  1. I recently bought Umarak the Destroyer, and I like him for the healthy amount of useful parts he comes packed with. His build is also pretty sweet, except for his awkward neck and the lack of armour on his lower legs. I'm still pondering wether or not I should get Ekimu as well. I don't care that much for gold parts, but his transblue looks glorious.
  2. Yeah, I agree on this. I have to admit that I probably set my expectations for those mechs higher than I should, but that is probably my brain's reaction to the LEGO's decision to axe both Bionicle G2 and Mixels (the latter arguably hit me harder since I discovered my love for building poseable brick-build figures). I mean, I have to get new sweet constraction parts somehow. Then again, the mechs do have a decent amount of new and nice pieces, so it's still pretty good. On that note, where are the pictures of the mechs combining with other sets? I can't find them...
  3. I was about to go to bed, but thought "I should check EB again". And of course, the new sets were revealed during my abstinence. I really dig the mechs, though I was hoping for a new joint piece (I want a small cup with cross-axle) and I'm bummed that they don't use the new hands. Aside from that they look great though. Clay and Axl are sure buys for their weapons alone, and the others will be useful too.
  4. I think he means brick-built articulated figure, that's why he mentioned mr freeze's mech. Actually, I mean both forms of Constraction. Building poseable figures is generally my jam, and that's the main reason why I'm such an avid fan of Bionicle and Hero Factory. The Mixels with their new, smaller-scaled balljoints are currently my favourites though, since they allow me to built Transformers which are inscale with the official ones (or other figures that are also in the more typical action figure scale, for that matter).
  5. Thanks for the answer. That saved me the time of going through the discussion in the hope of finding new pictures only to find nothing in the end. Is there any Constraction aside from the aforementioned Mr. Freeze among the DC sets? As for the current discussion, that new minifig looks neat. While minifigs aren't my highest priority nowadays (their heads/helmets are of interest for me though...), I do appreciate LEGO's efforts to make new and appealing figs for their sortiment.
  6. I'm sorry to ask this, but since I have the bad habit to only check in on the action forum rather infrequently, I'm a bit behind, so... Are there any official pictures of the 2017 sets yet? Or are the only leaks on the net yet? Also, those new hands that Mr. Freeze comes with look neat. I'd love to get them in more colors!
  7. Thanks for the reviews! Initially I planned to only get Spinza (because of his eyes, as I have an idea for using these angry eyes), but now I see all the neat parts the whole Nindja tribe comes with, so I will probably get all three of them.
  8. My apologies for not remembering the proper names of all the Kanohi, instead I'll refer to them by their respective characters: GEEWUN Bonkles My Favourites were definitely Tahu's (because it looks so Space Marine-esque), Lewa Nuva's, and Gelu's (that was rather obvious I guess, if you look at my avatar). My least favourites were certainly the Inika masks (though that has more to do with the head design itself), along with the Piraka heads. Also, I wasn't too fond of the Toa Hordika either... though I completely missed out on these guys. Oh, and then there's the design of Kopaka's mask with the lense. While the design isn't bad in itself, I never liked it because it looked so off on a character whose design is as knightly as Kopaka's (though I really liked the Phantoka rendition of it). Hero Factory Furno's and Bulk's 3.0 helmets are pretty boss, and I also always liked Breez' helmets (in pretty much any incarnation). Stormer got also some neat helmets My least favourite (at least among those I own) is probably Furno XL's, since it looks plain awful without its visor on. Bonkles G2 Once again, Tahu's mask is among my favourites (because SPEHS MEHREENS!), and I also like Gali's new Kanohi. The Skull guys also got neat masks. But Lewa's first mask looked really awkward to me. His later mask improved on it, though not by much.
  9. Heh, I actually forgot about the Legend Beasts. That's a good point. Getting sets that are around the same size as the Legend Beasts would be also fine with me, as they had some nice and interesting parts. And assuming they will really be mecha-like suits, I can only imagine they will come with even more stuff useful for me when it comes to build robots/Transformers.
  10. Nexo Knight Mecha Suits? That sounds interesting. Depending on part selection and price point, I could see myself collecting these things.
