Yep, now we've actually seen the figures it's not as rich pickings as I'd hoped. Never mind, I'm sure the Star Wars CMF will be arriving anytime now...
-
Maybe not strictly right for this thread (yet) , but I'm thinking the just-announced Batman CMF series is going to be a goldmine of fleshie heads, hand and hairpieces. First thoughts - there's a head in one of the sets we maya get again that looks like a perfect Biggs, and Barbara Gordon should be a good Rae Sloane too!
-
I tried this (see previous page of this thread) and the weight of the body/head was greater than the friction of the ankle joint you have there. However, adding a friction bracket to the back of the foot should sort this, but also have the effect of extending the back of the foot out. You'll need to re-shape the foot to accomdate this.

LEGO Star Wars 2017 Pictures and Rumors

The lower section of the phantom looks pretty narrow - would be great if it fits onto the back of the Ghost again. I'm betting it will. -
As I've previously said, this is the first MOC I'd ever actually pay to get the instructions of!

LEGO Star Wars 2017 Pictures and Rumors
Richpepperell replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The Stormies from the Rebels battlepack are actually completely different. They have a different torso print - the chest plate is more rounded at the bottom and their is less detail on the midrift with the rebels version. The legs are also different - OT stormies have a double line down the centre, Rebels ones have a single line. I have loads of the rebels ones (probably 70% of my stormie army), but I tend to put them towards the back with OT ones in the forefront - especially when on parade for the Emperor! Edit: sorry , I realised the second I posted you were talking about the OT stormies and the ones from the new battle pack. -

Exactly right. Other than the flick fire missiles (thought we'd seen the last of those), the build looks exactly the same as the 'build your own adventure' book. Not even unique. -

I'm not 100% convinced it is the same figure. Hopefully we'll get the the rest of the out of box images soon. Also (and I'm sure this must be wrong) there don't appear to be any spring-loaded shooters on the y-wing. I'd have guessed they be in the position the flick fire missiles were on the old set but there are none to be seen. -

Both battle packs look great for minifigures - plenty of mix and match options for the rebels. I'm really pleased with the y-wing design. I live the last y-wing but was worried this one would be a radical update and make it appear dated. As it is, they'll look fine next to each other. am I right in thinking the astromech has a trans done too? -
@Forresto in the final photo it looks like there's a little ball joint (a Mixels sized one) attached to the underside of the 'knee' - am I right of seeing things? Glad to hear those socket bricks give enough friction - I've got some in a bricklink order on the way!
-
Great, thanks. I actually strolled past my At St on the way to bed last night... an hour later I'd come up with something similar. I'm finding the ball joints I'm using aren't proving enough friction, though my "leg side" one is then bent type - I don't have any of the straight ones you've used. Bricklink...
-
Anyone have any suggestions for replacement legs for Dengar - the plain legs just don't look right. Maybe even just swapping the hips would help.

Picked the resistance troop transport and the eclipse fighter in the TRU buy one, get one half price deal today (free FO general and 3x minifigure pack too). Lucky I went in when I did, there was a scalper clearing the shelves into a trolley (I gave him a suitably hard stare). Just built the resistance transport - fun build, solid, but SO many stickers... awkward ones too!

Certainly seems like a funny selection of sets - much older sets (Tydirium for example) are not marked. Maybe there clearing out some of the poorer sellers ready for all the new sets coming next year. -
Ball joints on top looks nice and feet area nice shape - fancy doing an exploded view of one? I'll be doing my own but it's always nice to see the techniques used! i wonder if these AT ST mods will ever be finished?!?
-
Wow - thanks so much for the amount of effort you've put in to this for our benefit. I'm going to give this a go, but I suspect it'll be a long journey just getting the parts together. Time to break down my 8129 and hit bricklink!

AT-AT MOC (plus-sized -- but not super big)
Richpepperell replied to Raskolnikov's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Can't wait for this! I have PLENTY of LBG to play with and also 8129 that I don't mind breaking down - hopefully the bricklink order shouldn't be too frightening! -
It's been a while since I tinkered with my continually evolving AT-ST, but today I decided to have a go at what I know was a lot of peoples main gripe with the set - the ankles. After building Krennics shuttle, the balljoints used for the wings were still fresh in my mind so I thought I'd give them a try. I'm fairly pleased with the dynamic range of poses I can achieve. The single ball joints didn't give quite as much friction as I wanted and it felt a bit like it could tumble over, so I added some of the extra friction brackets which sorted it out a treat (my Captain Phasma constraction figure is now a bit shorter than she was!). Even the ability to slightly splay the feet out looks a bit better than before. The only problem was the ankle connection which used the grey 3L technic bar (see last photo). This piece was slightly too long, hence the extra technic liftarm/plates (don't know the proper name) on the outside of the ankle. These add nothing to the structure and just make the ankles look a bit fat. My only other option was using the red pin-sized bars, which was too obvious. Any suggests to solve this are welcome!

Love it. I think the scale is perfect for display - I'd pay it in a flash. I also want to see more of that AT-ST, particularly the lower legs! i keep coming back to look at this - I think it's the first moc I'd genuinely pay for the instructions for. Any plans to make them available? -

I just love it - exactly the the size and style I love for a MOC like this. The lighting effects really look fantastic, but I'd also love to see the tan version attached to Jabba's Palace. I'd also completely forgotten about Jabba's stuffed Taun Taun head!

The rebellion logo on both of these helmets looks more like the starbird logo painted by Sabine in Rebels than the traditional Alliance Starbird logo - maybe hinting at some links between RO and rebels. -

I'm with you to a certain extent. Sometimes it's great and adds to a music nifigures (FO general for example) but I think some minifigures look a bit over-cluttered - the red-arm 3PO for example. -

It's going to be from S@H in December. I've jus managed to get one on a trade - it's a great minifigure. -

I popped into my local TRU (Exeter) yesterday and there was no sign of the offer. When I asked though, the assistant produced the shelf signage from under the counter and said they had 100 in stock. They should be on shelves today. Also received email from TRU last night advertising the offer.
