  1. I thought Trolls didn't sell well at all? It certainly didn't sell well in my area, that's for sure. If this "Sparkle = Trolls 3" rumor does turn out to be true, this is like hitting your hand with the hammer while trying to hit the nail, and then doing it over again EXACTLY at least one more time the same way to see if it would hurt worse. Nobody does this on purpose.... (well, there are some people out there who might, but I doubt an entire company would!) It certainly sounds like a bad idea to me... the Trolls minifigs weren't even really compatible with regular figures! (weird headgear, for example)
  2. Steamboat Willie was released very soon after being announced (maybe a couple months? I can't recall.... 2019 was a lifetime ago!) but others have taken several years. With the current backlog, I'd say sometime in 2024, maybe even 2025 if they have issues. Sadly, I don't think 2023 is happening.
  3. Who in the wide wizarding word of quidditch is Ain Eingarp?!? I don't recall ever hearing of him (her?) before, in the books, films, or sets. I had the one with Quirrell from 2001 back in the day, and him and Harry Potter were the only figs in the set...
  4. Very nice steamer in a very regal color! Keep up the good work!
  5. a proper, runnable-on-track (and realistic looking) Hogwarts Express, Hogsmeade station and maybe a few more Hogsmeade buildings, like the Hogshead, for example. That's all that comes to mind for me. (that I would find useful for me)
  6. Over on Rebrickable there's a Speed Champions car trailer, then there's this not-transforming box trailer, and this one that opens up like the original Hasbro toy. That's all I could find, @jonwil.
  7. Is the line all the way down the part? If so, it's *probably* not a crack, but a line where the mold halves came together to create the part. If not, then I don't know. I can't really see it very well in your picture.
  8. Fantastic remodel! In my opinion it looks better now without the tower than the original set. I'll also echo what everyone else said and say completely flat wouldn't look good, so the bump up adds some character and uniqueness. Keep up the good work @Some Guy With LEGO!
  9. Not to mention, Crooler drugged her brother Cragger with "evil plants" to get him to help her depose their royal parents, drop them off a seemingly bottomless cliff, and invade the Lion's territory. (All in a kids TV show to boot!) So, yeah.
  10. To be fair, from what I recall comparisons were made about Chi and drugs way back when the Legends of Chima theme was released, so... yeah. I don't think this is too far fetched.
  11. Only those in the company can answer that. Could be fairly quickly, or a rather long time... there is no telling.
  12. Here you go @Alexandrina: It's a windup motor from 1981 - 1987 from the "Universal Building set" theme. Do you have the key as well? I also believe the wheel are removable, though it is difficult. I've also seen people make a simple steam loco MOC to go onto it. It's can't pull cars or run very far, but it was cool to see zipping along the track!
  13. The yellow Rolls Royce Phantom III from Goldfinger. It SCREAMS to exist officially now that we have the DB5.
  14. They were actually for him, not me. I just took them apart when he wasn't looking to see how to make them "better". As for what I did, I wanted to recreate the St. Louis Metrolink using those front parts, and failed rather miserably. I eventually recreated (and expanded upon) my early multi-colored poor attempt in LDD, with those parts removed back in 2016. You can see it on Flickr here. I also took the original engine and made it in yellow instead of blue at one point.
  15. I would add the red '57 Plymouth Fury from "Christine" and the semi truck from "Duel" to the never-gonna-happen wishlist.
  16. I personally wouldn't do it. Dark red, reddish brown, etc. don't like temperature changes. They break even if you look at them funny. I'd rent a storage unit. Expensive, but it can be climate controlled (if in a building) and only you have access and it's a secure facility to boot! Plus I think there is usually insurance you can buy if something does happen. Do your research before picking one though, as some are sketchy.
  17. These both look good to me! My stepdad bought two of the original set back in the late nineties, and much of my childhood was spent trying to make them better to no avail. You have succeeded at a very difficult task indeed, and wonderfully so. I tip my hat to you for a job well done!
  18. Three real life photos added of finished model to the first post. I hope you enjoy them as much I do!
  19. In case anybody cares, here is the original van from the first commercial (in green), and the second one. (in orange) The second commercial also featured Star Wars characters. These are both from an old stop-motion ad campaign Lego did in 2013 called "Build Together". (These are the original models / colors I copied into LDD from instructions I no longer own.)
  20. "This far-out VW bus is, like, full of positive vibes. No negative energy is allowed onboard, and no squares either. You're not a square are you? ...Groovy. I'm on my way to Woodstock for three days of peace, love, and music to tune in, turn on, and drop out. I'll also be protesting the Vietnam War on the way back to San Francisco. Wanna come along, man?" - The Hippie So, I was looking through my back catalog of downloaded LDD models and found this one from 2013 and the Build Together campaign Lego had at that time. They had a website for it an everything, and after a decade of waiting, this 8-wide bus finally resurfaced and caught my eye. I added a bunch of flowers, an hippie CMF fig (plus a custom female counterpart fig) and a far-out new paint job. The rear features a hitch for towing a trailer. Unfortunately the large door on the other side does not open... I didn't design it right and am NOT going to tear this apart to fix it. The inside has been decked out with all new details: a lava lamp, bed, table and chair, along with two chairs up front. As you might have guessed, the roof is mostly removable. UPDATE 1/18/23: Real world photos added! Thoughts?
  21. Sorry, but as my town is squarely set in the past, that is one modern thing that isn't happening. Taking classic cars and putting spinners, inclined wheels, wheelie bars, large spoilers, and / or other stuff makes me feel uneasy. New paint jobs: sure, fine. But the rest looks really silly, not to mention could be unsafe! Simply put: If it didn't come from the real-world factory in any way, I don't want it on my LEGO cars. ...I'll get off my soapbox now. Sorry for the rant, and I don't mean to offend. It just doesn't look "right" to me to do those things.
  22. Ok, that's all good, but since CITY is an established theme, it wouldn't need a codename. They only do that, as far as I'm aware, to keep people from knowing about it before it's announced. Besides, why in the world would they do an entire CITY wave in 4+? Is it a Jack Stone reboot? (I shouldn't have said that, these days you never know what they'll do!)
  23. It supposedly a Sonic the Hedgehog theme. There is a thread in the licensed forum about it.
  24. Simply put: You can't buy the Jazz Club unless you're a VIP member until the fourth. Which means, basically, they don't have it out for everyone to purchase. (They are either behind the counter or in the back.) The St Louis, Missouri store only had ~15 to sell, and I'd be willing to bet on the idea they sold out in thirty minutes to an hour. I was fifth in line with my father (he does modular buildings) from about 8:35 waiting in parking garage for mall to open until 10:50 when the store actually opened. There were ALOT of people in line by then!
  25. uh... thanks? I think you're saying it looks good... but I'm not 100% sure. Anyway: The first order came Saturday and those part have been added to the car wherever possible. The other Bricklink package with the remaining 20 bricks should be here tomorrow or so. Thoughts anybody?
