  3. @legolijntje's post reminded me that I still have a bunch of un-posted Tiny Turbos models sitting on my PC. More to come... 8192 Lime Racer [Tiny Turbos, 2010] LDR file Errors: - Missing stickers 8193 Blue Bullet [Tiny Turbos, 2010] LDR file Errors: - Missing stickers 8194 Nitro Muscle [Tiny Turbos, 2010] LDR file Errors: - Missing stickers 8195 Turbo Tow [Tiny Turbos, 2010] LDR file Errors: - Missing stickers Edit: Updated with "Errors".
  4. 5763 Dune Hopper (Model A) [Creator, 2011] MPD file 5763 Dune Hopper (Model B) [Creator, 2011] MPD file 5763 Dune Hopper (Model C) [Creator, 2011] MPD file Notes: The rubber bands were created using MLCad's rubber belt generator, so should display in most LDraw-compatible programs. You may notice that the above renders have much lighter shadows than previous ones I've done. This is because I've been playing around with POV-Ray's gamma settings. Prior to POV-Ray 3.7, all scenes were rendered using an "assumed_gamma" setting of 2.2, which does not necessarily produce the most realistic results. With the introduction of version 3.7, a gamma of 1.0 is applied to the scene to make sure that colours are displayed properly (unless an "assumed_gamma" of 2.2 is specified in the file's "global_settings"). Unfortunately, by just setting "assumed_gamma" to 1.0 in a file will cause the scene to render with very pale, washed-out colours (see an example here). The resolution is to force POV-Ray to parse all LGEO colours using SRGB, rather than normal RGB, and this is done in the "lg_color.inc" file. The results look a bit better, but the problems don't end there. The colour of the floor needs to be altered a bit, and so does the fog distance, as this can also cause the image to look washed out. I found that setting the fog with a distance of "LDXRadius*10000" did the trick. Finally, if you are using the SRGB colour space, you have to define the "assumed_gamma" of the file, as if you don't the render will fail. This is resolved by setting a declaration in the "lg_color.inc" file to force a gamma of 1.0 if "assumed_gamma" is not present in the POV-Ray file. I've also found that my current radiosity settings now show up a few more artefacts that were previously disguised by darker shadows, but resizing the images down goes some way to hiding these.
  5. Looking at the LDraw files, it seems that stu2.dat is the low-quality version with 8 sides and stud.dat is the 16-sided version. I don't know too much about converting from LDraw to Lightwave, but perhaps you could try making a copy of stud.dat, rename it to stu2.dat and then copy it over the original stu2.dat? This might force it to convert to a higher-quality Lightwave object. You could even create a very high-quality version of the stud using LDraw's hi-res "48" library of primitives. I was genuinely surprised when I saw that I had topped the list of contributors!
  6. 5540 Formula 1 Racer (Model A) [Model Team, 1986] MPD file Errors: - Missing stickers
  7. 5867 Super Speedster (Model B) [Creator, 2010] MPD file I'm trying to finish up all of the Creator sets I've already posted, by making sure I've done each variation from the set. For the above, I've already posted the A, C and D versions, so figured this one really needed to be done.
  8. 5767 Cool Cruiser (Model C) [Creator, 2011] MPD file Of all the Creator sets I've put together, overall 5767 probably has the most interesting selection of models. Whereas some sets have a great A model and less-than-great B and C models, each of these models is generally an interesting build that ends up with a nice-looking vehicle. @@juraj3579: I really like your renders made using Blender. How long do they generally take to finish? It's also a shame that Blender does not have it's own library of Lego parts, like LGEO used in POV-Ray, as curved parts don't come out perfectly smooth.
  9. 4955 Big Rig (Model B) [Creator, 2007] MPD file 4955 Big Rig (Model C) [Creator, 2007] LDR file From the image alone, the front cockpit windscreens on your 6973 Deep Freeze Defender seem to be Trans Orange, where they should be Trans Neon Orange. Unfortunately, I cannot download the submodels to see (see below). I would recommend using the MPD format, which can be easily created using MLCad. The beginning of the thread states: One set in one file. So not one set in 2 files, or 2 sets in one file. Also, your M:Tron and Ice Planet 2000 Brickshelf pages are currently private, meaning no one would be able to download the submodels anyway.

