  1. Tarn allowed himself a small smirk of pleasure as he cleaved the Tub Mimic in two. Looking around, he saw that his companions had largely taken care of their opposition. Steeling himself once again in the manner that Rystael had taught him, he looked at the Crate Mimic which he will attack from the front row.
  2. I would like to open the drawers and see what's in them.
  3. Also, as someone trying very hard to keep up-to-date with all the quests, I love the interaction between them. I know Jess and Haldor thought about each other in their separate quests, but just recently Sandy's mention of Boomingham, Jebadiahs taking that on, and finally Zepher mentioning Ellaria and wanting a beer in his quest was awesome work!
  4. That was epic! A battle for the ages! Well done Nur
  5. Winston hadn't said much since the arrival at the Montogomery house, but he felt that they were missing something, although he didn't know what. "If the dining room is where Deputy Scott wants to go, I will go with her." Winston heads to the dining room.
  6. I am pleased that this has been an open discourse. I think Bob is entitled to vent a little and that we as players are also able to add feedback. From my perspective, and without addressing points specifically: Things that I like, or things that I feel are going well: 1. I love the sets. They are lovely and give a real feel for the town and what we as townspeople are living in. 2. I like the characters. I think you have assembled some great characters and I think that there are a core of us who have been able to take those characters and roleplay them. I certainly had a lot of fun when we were investigating my residence with what was happening with the artifacts. I also appreciate Peanuts who is following my lead and I feel that we are having some good father-daughter banter which is adding to the game. 3. I want to specifically mention Flitwick and Fugazi for being good players in their roleplay as police officials. They have taken on the investigation mantle and are clearly the leaders of the rest of us normal townsfolk. Things I don't like, or things I am confused with: 1. The town is very big. There are a lot of places to look at and explore. I think some of us are put off by the scale of it so we have targetting "safe" things like residences and the Police Station. 2. The clues. Bob, you say you have given lots of clues but I really feel that we are about as much in the dark in this chapter as we were at the beginning. Perhaps there are too many of us who are new to this, or I am just not seeing these clues. We spent ages looking at the police station, then you said about CCTV, so we looked at those images and they really weren't much use to us. This means we tend to do things piecemeal - go here, talk to people, investigate stuff, go to new place, repeat. It's hard to follow a narrative this way. Just my thoughts anyway. I am glad it is continuing and I do thank Bob for his efforts and the core players who are making it fun.
  7. "Thanks for the Grand Potion, Atramor, and the gold. Seems you've fallen in to being a pretty stout and fairminded Party Leader without even realising it!" Tarn said, smiling. But seconds later he looked on in shock at the Mimics. He'd been just about to search the tub! That could've been embarrassing. "I agree with our Party Leader, make sure we all attack one creature each." Tarn went for the Tub Mimic he'd wanted to search before, from the front row.
  8. Well, I haven't really looked at level ranges for enemies yet, seeing as I don't know the abilities of signed-up heroes. But I was hoping to get some adventurers in that weren't level 1s.
  9. Tarn stretched out after his devastating attacks on the shameless thugs. He thought that Tesni would have loved to see that battle. "Yes, after this rather pleasant diversion let us once again be on our way. To the bookshop!"
  10. WBD, due to his Barbarian job trait, Tarn should heal back 7 health, a health point per level. Also: YEAH! Big-hitting Barbarians do it with style!
  11. "Great! More of my expensive artifacts being manhandled! I thought we had enough of that yesterday!" muttered Winston. I would like to investigate the warehouse.
  12. I have been given the rather dubious honour of hosting Quest#13. Nothing can go wrong with that, can it? Just kidding Sandy! The pitch/signups will be up very soon, although I really would like some of the quests to have finished because as far as I can tell, we only have one or two new guys kicking around the Hall at the moment.
  13. Berzerker looks really cool! I was originally thinking of the already-revealed Shaman (Barbarian/Cleric) for Tarn, but perhaps Barbarian/Knight would also work!
  14. Happy birthday Hinck, hope you have a great day.
  15. Tarn gasped as the thug's dagger pierced his flesh. Steely-eyed, he shouted to the thug "Well done, but now it's my turn again!", attacking Werewolf Thug (Dagger) from the front row.
  16. Although polite and thoughtful outside of combat, in battle Tarn exults in his Barbarian power, knowing he can deal the enemy a mighty blow. After felling the first thug he screams in victory and charges at Thug (Dagger) from the front row with Kyrferath swinging in a wide arc.
  17. The blood thunders in Tarn's ears as he hefts Kryferath and runs in to attack Werewolf Thug (Spear) from the front row.
  18. "I agree that for our less experienced adventurers, the mead and smelling salts would be advantageous, but I think I'll keep mine handy for now", said Tarn to Atramor. "For Heroica!" he joined in the rallying call.
  19. WBD, thanks for refunding Tarn's money. He was brought up to be polite and do the right thing, so it fitted his character to do that.
  20. Tarn wants to get in there and flash his axe around, but knows he has to defer to Atremor's decision as party leader. He is pleased to see that the party, though mostly inexperienced, share his values and immediately want to help. "C'mon Atremor, we can take these fleabags and help those people!"
  21. "Did we get what we needed from the docks? I believe we couldn't investigate it properly as the evening was drawing on. Perhaps we should start there today?"
  22. Tarn hands the shopkeeper an additional 20 gold to compensate for using up all the ingredients. He thinks it's a small price to pay for getting hold of the Essense of Obsidian and should hopefully help calm the shopkeeper. "For replacing your cloak, sir", he said politely. Rystael wouldn't have it any other way.
  23. Winston hugged Amber to him protectively as he joined in with the shock of the townsfolk of Lexington. "What a horrible, horrible night" he said, "But where does this leave us with the investigation? To be honest, I think we all thought Alex may have been involved, and I was still pretty suspicious of poor Detective Jackson."
  24. I am really digging the interplay between Maurice and Nur, great work guys. Creating plot points out of random game events (the battle die) to further the story progression of your characters is superb.
  25. Tarn pays 10 gold to have the ingredients restocked. "I'm not going to mix up another batch just for these little injuries", he says to the knight. "However I think we need to really think about what we have seen and what effects each ingredient has had on the batches we have produced so far, see if there're any constants we can work out."
