It's okay. The phrases I use, when read, can seem preachy. If you were to hear them spoken, the arrogance gets undercut somewhat. I've had plenty of practice in that arena.
-
Historic is fuzzier. If an is used when speaking the phrase, the 'h' in historic is usually softer spoken or dropped entirely.
-
As the discussion has turned to grammar, I chimed in. I try not to do so on the forums unless prompted. In high school, though, I had a habit of pointing out spelling and grammar mistakes on the boards of all but my English classes. I learned early on that mistakes there were usually part of the lesson, and if not, English teachers take those mistakes harder than others.
-
Actually history uses a, not an, because it doesn't have a silent 'h'.
-
English is such a polyglot language, its rules make it one of the most difficult to learn as a second language. Add to that the places where the language has been transplanted, over many different eras. Even different parts of England have regional dialects, and slang. Add to that the difficulty of some keyboards for typing, as well as the need for expediency that keeps some from proofreading, and you'll see plenty of grammatical inconsistencies.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 17 Rumors and Discussion
gedren_y replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
My local Target sold out of their Minifigures (16 and Disney) four weeks ago. With the Batman series so close, they didn't bother with a restock. Target is pretty reliable with them early on (no mark-up, too), but restock rarely happens.- 1,421 replies

Thanks, all. There are excellent lawn maintenance professionals in Trador. Cap Wolf answered your question. The computer I have to use for LDD is an old Windows 7. Rendering programs are a bit much for it to handle. This was just the preparation. The real ceremony was quite an event. The celebrants that returned to Trador still under the effects of the uisge and mushrooms combo caused quite a stir. -

[Shay Lih is depressed. Reports from Sdair have gotten increasingly worrisome. For months now Stair's party have had to backtrack to avoid Drow patrols. At first, they reported groups of ten, but now the reports say groups of thirty or more. Currently Shay is stewing in the tavern room.] Mora: Your sour red tea, Shay. Shay Lih: Thank Ye, Mora. [Shay tries to muster up a smile for Mora actually using her name. Other things at the tavern have given her less to smile about. That young Avalonian that she kissed during her exuberance, Shay had learned, eats chicken. She shudders at the idea, and thinks it is good that he has left.] [Suddenly, across the tavern room the main door bursts open. In strides Ehfrik Daffys with a wide grin on his face.] Ehfrik Daffys: Mora, yer las' two bottles ahf blue mead, please. [Ehfrik strides over to Shay and whispers in her ear.] Ehfrik Daffys: Ah 'ave found a map. Tell ye more in yer room. Yoose do da reportin', den we go. [Shay downs her tea quickly, resulting in a minor cold headache. As Mora comes over with the bottles of blue mead, she tells her. . .] Shay Lih: Tell Master Gabbold we'll be settlin' ahr account dis afternoon. [With a wan look, Mora nods and heads to Master Gabbold.] Shay Lih: Ah'm gonna miss dat girl. [Shay and Ehfrik head upstairs to make their report, and pack for a long trip.]

On a wide flat plain, two miles southwest of Trador, a new stone circle was built. The altar in the center is dedicated to the Triuri. Tonight is the Winter Solstice, and the first of many ceremonies is going to be held here. As with many structures designed by the Truachesh neh Triuri, the stone circle is oriented precisely with magnetic north. The four stone tables outside the circle are oriented on a 45 degree bias. (full image) The inner ring, where the revelers gather, is filled with crushed limestone. (full image) The altar contains a carved representation of the three aspects of the Triuri, the Maiden, the Mother, and the Crone. (The pillar portion is based on a Christmas ornament design by Chris McVeigh.) Waiting on the altar are an incense burner, a bottle of uisge with the rare mushroom atop it, and a well-preserved, bound copy of the ceremonial text for the Solstice ceremonies. Dearji is a little apprehensive this afternoon, because this will be the first major ceremony that she will be leading by herself. Dearji stands below the carved and painted representation of the Mother aspect of the Triuri. This faces true magnetic north. The Maiden aspect of the Triuri faces exactly 120 degrees east. The Crone aspect of the Triuri faces extactly 120 degrees west. Commodore Uthur McIvar, commander of the Golden Grasshopper, is admiring the stone masons' precise carving skill. All of his crew, even the non-believer Chief Xuan Lo, will be attending the ceremony. (full image) Look at it! With their cargo delivered, most of the crew of the Consort's Duty returned to Trador for their leave, but Captain Missa Drewsa, her long-time lover Callum Dunn, and young Natan deGrosh have stayed for the ceremony. Callum is admiring the Crone representation. He thinks it looks like his mother. Callum will be playing the ceremonial music, on a drum to be brought by one of the local militia. Casks of uisge, goblets to be filled with the drink (then topped by the ceremonial mushrooms), and scrolls printed with the ceremonial songs, if revelers want to sing along to the beat. (full image) Natan doesn't believe in anything really, but he has heard some wild stories about the experiences at these events. He has even offered to help set up for the evening. "Not now," Captain Drewsa tells Natan, "The mushrooms stay stored until the uisge is poured." (full image) Just a shot of another of the tables without anything in the way, to show off the precise lawn maintenance here. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Have a happy Solstice!

The goat has a complicated overmold and printing, so I don't see it happening in CMF. The sheep, on the other hand, should be a single overmold and just eye printing. We have already seen the design in digital format from a Nexo Knights video.- 1,421 replies

@Elostirion covered the basics. Eslandola also has the Truachesh neh Triuri culture (lots of Celtic sounding names) and those who converted to the Triuri faith. My sig fig is a Wandering Acolyte, spreading the faith in the Brick Seas. All my full hulls have been LDD. My next build will be, too.

The Order of the Faith seem to be getting quite upset. Could that Article IV refer to some anti-persecution provision? The Triuri faith has been spreading in New Terra. The build itself is nice and clean. Sure, it doesn't appear that you used any complicated techniques, but the story didn't need cluttered images. That snot table is pretty good, though. -

The other clue was sounding like a re-hash of a fig from the first five series. That's why I settled on Beowulf, because of the CMF Viking. The epic poem was written much later than time of the actual story. Old English, which is close to Dutch with some Celtic conjugation, is a hard read without good translation. I've read pieces of different translations of Beowulf. Now you've decided to suggest a 1000 year window for the character? Are you just teasing, or should I consult my books again?- 1,421 replies

Both Taliesin and Arthur of Camelot are supposed to be sixth century. A Roman Emperor? Let me consult my books. Agustulus? The last ruler of the western Roman Empire? Never mind that, the Roman fig was later. Beowulf was supposed to be fifth century.- 1,421 replies
