  1. Thanks guys. I can't help it, every motorbike or trike I get has to be converted to a flying space thing. I've got around..thirty? lost count. Rather than explain it, here, have a disassembly photo.
  2. Space Police XVIII tied with Space Police III. And SP3 prototypes were even more impressive..I think anyway.. 5973 prototype Also crusty old Classic Space, before the blue stuff.
  3. with apologies for photo quality..
  4. Agreed. I don't get some of these design decisions. Maybe it's to encourage people to modify and build their own stuff? or maybe the designer was limited to certain parts for whatever reason.
  5. Movie delivers. Exceeded all my expectations. Maybe one day I'll actually watch it.
  6. Oh, nice! My beautiful brick separator collection suddenly feels incomplete. Well, off to bricklink THIRTY FIVE BUCKS NO MY COLLECTION'S JUST FINE THANK YOU
  7. Man, I can start to see how it's put together but I'm not really up to reverse engineering it, my parts are in a mess... That's the author's page. You could contact them, ask for an exploded view, perhaps.
  8. I would go with the classic yellow. I've got a Space Police theme in the works, and am just using the uniforms from the Lego Movie sets. Dark blue for regular officers and black for the supervisor or chief. The all-gray SPIII scheme looks like body armor to me, so they are SWAT.
  9. Excellent job. I love the industrial look with mechanical innards exposed. Nice to see something built for the big Technic figures, too.
  10. In the meantime let's have baseless rumors and speculation! My cousin's barber's dog's babysitter's second twice-removed cousin/sister met somebody from Denmark once, and the dog says we'll be getting a classic supercar series. Lotus Esprit, Lamborghini Countach and that sort of thing. I can't wait!
  11. Really nice! Great use of the handlebars.
  12. Wow, excellent. What's the gastank piece? only one I don't recognize.
  13. Yes, yes, the patriarchy has been well and truly smashed. :D Movie delivers. In spades. And it's not even out yet!
  14. Looks great. Especially the staggered/recessed headlight treatment, I'll be stealing that!
  15. That's funny, I think the same thing about that 'hate campaign' business. And I'm just not seeing how this translates into the sort of systemic womanhating that's being claimed. There've been plenty of female-led movies. Where was the hatred and backlash then? I've seen this exactly once before, and that was that little puff of nothing around Fury Road. http://www.cinemable...ters-68651.html Eeeegh after the marketing the car's my biggest complaint about the movie. The original was pretty awesome, iconic, the new one's a plain box from the worst years of General Motors. Though, the first one was an ambulance and this one a hearse, so there's something funny about the movie after all! No comment here, there's a Ghostbusters 2 shaped hole in my memories and I'm not eager to know what's in there. No, this is a large part of the problem and exactly what's causing the backlash: it's goen from 'just a movie' to some Grand Sweeping Statement on Gender Relations in our Horrible Sexist Society, or some such tripe. People can deal with women leading just fine. But let's not pretend that alone makes a movie good. Anyway, we'll see how the release goes, have fun Ecto racing.
  16. Don't feel like getting into this, and politics is too narrow a word. Here's a topical example though, do you remember Mad Max Fury Road? There was this slew of articles around release, claiming mens' rights activists were pushing for a boycott. I got curious and looked, and I found exactly one guy whining about how too much Furiosa made it a 'feminist flick.' People ran with this, blew it up into a huge deal, and now we're seeing the same thing cranked up to eleven. The idea of some coordinated hate campaign is idiotic; this is it, right here, we are it, random people talking to random people about the movie, some disliking it enough to click the dislike button - wow, what a pathetic act of hatred, right? Check out this article, dated today. Check out the tagline: "Reboot of the 1984 classic has been hammered by fans for no reason other than its female cast, something which may convince Hollywood to stick with its male-dominant structure." No reason, right, you know, except the unfunny jokes, the cringy racial stereotyping, the ugly designs, the confused writing, the fact Sony had to threaten legal action to force cooperation of the original cast, nnnnnooooooo reason whatsoever! This is part of the movie's marketing campaign. It's working nicely. Driving controversy, keeping people talking about the movie and setting up the excuse for its failure. And you've bought into it completely. Congratulations. Enjoy the movie.
  17. That campaign, if it can be called such, is just a bunch of people on a bunch of places like reddit discussing the movie and disliking it. Plenty to dislike, too. The movie looks bad (usual disclaimer here, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised), the trailers look bad and painfully unfunny, it's a well-liked franchise getting crapped on, it's got strong ties to the ugly politics of the day, and the people involved just love trying to insult their audience. Seems like every time the noise dies down a little, there's some new interview or article telling us all about rampant misogyny being the only possible reason to dislike this majestic masterpiece. Really, isn't that enough?
  18. I love this thing! great detailing! The exhaust flames don't really seem to fit though.
  19. Great design, great color scheme. I really like this thing.
  20. This is really awesome. Great color scheme and shape.
  21. Thanks to your post I realized something. I am sick to death of franchises. Can we see something new? can we see something original? nooooo, let's have another retread of something, anything, that made some money in the past. Give it a shiny new coat of paint! an oh so amazing twist like a female cast! and make the Death Star bigger this time, it's genius, job well done!
  22. Looks like crap, but a lot of movies look like crap. What's interesting is that everyone associated with this one seems to be pushing the 'if you don't like it you're a misogynistic forty year old loser living in his mother's basement' angle.
  23. I've seen a few designs using these http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=11090 instead of robot arms, also a rather common technique. I've been wondering about this myself, trying to design an original mech.
  24. I've been building speeder bikes based on these trike bodies for a little while, and finally found some use for all the leftover front forks. Space unicycle because of course. That little red bit in back is supposed to be a jump jet, because the design is entirely too stable without it. There's also a Blacktron version. Slightly larger, blacker, more armed, it's all very exciting.
