I know there had been a forum crash around then, so not sure if the post vanished! You are more than welcome to do the B and C models, as I remember the A model taking quite some time.     The existing LGEO library located at DigitalBricks.org is the last up-to-date version by Lutz Uhlmann, which included fixes by other people. The file I have available adds further fixes, as well as new parts. If you install LGEO as part of LDraw.org's All-In-One Installer (AIOI), you should be getting both Lutz's and my parts at the same time. As the AIOI is due an update, I cannot yet say if my latest update will be included.

    GUIDE UPDATE: I have updated the LGEO-Update.zip file in the Downloads section with 9 new parts and 1 fixed part. Again, it's only a small update, but it does include a few brand new 2013/14 parts, as well as some that are LSynth-specific. The FIXED and NEW LGEO parts from the 2013-12-31 update I'm going to try and get more parts added this year, as rounded parts (such as the ice cream scoops and "decoration ball" above) really benefit from being rendered using native POV-Ray parts, rather than being converted from LDraw parts.

    POV-Ray 3.6 is essentially "broken" when it comes to correct colour handling. I would very much recommend that you upgrade to 3.7, which has other benefits too. Once you've done that, I would then go back and set all of the colour values in the "lg_color.inc" file back to SRGB. Your image should then appear as expected. Alternatively -- and this is only a work-around, and not a long-term solution -- try entering the following near the beginning of your POV-Ray 3.6 file: global_settings { assumed_gamma 2.2 } This should give you the colour values you're expecting.

    The 2013-02 LDraw Parts Update has been released today, with a total of 570 new parts (although some of these are aliases). Some highlights of the update include new Mindstorms EV3 parts courtesy of Philo, as well as some new parts for 2014 not even available in LDD: A full preview of the new parts can be found here.     This appears to be an issue with how LDView converts the file to the POV-Ray format, and it's happened before in a few other instances. Your quickest fix for this would be to use the "Search > Replace" option within POV-Ray to fix this. In the "Search" field enter: LDX_48_slash_4_dash_4ri100_dot_dat_in_part and in the "Replace with" field enter: LDX_48_slash_4_dash_4rin100_dot_dat_in_part Now click "Replace All" and try again. You should now find that your render will run. I can pass this issue on to LDView's creator Travis, as he has fixed similar issues in the past.

    The CSG parse warning messages are nothing to worry about. There is a minor issue with how some LGEO parts have been constructed that causes this issue to be flagged up. The message referencing the "#version directive" is just telling you that you need to specify "#version 3.7;" at the beginning of the file (if you're using 3.7, that is). Finally, your image probably shows the chequered pattern because you have enabled transparency for your render. If you can see a field above the editor window that contains +UA, try removing that to see if that makes a difference.

    I have to admit that this is probably due to an oversight on my part when submitting my last batch of LGEO files for inclusion in the LDraw All-in-One-Installer (AIOI). The AIOI only includes POV-Ray 3.6 as, at the time, 3.7 was not released as a finalised version and the LDraw team would only release an AIOI with a finalised version of POV-Ray. I had been using 3.7 for a long time prior to this, so the colour file was optimized for 3.7. So, there are two solutions: Install POV-Ray 3.7 (which is now the official release as of 6th Nov 2013). Use Notepad to replace "srgb" with "rgb" in the "lg_color.inc" file. Personally, I would strongly advise that you upgrade -- 3.7 removes a lot of issues and peculiarities from 3.6. It also supports multi-core processing, which means (relatively) faster rendering, and that can only be a Good Thing™. Incidentally, if the AIOI installs all of the files I supplied, there should be a "read me" file somewhere which goes into a little more detail about the RGB/SRGB change.     It's been a while since I've posted a new LDraw model, so here's a small one for All Hallows' Eve... 40055 Halloween Pumpkin [seasonal, 2013] LDR file The set itself does not contain a light, but I couldn't resist adding an inner glow to the render. As many others have said, excellent work on taking this on. I see you've also started on the Modular Buildings – should we expect to see the newer sets in the coming weeks/months?