  11. Now I really want to have a scene in the next LEGO Movie where Duplo Batman shows up and annoys regular LEGO Movie Batman. Personally, I think it would be weirder if the characters from Friends (or Elves, for that matter) would be suddenly represented as minifigures in media work such as The LEGO Movie. While keeping them Minidolls would make certain animations more tricky (as they aren't able to move their legs indepently from each other), not keeping them as Minidolls would basically say that the dolls can only play with the minifigs when they're also suddenly figs.
  12. In the grim future of LEGO Friends, there is only war. I'm surprised that nobody made that joke yet. But anyway, this is an amazing display here. The contrast of all those cute bright colours and the destruction and chaos of a fantasy war scene is just amazing to look at. It also reminds me that the Minidolls would be great figures to make something more animesque - I wish TLC would produce a broader variety of the dolls that would be more fitting for fantasy or sci-fi settings.
  13. If memory serves me right, my LEGO store still has them on the shelves. Besides, I think Bonkles don't move as fast here in Germany as they do in the US.
  14. I think it depends on the Pokémon in question. Smaller critters such as Pikachu may not benefit much from that (though they would look more recognizable than being just a brick), but the taller mons such as Lucario, Mewtwo or Charizard could work well as minifigs. I haven't heard of CYBOTS before, and boy do these prototypes look awkward, but the idea behind it is pretty neat, and I'd be happy if LEGO would actually make a constraction line that incorporates more brick-building. Knight's Kingdom already wandered into that direction, but unfortunately never got really far.
  15. I'm still thinking about picking up a few of the sets from 2016. So far I only got Umarak the Hunter, Kopaka (and his buddy, forgot his name) and Lava Beast.
  16. Yeah, while they are rather simplistic statues, they're recognizable and don't look as weird as the Ionix ones do. Though I think it's a missed opportunity on MEGA's behalf that they didn't made actual minifigures (MEGAfigures?) of the Pokémon, but only of the trainers instead.
  17. Same here. While I liked some of them for their designs, I mostly bought them as parts packs, as they not only provided neat pieces in a variety of colors (sometimes even more "exotic" colors, such as azure or purple), but also for those glorious small joints.
  18. Ionix Ash is the stuff of nightmares. Though I'm actually surprised that GAME FREAK was actually willing to lend the Pokémon franchise for construction toys, considering that they were occasionally a bit weird with giving their IP to others (even more bizarrely, this even applied to other Nintendo games - its apparently the reason as why the Pokémon amiibo aren't really supported by Yoshi's Wooly World). Though I'd prefer if LEGO would go for a brand of their own. Non-licensed sets are less expensive, and it gives them more freedom in designing those sets.
  19. Well, I hope we might get some new constraction either in summer 2017 or in the winter 2017/2018. Hearing that Mixels gets axed is sad, but here's hope that LEGO will provide something else with those neat small joints in the future in a similiar quantity.
  20. I see, thanks for the answer! I was mostly hoping for the short stalk in trans-green because I wanted it in all three current colors, as I consider it more useful for MOCs due to being less prone to trigger the mask drop feature. But oh well, in this case I'll only give two of my MOCs shorter eyestalks...
  21. I recently bought Lava Beast and I was surprised that it uses the older, large eyestalk rather than the shorter one that was introduced in early 2016. Was the new eye stalk not cast in trans-green?
  22. Nexo Knight Constraction, huh? Sounds sinteresting! I wonder how they'll look, considering that the current CCBS is still rather robotic.
  23. I'm not entirely sure why, but since we had Ben 10 constraction sets a few years ago and the new Mega Man Cartoon being made by the same people who made Ben 10, I kinda hope we'll see Mega Man Constraction sets. I'd be super-happy if that would actually happen.
  24. Oh, I wasn't even aware of the new Star Wars Constraction Sets yet! To be on-topic, I wouldn't mind the Mixels disappearing if we actually get more System sets incorporating the Mixel Joints. Maybe small canister sets again, featuring stuff like animals, robots or the like? EDIT: Regarding the catalog, I find it funny that the Australian one omits the Bionicle sets - those are present in the German catalog. My local LEGO store got at least some of the Series 8 Mixels, but both Series 8 and 9 are absent from the German catalog. I believe there was also some sort of rumor about how the later waves won't be released everywhere. Seems like that rumor is actually true.
  25. The German catalog (July - December 2016) also omits the Mixels entirely. I fear they're done then.
