You model is really wonderful. Thank you for inspiring me to build my own Bluebonnet!
-
(Thanks to raven1280 for the inspiration to create this model.) These Electro-Motive Division F7 diesel units are painted in the Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe (AT&SF) Warbonnet & Bluebonnet color schemes. They are based off of set number 10200 (Santa Fe Super Chief) and fellow Eurobricks user raven1280's Bluebonnet MOD with a couple of my own twists inserted in some places. For example, instead of using custom stickers for the windscreen and porthole windows, I'm using regular Lego parts. Also, the undercarriage is black (not gray) on the bluebonnet engine because of this photo: https://farm3.static...951e1b39f_z.jpg The rear of the locos feature the booster units, or B units, as they are sometimes called. The B units feature through crew walkways to the cab unit. Neither the A or B units contain interiors. LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1405274343m.lxf Please see the inspiration for this MOC / MOD at this topic here: http://www.eurobrick...81#entry1936703 What do you think of my MOD of a MOD? EDIT: Reworked some things and gave it a back-story. Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe 302 is one of a very rare breed. Built in August 1949 as a “A” (cab) and “B” (booster) F7 diesel unit for the Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railway (AT&SF), This Electro-Motive Division (EMD) product was painted in a variant of the famous Warbonnet (red, yellow and silver) color scheme called Bluebonnet (blue yellow and silver). The engine was intended for freight service and did so faithfully for 28 years. In late 1977 the two unit set was on the short list for conversion to an CF7 hood unit when the Wabash Frisco & Pacific (or WF&P for short) went looking for a engine to pull it's recently refurbished Merrimack River Runner. The Santa Fe gave them a two-for-one special on the tired F7 units, with the WF&P buying the A unit and getting the B for free. The new owner realized the historic meaning of this deal more than the old owner did: this was one of the last bluebonnet engines left, and one of a handful of AT&SF F7's not converted to the horrid looking CF7 hood unit. Needless to say, the WF&P snapped up the offer, and even set the loco to the EMD La Grange, Illinois assembly plant for the motor to be replaced with a newer, more powerful and easier-to-maintain power plant. The units came back to the WF&P in 1979, and have since been teamed up with the recently restored Southern Pacific Daylight 4460 (owned by the St. Louis-based National Transportation Museum) for trips up and around WF&P system. Builders notes: Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe 302 really existed, but I have no idea what it was painted. It was probably either scrapped or converted to a CF7 hood unit along with most of the other F7 locos. The number I used came from the LEGO set number 10020, which uses number 301 for it's Warbonnet painted loco. I wanted this to a be a brother loco, so I used the next one up: 302. The Wabash Frisco & Pacific is a real 12 inch gauge steam railway based in Glencoe, MO. For my purposes they have been turned into a "real" railway. The Merrimack River Runner is a copy of the Missouri River Runner, a real Amtrak train starting from St. Louis and ending in Kansas City before reversing course and going back to St. Louis with some stops in between both cities. The train cars are based on a real WF&P passenger car paint scheme. The Southern Pacific 4460 really exists, but has not steamed since 1959. It is located in St. Louis MO at the real-life Transportation Museum.

Sinister Mansion backstory: Built in 1910 - 1911, Sinister Manor is one of the last surviving houses in the Edwardian Style of architecture in Ironwood county. It was built by Lord Gregory Sinister for his family, and features one addition not usually seen on Edwardian houses: a automobile garage. The house was left to Gregory's family, (his son Sam Sinister & his sister Alexis Sinister) upon the elder Sinister's death of a stroke in 1913. Sam Sinister went on to serve in the British army in World War I, losing his left hand in the conflict and replacing it with a iron hook. When he returned from the conflict Sam set about continuing his fathers tradition: collecting treasure precious artifacts, through legal and illegal means. The collection was stored in the Attic of the sinister Mansion until it became too large and was moved to a more secure (and secret) location, rumored to be somewhere in the mysterious Monster Realm. Sorry for not posting for so long! Island Racer (2014 redo) This updated vehicle is based on the 2000 set number 5920 (Island Racer) and this MOC by my brother: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/383615 It now seats two people, has a movable windshield and a spare tire located on the rear. It is owned by Lord Sam Sinister and is 100% build-able. Rear view showcasing the spare tire. LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1402585647m.lxf This part is from 76010: Batman: The Penguin Face Off and will be for Lord Sam Sinister. Link to Bricklink: http://www.bricklink...?P=973pb1646c01 It should go with a flat silver hook instead of the right hand. (it's actually his left hand) He also should have a cape and black or dark bluish gray legs. Unfortunately, his face hasn't a recent counterpart, but the Orient Expedition (2003) one should do. Treasure Raider Based off of set 7622, Race for the Stolen Treasure (2008's Indiana Jones theme) this is a better version of the Treasure Raider that I made a couple months back. This vehicle is for Johnny Thunder and features a spare tire, and head & tail lights, plus a good old adventurer favorite: the classic two seat piece from way back in 1998. The rear features a sloped trunk, which is way better than the open platform of the original Indiana Jones set I was inspired by. LDD file: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1404178315m.lxf EDIT: I have since updated the LDD file,so it looks a little different now in order to bring down costs. sorry! This 2014 Johnny Thunder will be used with this vehicle... picture from Bricklink. (He is in a LEGO Movie set, in case you didn't know!) Link to Bricklink: http://www.bricklink...em.asp?M=tlm068

