LDD MOC: Railroad Locomotive Transfer Table
Murdoch17 replied to Murdoch17's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I think what he is saying is that the RC tracks have no switches currently in LDD. The 9V ones do not work with the RC track digitally, for some odd reason, and RC track is the only track that works on baseplates in this program. It's quite a problem if your building an entire layout in LDD. Oh, and while we are talking about mssing items in LDD, what about these also missing pieces: Double RC Crossover 9V Crossing (I wish this were made in a RC version as well!) Train Ground Throw / Track Switch And all the 12V & 4.5 track parts are needed too! (Sorry if this is getting off topic! ) -
Yes, the car can roll out of the garage. In the 3rd to last pic, the doors were not opened all the way, so its seems it can't fit. However, If you look closely at the second to last picture, you can see the door's hinges. This door hinge, when opened all the way, sets the doors as straight as the walls, and at the same width. Oh, and if your town is set further back in time, the 1922 Moon I built fits too. Or, if you are from the UK, any of my '59 Ford Anglia's fit nicley too. Enjoy!

After seeing the pictures of the Winter Village Cottage (set 10229), I decided there was one thing missing: a garage to store the Cottage owner's car! I then made the building as close as possible to the original set without knowing the instructions. This posed a problem with the roof, but I'm confident it will work. Now onto the Pictures! The dark green windows are only avalible in the cottage, so technicaly, this model is unbuildable... for now. The side view showcases the fact that I kept the look of the original building as much as possible. Oh, and I also kept the wood shed out back. It seems Grandpa keeps his pride 'n' joy in here: a '57 Plymouth Fury, which fits perfectly into the garage. The roof is removable for access. This shot lets you compare my model with the official LEGO one. LXF is in this link. Enjoy!

Creepy Modular Fence Expansion Pack
Murdoch17 replied to Murdoch17's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I'm going to revive this undead thread with this: The Haunted House Automobile Garage! Pictures: The front. The bar off to the side is to hold the doors closed. Side view. The boarded up windows are supposed to have this printed part. This rear door is supposed to lead to the rear door of the Haunted House. And just look at the dark blue '22 Moon! No self-respecting daylight-robbing Vampyre would be caught undead without one of these fabulous automobiles! The roof is removable, and does not connect to the building, but sits there with a layer of plates makeing sure it doesn't slide off. This picture is just compare my work with the LEGO Designers' official set. This building and car are 100% buildable, and are both included. The LXF is in this link. I hope you enjoy using it as much as I did makeing it. NOTE: The name of the car, (Moon) was an accident. The Moon Motor Car Co. it was a real company from 1905 - 1930, based in Saint Louis, Missouri, and just happens to fit with the official story line of Lord Vampyre. -
The single track tunnel was made by my father back in 2000. I updated / extended it, made a two-track version, took off the baseplates, and put the pins in. Here are the pictures: The two tunnels. These are the basics, and you can modify them however you want, such as hiding them under green plates or BURPs & LURPs. Double track, with the connecting pins. Single track, also with some pins. NOTE: Connecting the tunnels will only work in this way or some variation of this type. For example, here is a picture of what can be done. Notice the one track section in front of the tunnels? (In the case of single to double tunnels , four should be used.) That is to make sure if your engine overhangs, it will swing clear. EDITED 9/5/21: added photos back to the post. I finally found them on my Flickr from 2012.. The file, however, is lost to time.

