  1. I hope that LEGO's next take at Constraction figures won't be brick-built giant Minifigs. While those have a charme of their own, I don't think they would work that well as an entire line on their own merits. But yeah, something in that direction (as in having proportions which don't try to emulate the proportions of Minifigs in a larger scale, but introducing new parts to make those kinds of figures affordable) could have potential. I wouldn't rule out an overhaul of CCBS to incorporate more brick-built elements either.
  2. I also just browsed through the index, and there were an amazing amount of great MOCs I hadn't seen until now. It also reminded me that I still haven't gotten around to upload new pics of the one MOC I once posted here. And the other TF MOCs that followed...
  3. Sorry to bump this, but I just discovered it thanks to the Constraction MOC index. I also really like the design of this one. It reminds me to some extend of the female Casts from Phantasy Star Online 2. The sword design in particular is pretty neat, makes me wonder if there are any other doors that could be used as blades (either swords, or spears, or maybe even axes) for constraction figures.
  4. This one looks really cool, reminds me of the Triceratops scene from Jurassic Park (yes, the one with the pile of dung).
  5. Who's Ares again? Yeah, in order to make Constraction sets that are more in line with System, Lego would probably need to introduce new parts to make this more convenient. And I'm totally in favor of the "buildable dolls" idea, be it for the simple fact that I might get some animesque heads/faces out of this.
  6. I'm still all hyped for Boba Fett. Darth Vader 2.0 is something I'm entirely unsure about, as I'm very happy with the first rendition I already own. Darth Maul isn't really interesting to me, but I'm nonetheless curious about the parts he comes with.
  7. Yeah, as someone who only buys sets every so often and doesn't pay much attention to the story, I get more a Space than Castle Vibe from Nexo Knights as well. It certainly doesn't help that Nexo Knights is not big on stationary buildings. There are a few inbetween, but most sets are vehicles.
  8. Same here, I also missed the pics. Are they still around somewhere?
  9. Depends on how the Troll figure is designed. It could be either brick built or a single mold (like the normal troll).
  10. Should Nexo Knights indeed give us undead baddies, I do hope they'll go with skeletons rather than zombies. Skeletons are so much cooler IMHO. Also, I'd be much happy if they also make some skeletal monsters to go along, like a Bone Dragon or something.
  11. Yeah, now that you mention it, I also notice how small Vader's helmet is compared to the Stormtrooper. It's really bizarre, considering that Vader is still a head taller than the Stormie.
  12. I'm curious and torn about a new Darth Vader. I got the first one and I'm more or less happy with him, except for the cape. But I'm not really willing to buy another Darth Vader just to get one with a proper cape. Boba Fett though has good chances to get into my collection, as I always liked his design.
  13. I'd say the variety of these pieces help to blend these three themes together, especially since the SW shells work generally fine with the HF ones, except they are occasionally much bigger due to the difference in scale between SW Constraction and LEGO's other Constraction themes. That being said, SW Constraction already introduced a handful of new pieces, so I don't see why TLG should need to fall back on the Bionicle aesthetic. Furthermore, most of the robot themed pieces of G2 Bionicle aren't as greebly as the ones from G1, so as far as MOCing is concerned, all of these three themes work relatively well with each other (btw, you forgot to mention the Chima Constraction sets here, which added a few fantasy-themed elements to the sortiment). I think another factor to consider here is that Constraction figures are not as parts-demanding as brick-built figures around the same size. Things like Nexo Knight's King's Mech or the robot from 31034 Future Flyers are roughly around the same size as Late HF/Early G2 Bonkles, but they include far more parts and therefore have a higher price tag. Meanwhile, things like Chima's Legends Beasts and the Mini-Mecha of Nexo Knights are priced at roughly 10 bucks, but are still rather puny compared to most Constraction figures (maybe they are around the same size as the Slizers, but I wouldn't be surprised if even those were actually taller).