Here is my new 2014 version of the Island Racer: It now seats two people, has a movable windshield and a spare tire located on the rear. It is 100% build-able. It was mostly inspired by my brother's MOC: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/383615 LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1402585647m.lxf (re-typed from my other thread) Also, If anybody wants more Johnny Thunder - type vehicles, or just some older automobiles, look here: 1920's MOON The MOON Motor Car company lasted from 1905 until 1930. Here is the link to the Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia....Moon_automobile This is not based on a specific model, but more or less the style of 1920's luxury MOON automobiles. The MOON Motor Car company was based in St. Louis Missouri and built cars from 1905 to 1930. However, they did not get the very complex finances straightened out until 1965! This model was inspired by the works of Bricktrix, whose Rolls Royce Phantom Mk II inspired me to build the chassis of his car into the model you see here. Link to the Bricktrix original: http://www.flickr.co...157622854792681 1930's Gangster Sedan Built from set #7682 (Shanghai Chase) and modified with modern parts to give cleaner, more streamlined look. The rear features a rear inspired by the yellow car in set 10200. (Custom Car Garage) 1930's Roadster Look familiar? It's the same as the one in my Market Street Bakery 10190 MOD. I included it only because it fits the bill of a vintage car. 1931 Ford Model AA truck Everyone may have heard of the Ford Model T and maybe it's successor, the Model A. But here is something you may not know: The Model T and later Model A both had trucks made from the basic principles of those cars. They were called the Model TT & Model AA, which is where this Lego model comes in. It is based off a Ford Model AA truck. I built this model from set #10222, Winter Village post Office. Link to the Model AA wiki page: http://en.wikipedia....i/Ford_Model_AA 1930's German Automobile This model was made from Indiana Jones set #7622, Race for the Stolen Treasure. It now features a roof and proper windows. I consider this the civilian version of the one in the set. The rear also has tail lights, which were not in the original set. 1940 AEC Regent III This is my double-Decker bus. It is based on an Associated Equipment Company (AEC) Regent III. This bus is missing one part: the stair case in the rear. I based this model off the 2003 version of the Knight Bus. I even added a proper staircase, which isn't in LDD. Here is a Bricklink picture of it: This bus type is famous for being the basis for the purple Knight Bus in the Harry Potter "Prisoner of Azkaban" movie. In real life service, this bus type was built from 1939 to 1954 and used until the late 1970's. It was usually painted red or dark green, but I decided on reddish brown for this MOC just to be different. Here we can see the support for the stairs off to the rear of the bus. The roof and second floor of this bus are removable, even though no mini-figures can sit in the drivers seat and only one figure can fit per row of passenger seats. Here is the link to the Regent III wikia page: http://en.wikipedia..../AEC_Regent_III (I know the the Regent III usually had inside staircase, but the prototype did originally had an older outside one, and that's what I'm going with.) 1944 Jeep Built from Indiana Jones set #7628, Peril in Peru. I don't think I modified this one that much. 1920's Roaring Roadster This car was made out of a desire to made a car using LEGO Western pistols as pistons. I think I did a reasonably good job! Tail lights and spare tire, that's all you'll find back here! Bessie (Doctor Who) This is based off the Doctor Who car Bessie. (I don't know the original prototype or it's model year, so just called it "Bessie". Rear of the car features tail lights and a spare tire. Bessie even has a page at the Doctor Who wiki: http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Bessie Sinister's racer (the older version) & Thunder's car are also included in the file (see below). Rear view of the two cars. LDD file for all that you see here (except for the Brick City Depot fire-truck... that is NOT included!): http://www.mocpages....1409694574m.lxf Comments, questions, & complaints are always welcome!