  12. The LDraw.org site (http://www.ldraw.org/article/227.html) states the following about the use of LDraw parts. I've highlighted the pertinent part in red.
  13. Since I've recently posted the B and C models from 5892 Sonic Boom, it made sense to post the LEGO Club build made from the same parts. Space Scout [LEGO Club] MPD file
  14. GUIDE UPDATE: I have updated the LGEO-Update.zip file in the Downloads section with 9 new parts, 1 updated part and 3 fixed parts. The FIXED, UPDATED and NEW LGEO parts from the 2013-04-05 update It's been a while since I've posted any new LGEO parts, so thought I'd put out the parts that I've done since the last update in January.
  15. A follow-up to one of my previous posts. 5892 Sonic Boom (Model B) [Creator, 2010] MPD file 5892 Sonic Boom (Model C) [Creator, 2010] MPD file The splotches are actually a side effect of using radiosity. "Max trace level" affects transparency and reflection quality, and doesn't need to be set that high. The default is 5, and I tend to use 10. Have you tried these radiosity settings? They're what I use, and are perfect for rendering Lego, although they can be a little slow.
  16. Something for next weekend... 40053 Easter Bunny with Basket [seasonal, 2013] MPD file The particular eye pattern that is used in this set was not available in LDraw, so I have created and uploaded a version to the LDraw Parts Tracker. It can be downloaded here.
  17. Three sets from the Creator series given away as part of a Duracell promotion. Considering that the first two are arachnids, someone at Lego must not have realised that they should actually have eight legs each... 7268 Spider [Creator: Designer Set, 2005] LDR file 7269 Scorpion [Creator: Designer Set, 2005] LDR file 7270 Parrot [Creator: Designer Set, 2005] LDR file
  18. I know the "A" model has already been posted, but this MPD version allows the wings to be rotated properly within MLCad, and the handle that moves them can also be repositioned. 4953 Fast Flyers (Model A) [Creator, 2007] MPD file 4953 Fast Flyers (Model B) [Creator, 2007] MPD file 4953 Fast Flyers (Model C) [Creator, 2007] MPD file The two last models have been rendered using the "Radiosity_Normal" setting, hence a few visual artifacts. I use Paint.NET, which is free and a pretty good image editor. It's by no means at the level of Photoshop, but can deal with layers, transparency, etc.
  19. The cause of the issue in this case is that fog is set. I came across this one too when trying to do a transparent render once, and it took a little while to figure out the problem. If you remove the fog lines (just below your camera settings) this should do the trick. For reference, if you always insert fog into your file (and in my case I use an LDView include to automatically add it), you can set it to not display if the floor is turned off by using the following code: // Fog #if (LDXFloor != 0) fog { distance LDXRadius*100 color rgb 1 } #end The #if switch will turn off the fog if the floor is switched off, which is often the case when rendering with transparency.
  20. Well, yes, technically you don't need to store them in the public folder, but it's so much quicker to get the file path this way if you're browsing the folder on your computer. The "Share link" option from non-Public-folder files seems to always take me to the Dropbox website first. Why do things in two steps when you can do them in one?
  21. The latest from Lego's Architecture line. Click on the image to see a much larger version. 21017 Imperial Hotel [Architecture, 2013] LDR file Errors: - Printed tile not yet available in LDraw FIXED You need to store them somewhere in the Public folder and then get their URL by right-clicking the file and going to "Dropbox > Copy public link". Nothing was meant at all! Edit: Link to larger rendered image. Edit 2: Model updated with printed tile
  22. You appear to have a white "sky sphere" in the file, which is the cause of the issue. If you remove that from your file, it should do the trick. In your file, you need to remove all of the following: sky_sphere { pigment { gradient -y color_map { [ 1 rgb 1 ] } } }
  23. 6507 Mini Dumper [Town, 1989] MPD file I've started work on creating the balloon tyres in LGEO, of which you can see my first attempt above. They're not perfect, and I plan on starting again from scratch, but they're a start. I prefer to use Dropbox rather than Brickshelf, as I found Brickshelf to be fairly cumbersome and often down for a few days at a time. With Dropbox, I can quickly replace files if I need to, and 2GB is more than enough storage for small-ish images and LDraw files. Plus, if you invite friends to use it, you get more storage for free!