  14. I think it would be more helpful if LEGO would try to mix these two styles even further. They already went in the right direction with the aesthetic of CCBS, which works pretty good with brick-built designs. Personally, I wouldn't have much of an issue with a fully brick-built Constraction Theme if LEGO would simply give us more stuff to work in that direction. And I mean not only the Mr. Freeze-Mech hands here (which I probably have mentioned in my past 5 posts here on EB or so), but also some other stuff, like, I dunno, heads or faces. I would love to be able to build something like characters from Mega Man, but giving these characters a proper face is pretty impossible if you build at the common action figure scale if you choose to remain purist.
  15. I for one hope we'll get something similiar to those Action Suits again, but with those new fancy hands introduced with Batman Movie Mr. Freeze's Mech. Also, gotta love those tags.
  16. I just recently bought a Stormie, and I'm very happy with him, even though the build is not all too amazing and the rear part of the rifle clashes against the shell on his lower arm. IIRC he's my first constraction purchase in quite some time, as most of the SW sets flew over my head and I was also not all too keen on the final wave of Bionicle. I'm pondering about picking another one up, though the shelf where he (and Vader) go is already kinda crowded. I actually even thought about buying three, so I could have the 3rd one for his parts, but I'm not certain about doing this any longer due to the larger scale of the SW characters.
  17. This. So much this. I'm monitoring both this and the Action Forums in the hope that LEGO might be so kind to reveal some more sets which utilize these hands. I mean, if we could get them at least in a more neutral color like grey or black... On another note, this frame looks pretty great. I'll keep in mind should I get tired of building LEGO Transformers.
  18. Speaking of "Friends in Space", IIRC there was theorizing once about how the figs from LEGO Friends (what are they actually called? Dolls? Dollfigs?) would work great for something like EXO Force due to how more animesque they look. Something in the style of Gundam with those dolls as pilots could be pretty cool I think. And yes, part of me wants something like Gundam because my interest in constraction shifts more and more towards brick-built robots instead of CCBS, and I would love to see more parts for use with the Mixel Balljoints.
  19. I like the build of Clay's steed. I guess it's one of those knock-offs you mentioned? Then again, it seems the build could be recreated with official LEGO pieces...
  20. They all look pretty great, but I think my favourite of these is the yellow one. The triangle/arrow shape is really cool
  21. Thanks to the Mixels and their new joints, I've shifted my focus in constraction from CCBS to brick-built constraction recently, but with some inspiration, I might eventually return to CCBS again. I'm looking forward to the things you're preparing for the constraction forum, VBBN.
  22. I have to admit that I haven't looked around in recent weeks (due to being super-busy IRL), but the weeks prior to that, the Stormtroopers happened to be the one set that's sold out everywhere. The others can be still found, but not the Stormy. Same applies to Captain Phasma IIRC.
  23. I'm actually excited for the Stormtrooper Commander, as I missed the previous folks.
  24. Since I like the blend of castle with space, I'd be slightly sad to see Nexo Knights go, but then again, I own only a handful of the smaller sets (which reminds me that I still have to write two reviews...). Out of the summer sets, I like Aaron's Rock Climber and The Heligoyle the most, but even with these two, I'm not 100% sold. The Rock Climber has a nice color scheme, good parts selection and the rock monster it comes with is pretty sweet, but I guess the set as a whole will be too pricey for my liking. This of course applies to The Heligoyle as well, alongside with its rather awkward looking rear section. I like the build of the head and arms though, and the Harpy looks also pretty radical. On a not really related note: Were any new sets shown utilizing the new hand piece introduced with Mr. Freezer's Mech in the current wave (even if not in the Nexo Knights line)? I'd be bummed if this new neat hand piece won't show up in a color that's more versatile than this particular blue (is it sand blue?).
  25. Wouldn't the cape be too short then? I've been also pondering about fiddling with the cape, maybe trying out a different one (I need to look where I've put Furno XL's cape...). Anyway, while his cape looks a bit awkward, I'm still happy that I bought Vader back then. He's a fantastic set.