LDD MOC: Railroad Locomotive Transfer Table
Murdoch17 replied to Murdoch17's topic in LEGO Train Tech
@ domboy, The 1-stud space between the tracks is covered up by the light bluish grey 1x3 tiles. (I can't seem to accsess my MOCpage to give you a picture... so here it is on EB!) The dark red track is to let you see against the dark grey plates. @ anticyclone, Sorry, no plans to make it motorized. but if you want to, you (or anyone else) may want to try, be my guest! @ patje, I'm sorry but i can't look at your picture, as I don't have Windows media player 9, as it is needed to view the photo. I'm sure it looks nice though! @ wedge 09, wait till you see the locomotive shed! (Should be up sometime tomorrow, if MOC pages is back up.) -
For those who don't know what a Transfer Table is, Wikipedia is your friend: "A transfer table, also called a traverser (especially in the U.K.), is a piece of railroad equipment. It is similar in function to a turntable, though it cannot be used to turn equipment around. The table consists of a single length of track which can be moved from side to side, in a direction perpendicular to the track. There are often multiple tracks on one side of the table and a single track on the other." Onto my description of the table: This transfer table can hold the Emerald Night, and can be modified to have more than 2 tracks, and become longer for larger engines. (Anyone with as train longer than four tracks is going to need to extend this table!) As a bonus, my updated Emerald Night with 7 wide tender is included with the LXF download. The whole model. The overhead shot unfortunalty doesn't show the engine on the table. A flaw in LDD won't led me put anything directly on the light grey tracks. This was the best I could do without cheating. The back wheels are still on the dark grey tracks, so it will connect, but not any further than where it is in this picture. This picture shows what the transfer table was designed to do: Connect with my shed. The shed will be finished soon, so keep an eye out! Here is the file: LXF link Comments, questions & etc. weclome! EDIT August 1st 2012 The RR shed is here: This shed is missing 1 part... 38 of the Window 1 x 4 x 5 (Old Light Grey). The piece is strangely not in LDD, but the glass is... so this is technically not finished yet. (I've also inlcuded two extra glass pieces just so you have more than enough in case I miscounted the window holes.) The rear is cool too, but it look better with windows. The rear of the building give 2 extra studs so the tracks don't stick out the end of the wall. The Emerald Night (and / or my many MOD's) fits perfectley. However, You may be asking, why is it so tall with all that extra space? My Reason: What if you had a very tall locomotive, or even one with pantographs (like on an eletric engine)? That space works perfectley then. If you think it looks wierd, the change it. The LXf is right here, after all. Comming Soon: (Eventually) Modular Tunnels!

Now I'm going to share with you all something very special... a collection of all the previous vehicles. (plus some more!) V-LC-20C @ Pencil_42 : No, I don't mind if you Friendzify them. In fact, If you don't mind, you (or anyone else) can post their own Automotive MOD / MOCS here. There is one catch: post pictures (real or digital) with a LXF for all of us to make our own. Oh, and if you want to make your creations buildable in real life, download Superkalle's LDD Manager Program (the link to the topic) That way, you can find all you missing, mis-colored, & mis-placed parts in you model that need to be replaced. It also gives you links to the Bricklink page of the digital parts. (Such as, you have 231 Tan 2x4 bricks on your model list, so it will give you a link to here. Thus, you select you color... but I don't to go further since I'm pretty sure you know how to use Bricklink. Also, @ Phred , If you could change the title to somthing like this it would be greatly appreciated: Title : Digital Automotive Creations Subtitle: LDD & LDraw files of real life models welcome too! Oh, and Thanks for the link! Now everyone can build their own Rock Band Van! Next up from me, The Generic 1960's Van: This van is not based off any other Real Life model that I could find, except for the set it was orginally included in: set 10183, Hobby Train. (The van came ontop of a Railroad flat-car, thus it was in that set.) This model comes in three colors: Dark bluish gray, Blue, & Red. The model seats 1 figure and has a removable rear door. Honestly, The model looks like it came out of the 1960's Soviet Union. (Don't ask me why, I don't know, it just gives me this feeling, especialy the Dark bluish gray one.) Anyway, here is the LXF. Next up: the final vehicle collection!

B-RM-09C I noticed when the Modular Pet Shop came out that the apartment next door had very little furniutre. I took out the painter and his tools, and had nothing to replace them with. Thus, this MOD was born. I've recreated the furntiure in LDD so that you can replace the painter + tools too. Pictures: I also added the garage from my Coin Shop modular in diffirent colors to have somewhere for the tenant to park his / her car. The rear provides access to the garage as well. First floor: Flower vase, Kitchen table, three chairs, wine bottle storage with bottles inside, and drawers for silverware and / or plates. (Dishes & silverware not included in LXF.) The second floors features a couch, grandfather clock, telephone, tile rug, & picture frame. The grandfather clock is actually set #30201, Ghost. (The link is to the Bricklink set) This also goes on the second floor, right where the paint spot usually goes. Top floor: bed + nightstand, outdoor table, and 2 chairs. All the added furniture, plus the one part used to hold up the picture. the clock was not included here, as it is in it's own set and not desgined by me. The LXF is is here. Enjoy! NOTE: Some parts from the original model changed colors (the doors & the canopy from green to black come to mind) so it could better match the garage. Aside from hanging the picture on the wall, everything else structural was kept intact.

V-LC-20B Moving on... 1918 Dorris truck (This truck is based off a particular automobile that resides at the Museum of Transpotation in Saint Louis, Missouri. It was a Dorris touring coach, built and designed in Saint Louis, converted into a truck. The orignal LEGO truck was from set 10222, Winter Village Post Office, and resembled the actual truck so much so that very little modification was needed.) The colors that can be built are: Red, White, & Black. top view. the rear view. The Dorris Motors Corporation was founded in 1906, stopped full production in 1923, and went bankrupt by 1926. This was their logo. The LXF is in this link.