Brick Railway Systems (BRS) engines & rolling stock
Murdoch17 replied to Murdoch17's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Old engine, new look. 2-6-0 "Mogul" Steam locomotive Built in 1917 by Zephyr Locomotive Works for Brick Railway Systems (BRS for short), engine #4613 was one of a class of 44 locomotives numbered 4610 to 4654. They were the last class of BRS engines painted in dark green & black with gold highlights. They were also the first class to feature modern tenders with increased water & fuel storage capacity. These two traits created a oddity in the BRS loco department, as it was both old and new. They have all since been repainted except for 4613, which proudly still wears in “Green and Gold” as a testament to the first 50 years of the railroads existence. LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1401200779m.lxf This one is being build right now, as it is based off the 2-6-0 Western style loco'as design and parts.- 21 replies

Who's got Benny's Spaceship put together already?
Murdoch17 replied to BirdOPrey5's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I got mine two weeks ago at the St. Louis Missouri Lego Store. Also, Benny's helmet is molded cracked, as in it's a fake crack - not really broken. -

I've been working on these a while, waiting for Benny's SPACESHIP to be released. Now that I have Benny's ship, I can start building the rest of his fleet, which should include 2 fighters, 1 freighter, 1 escort cruiser, 1 Command Cruiser, 1 hover car, plus the space station. Now on to the pics! LL929 "Cosmic Explorer" (AKA Benny's Spaceship x3!) Built in 2012-13 for the Classic Space Supreme Commander, Benny the 1980-something space guy. It came equipped with a pocket for Unikitty during the Battle for Octan Tower. After the battle, this pocket was removed. (Unikitty turned down Benny's offer for a commission to Classic Space command, and has set out as a director actor in Movies & TV. See her latest film, "Johnny Thunder & the Temple of Gloom" for more info.) The area was replaced with a canopy for the crew to see outside from their stations near the Imagination Reactor. This ship in it's original form (plus it's pilot Benny and his friends) are featured in The LEGO Movie. Ship Name: Cosmic Explorer Owner: Classic Space Command Model: LL929 “Voyager” class Command Cruiser Manufacturer: Classic Space Shipyards Engines: 3 Mega Imagination Reactors Max Speed: 5,100 MPH Max Hyper Speed: 0.8 past light speed Other Modifications include: bumblebee stripes, longer wings, removed wing flaps & spring shooters, plus I added two more computers under the former skylight. LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1401734951m.lxf NOTE: The file above is based on the one in the "Offiical LEGO sets made in LDD topic" by EB user "Canticleer blues". He built the file I modified. Galaxy class Deep-Space Fighter These ships escort Benny on his missions, most recently on the search for George the 1970-something space guy, Benny's predecessor and friend. The small ships proved vital when they had to search the debris field of George's ship... or what was left of it. Owner: Classic Space Command Model: “Galaxy” class deep space fighter Manufacturer: Classic Space Shipyards Engines: 2 Imagination Reactors Max Speed: 3,400 MPH Max Hyper Speed: 0.5 past speed of light LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1415380096m.lxf Gamma class Freighter Originally bought from M-Tron Corporation in 1989 as discarded designs for what eventually became the 1990 Particle Ionizer, the Gamma class freighter is the one of slowest hyper-drive equipped vehicles in the Classic space Command fleet. It features 2 of the smallest (and slowest) hyper-engines ever built, and can carry up to 45 astro-tons of freight. The Gamma class features three smaller cargo holds capable of holding smaller lose cargo (such as mail or parcels), while the bigger pressurized hold can hold anything from a carbon-frozen human to a couple dozen alien eggs, all the way up to a medium sized machinery. Owner: Classic Space Command Model: “Gamma” class freighter Manufacturer: Classic Space Shipyards Engines: 2 Mini Imagination Reactors Max Speed: 2,550 MPH Max Hyper Speed: 0.4 past light speed LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1401664595m.lxf Micro - scale Benny's Spaceship + Classic Space Satellite First off, the Benny's spaceship micro build was inspired by Pepa Quin and his Iron Builder "Comarade Benny" model, (link: https://www.flickr.c...s-55973205@N08/ ) while the satellite was built from a LDD starter model from 2011. Background: The famous Benny the 1980-something space guy is investigating a mysterious signal coming from a region of space beyond our galaxy cluster. The radio signal was accidentally picked up by a satellite listening for possible Blacktron communiques. It is a 16 billion year old signal, which means it is older than the universe itself! Benny will have to find a way to get to the signal emitter, and he may just have a way: a certain blue box and it's owner! LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1415551572m.lxf Pi class Hover Car Originally intended as a high society transport, this ship design was stolen by another manufacturer and famously featured in the 2002 film Star Wars Episode II "Attack of the Clones". The company that made them first almost gave up until it sold one to then-unknown blue 1980's spaceman named Benny. Benny then used this car to shuttle himself to his work and secret master builder meetings, and eventually to his SPACESHIP(!)'s hanger after the end of Octan Corporation hostilities. The ship was not featured in the film made about those events, but nonetheless was seen in the studio parking lot as Benny drove it to play himself in the movie. It currently is stationed on the planet Zonia, where Benny (along with all the other Classic Spacemen) lives. Owner: Classic Space Command Model: “Pi” class hover car Manufacturer: Classic Space Shipyards Engines: 1 Mini Imagination Reactor Max Speed: 1,275 MPH Max Hyper Speed: (N/A) LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1401665607m.lxf NOTE: This ship originally was half of Star Wars set 7133, Bounty hunter Pursuit. Epsilon II space base The legendary 1970-something space guy, (also known as George) opened the Epsilon II Base in 1986, just in time for the Great Divide of 1987. (also known as the formation of the Blacktron) They made their base on the nearby ice world of Imperium and threatened to invade Epsilon II. The classic base was put on lock-down as George waited to receive an order of heavily armored and armed Exo-suits. (However that ship was intercepted by an unknown force and crashed on a world in a far-off uncharted sector of the galaxy.) George's situation back on Epsilon II soon became desperate as the supposed time of arrival for the Exo-suits came and went. Blacktron soon surrounded the world, drawing ever closer to the lone outpost and it's large fuel dump. By 1991 however, the Space Police had been formed and routed the nearby Blacktron stronghold of Imperium. The remaining siege fleet of Blacktron ships fled to the Galactic Deep Core to lick their wounds. The first Classic Space ship that landed on Epsilon in four years was commanded by a young Benny, who was sent to relieve the original commander George as he was retiring to a small lunar outpost. Benny has since been given fame in the LEGO Movie and the honorary title of 1980-something space guy. The base has been updated to feature two smaller landing pads and one large one for Benny's spaceship. (The statue is this mini-figure from 2009: http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?M=sp103 ) The modified set 70816 (Benny's ship) and two cruisers are included in the LDD file. The submodels are grouped for your benefit, though one substitution is needed: the two 32 x 32 baseplates are meant to be these parts instead: http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?P=3947a . LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1415559668m.lxf Here is a some-what related build of something used at the space base: Octan Fuels hover - tanker This OCTAN truck is on the smaller end of hover tankers. It can carry Nitros oxide, propane, rocket-grade gasoline, liquid nitrogen, plutonium, oil, and other fuels. Inspired by Bricksky's alternate build of set 60016: https://www.flickr.com/photos/tylersky/13598270465/in/faves-55973205@N08/ This model is made up mostly of that set's parts, with some additions. These include the following printed part: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3068bpb018 for the front 2x2 tile between the lights. This OCTAN tanker has three engines: two sub-light and one hyper drive. (in the middle) LDD file: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1398109113m.lxf Questions, comments, & complaints welcome! EDIT 11/7/14: Added more pictures and fixed categories. EDIT 11/9/14: re-Added Epsilon II space base and micro - scale models, plus the Octan tanker.