V-LV-41F Sorry, I was without internet since Friday. My Answers & replies: @ Phred: Yes, the camper is a reconstructed version of that Rock Band van without the monsterous rear engine and wheels. I used LEGO official instructions for the orginal model, then tweaked it a lot. (I can't seem to find the Rock Band bus instructions on LEGO.com anymore, can someone help find it and post the link? @LEGOfreakKO345: The Plymouth was made 2 years ago, and updated last week. The Plymouth's car colors have been added, as a Light bluish grey background with a dark grey stripe / interior colored car is buildable. Next up, an older model I've posted before: 1920's MOON Automobile (made in my hometown of Saint Louis Missouri, from 1905 - 1930.) The protoype for this car was made in 1922: Fourteen versions of this car exist. Left to right, back row: Tan w/ black stripe, solid Blue, solid Green, solid Yellow, Black w/ light bluish gray stripe, solid Orange, & solid Reddish Brown. Left to right, front row: Sand Green w/ black stripe, solid Dark Bluish Gray, solid Red, solid light bluish gray, Dark Blue w/ black stripe, solid Dark Red, & White w/ black stripe. Overhead view The sand green version's front & left side. The entire left side. The rear & right side view, showcaseing the spare tire and tail-lights. The running-you-over-view. The LXF file for all the Moon's colors is in this link. More to come, so keep your eyes peeled!

V-LV-41E And now, for the moment you've all been dying to see... This car was modeled after the 1957 Plymouth Fury, made famous by a certain Stephen King book. I built 5 versions, as close as I could to the prototype including a Taxi cab version, and of course the self-repairing, murdering, original hell-on-wheels: Christine . The 1957 Furies, which are a red w/ white stripe, black w/ Dark red stripe, Blue w/ white stripe, yellow Taxi w/ white stripe, & white w/ dark bluish grey stripe. Tree-top view of the cars, becuase cars can't climb trees... The rear end running away... the one thing you'll never see of these cars. This is the last view you'll ever see of Christine. Sadly, 50's Rock 'n' Roll music is not included with donwload. The LXF link is right here. Now, if if you don't mind I'm going to try and find a bulldozer... and fast!

V-LV-34F 1960 VW Microbus This was made for all the non-hippie people who want a Volkswagen Microbus. Orange, red, black, yellow, & blue are the avalible colors, (white is avalible but looks wierd) are the colors this comes in. Being-run-over-by-a-convoy-of-Buses view The rear of all of them. The LXF is here. Next up, see if you can guess this movie tagline: How can you kill something that can't possibly be alive?

Welcome to Highlanders Coin & Currency! We have been in buisness at the location since 1904, and have the finest selection of coins & paper money in the city. We pride ourselves on quality service, and we grade the common coins ourselves, while the more rare, valuable items go to the LCGS (which stands for Lego Coin Grading Service) for grading at their facility. We have a currency viewing area where you can examine our items before you purchase them. The outside of the building, showing our cast-iron COIN sign. The rear of our building leads to an alleyway connecting all the buildings on our street. The shop floor, where all low priced coins are checked for errors, defects, & etc, before being put in paper holders for sale at one of our two tables. This is a closer picture of the coin under the magnifying glass in the above picture. This is where the shop owner lives. this apartment gives quick access to the store in case of robbery or some other disaster. The bedroom of the owner. This garage houses the owners car and also leads to the alley. The owners car, shown here, is a 1957 Plymouth Furyblack w/ dark red stripe. (It can also fit cars such as my 1959 Anglia, 1920's Moon, & cars of the same size. This particular car, along with other colors, will be avalible shotly in my LDD Vehicle topic.) The LXF is in this link. And yes, the LCGS is based off the real world PCGS. (Also known as the Professional Coin Grading Service)

V-LV-34E ...and now for something completely different: the 1959 Ford Anglia, as featured in Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets. This model comes in 8 variteies. The inlcuded colors are: Dark bluish gray w/ light bluish grey, white w/ red, yellow w/ light bluish grey, blue w/ red, black w/ red, medium blue w/ white, red w/ light bluish grey, and light bluish gray w/ black. NOTE: One part is not buildable in it's color. This part is not avalible in Light Bluish Grey... as far as I know. this affects only the red / gray stripe and light stripe / Dark bluish gray background models. Interior consists of a stick shift and steering wheel. the LXF is here.