I had one last night, (and several night before) where I was looking around the LEGO store and see several (like six or seven) different types of new EXPERT-style trains, all made with revamped 9V type parts and new track geometries. I get close and just when I picked one up, I awoke. For several hectic moments in a half-sleepy state, I looked around my room to see if it was true... it almost seems like my subconscious is taunting me!

Added the American level crossing (double track) and the Glencoe Depot. Here is a picture I made containing some of the stuff seen in this topic and it's sister topic about BRS Locomotives and Rolling Stock: August 20, 1965 - Here we see Brick Railway Systems 2-6-4 Pacific number 5133 steaming past Glencoe Tower heading for the freight yard at Springfield with a consist of boxcars and tankers. Continuing with the train down the tracks at left will take you to Rolla and Springfield, while the other direction will take you across the Meramec River towards Barrett's Station and St. Louis. (where the train started) Here is a link to the picture's Flickr page in case you want a bigger version for your desktop: https://www.flickr.com/photos/55973205@N08/14243699173/sizes/l- 14 replies

Brick Railway Systems (BRS) engines & rolling stock
Murdoch17 replied to Murdoch17's topic in LEGO Train Tech
New / old locomotive! This one was built from Anthony Sava's cute 2-6-2 instructions, with the 2-6-4 tender thrown in to boot. I think it looks much better than the first time I tried his design, see here: I have also updated the 2-8-0's pictures to include the new tender. (I'm sure getting a lot of use out of that Pacific's 7 wide tender!)- 21 replies

Great job with the steam engine MOD! It is really hard to turn American engines into British locomotives (trust me, I've tried) but you are a well on your way to doing just that. Also, that coach is a nice first physical MOC. With a little fine tuning (and some real windows), you could have a decent British Railways coach! By the Way: if you take off the pantograph of the yellow engine, you have a very nice BR class 60. (link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_60 ) but if you leave it on, you have a really accurate class 92. ( link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_92 ) Keep up the good work!