V-LV-33E Note: Using my models is okay in other MOC's, MOD's, digital creations, and real life models, just give credit if you do use them here on EuroBricks. First up: 1960 Volkswagen Microbus (Hippie Version) Hey man! Come and see my groovy VW bus! It's got flowers all over the outside, and plenty of seating inside. We are headed out to Woodstock, for three days of Peace, Lego, & Music, after that we are heading downtown to protest the war in Vietnam, even later than that, we're going to make T-Shirts saying: "Make LEGO models, Not WAR!" You comming along or what? ...Meet my freinds: (in left to right order) Maxwell, Jeremy, & Lucy. We call them Hammer, Nowhere, and Diamonds. The rear side showing the far-out flower paint job. inside view, with confortable seating for 3, and close quarters seating for 6. In regards to the names of our hippies, I used Beatles songs/ movies as refrences: - Maxwell & his nickname are from "Maxwell's Silver Hammmer" - Jermey is a charecter from from the Beatles movie "Yellow Submarine" while Nowhere is from the song Nowhere man, which is Jeremy song in the movie. - Lucy & her nickname are, of course refrencing "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" Also, the Maxwell / Hammer minifg is actually a placeholder for the Series 7 collectable minifig, the Hippie. Enjoy the LDD file..

Them names were selected because I liked Emerald Knight better than Emerald Night, so I needed simmilar sounding names, such as Crimson Crusader, Ebony Avenger, & Ivory Angel. Then, when I made the Blue, Sand Green, and Light Grey engines, I needed more names. So I came up with Blue Battalion along the same lines as before, but Sand Green and Lt. Grey were problems. I couldn't think of a term that sounded good enough for Sand Green, so I just did Sands of Time as a joke. Grey Ghost was this way as well, buyt it's just random, not a joke. If you want to suggest other names, please do so, as I don't like these ones very much. Suggestions are especially welcome with the Emerald Knight, as I would like something unique, not something everday and common. ...As to the parts list, here it is: Missing, Mistaken & Not real parts BL ItemID / BL Item NameBL / Color / Qty / Notes 3673 / Technic, Pin without Friction Ridges Lengthwise / Dark Bluish Gray / 42 (Should be Black, my mistake) 43093 / Technic, Axle Pin with Friction Ridges Lengthwise / Light Bluish Gray / 2 (Should be Blue, my mistake) 60592 / Window 1 x 2 x 2 Flat Front / Sand Green / 4 (Doen't exist... yet) 60592 / Window 1 x 2 x 2 Flat Front / Light Bluish Gray / 4 (Doen't exist... yet) 32073 / Technic, Axle 5 / Dark Bluish Gray / 6 (Should be this part., but it wasn't working in LDD) Sorry for not posting this sooner, I've been working on my Dark Green Engine. Oh, could a mod please change the title to Emerald Knight MOD x7 instead of x5 please?
-
UPDATE: I have finished whast I started. Here are the new pictures with Blue, Ligh Bluish Grey & Sand Green engines added. Names for the engines are as follows from left to right: Emerald Knight, Ebony Avenger, Crimson Crusader, Ivory Angel, Blue Battalion, Grey Ghost, Sands of Time, & Great West. I couldn't think of a better names for the Sand Green engine, and besides, the color is SAND green! I removed the trans-orange drills (the fire for the firebox) and a bunch of other non-avalible parts. The LXF is in the Link. Enjoy!

I have created five versions of the Emerald Night. There are other options, such as Blue and Sand Green, but I want someone else to come up with their own versions (and names!) using Superkalle's LDD manager to check if it's buildable. Link Here to the topic. My pictures and engine backstory: The engine names are, from left to right, Emerald Knight, Ebony Avenger, Crimson Crusader, Ivory Angel, & Great West. The engine on the right, Great West, is named after the train it pulls, so it's name does not follow the color coded pattern of all the others. Many more engines exist than these five, but they are all standard Black w/ red stripes, somewhat like the Ebony Avenger. The tenders are all exactly the same, except for one: Emerald Knight was involved in a accident early in it's career. The tender was mangled, and so a replacement was made with several updates to it. (The lower tail-light is an example.) Unfortunatly, this tender design was never repeated, but the one example was preserved for unknown reasons. Engine Type: Steam, Passenger Configuration: 4-6-2 Engine Class: A7 Designer: Sir Nigel Gregory Build Date: 1922 - 1935 Total produced: 52 Builder: Panther Locomotive Works Current Owner: Brick Railway Length: 50 studs (with tender) Width: 8 studs Height: 11 bricks Top Speed: 98 MPH Lego Digital Designer file is in this link. Comments, Questions & Criticism is welcome!

If you want to see all the BUILDABLE versions of my engine, I'm going to make a topic for it soon. Here's a teaser : Link to the topic here.
