  1. So WBD, are you happy for me to have an axe hollow-bladed?
  2. The article links the popularity of these "pocket money" mini items to the recession, and there may well be something in that, in that money is tighter for families and these are ideally priced.
  3. WBD, could I pay for my axe to have a hollow blade? Are there any limits as to which weapons could have the technology? Also, that would pretty much be all of the parties gold reserves gone. Perhaps not a great idea! But so tempting to further enhance Kyrferath
  4. Tarn, polite and yet fearsome in battle, was not the sharpest knife on the hunter's belt. He wouldn't have much chance in actually solving a riddle, but hearing Sir Glorfindel's musings on the answer being an egg, nodded enthusiastically. "I believe our valiant Knight could be onto something here. Perhaps it is a place, or perhaps we need to look for an actual egg on our travels." Tarn looked again at the glass blowers, hefting Kyrferath and considering the possibility of fitting it with the hollow blade technology. "A gem-enfused hollow bladed weapon would truly be a marvel," he murmured.
  5. Hi all, I saw this on the BBC website and thought it was very interesting: BBC article about minifigures It says that the collectable minifigures are "ranked by industry analysts NPD as the biggest selling toy by value in the UK in the first nine months of the year". Personally I have seen the series fly off the shelves in supermarkets like Tesco, so I am not surprised. Their blind-bagged minifigure section has grown and grown, especially with Mega Bloks and Character Options jumping on the bandwagon with Halo/Marvel and Dr Who/Army single, blind-packed figures respectively. Clearly, it has been a huge success for Lego and I am sure will have a knock-on effect on its popularity. If this is best off in the Special Themes forum, can a Mod please move it
  6. Winston would like to ask if he could have the rifle for his collection.
  7. I do like the sound of that egg guess, soccerkid. I had to give it only a quick look over breakfast this morning, but having more time now I think you could be right. And no probs on the enemy smashing. Tarn is just following in a line of useful Barbarian big-hitters like Eric and Tesni, but enjoying it immensely
  8. Tarn's nose wrinkled in confusion as he considered the cleric's strange words. "I think he must've worked out what the old werehound was saying earlier, but even though we know the words it's as much a riddle as it was before."
  9. "I'll take this thug down too, don't worry!" shouted Tarn to the party after he had taken down two enemies in a frenzy of whirling axes. Tarn will once again attack Werewolf Thug (Crossbow) from the front row.
  10. I'm glad someone else said something about bricksandparts, after our little spat about what makes a Barbarian, I didn't want to look like I was picking on him. It's incredibly annoying and completely takes you out of the game. There's no need at all to have consecutive posts containing only OOC comments! If you are having trouble roleplaying Alf as a simple man, then try to think of ways to fix that. We live in a magical fantasy world, it shouldn't be too hard.
  11. Snarling in equal measures of pain and frustration, Tarn attacks the Werewolf Thug (Crossbow) from the front row again.
  12. Tarn will attack the Werewolf Thug (Crossbow) from the front row.
  13. I think it's totally acceptable to feel the packets. For Series 4 I got the full 16 with no duplicates except a second surfer girl for my friend at work. (I get her one minifig per series, the pink one!). Series 5 I've not been so successful. That's just the way it goes.
  14. Tarn listened to the youngster explain his grandpa's malady. Like Elgar, he noticed the repeated use of the number 3, but not much else. "Perhaps we should head to Mandrel's Curiosities Shop in the meantime. Or, as Glorfindel wants to, perhaps we can go see old fishyface again."
  15. I would like to pet the kitty.
  16. Blimey, WBD. I really hope that isn't an anagram!
  17. Tarn was a bit taken aback at being given the scroll. He had not spoken aloud about his teachings from Rystael and his wish to one day gain the knowledge of the way of the cleric, to become a true warrior-priest. He took the scroll anyway and thanks Atramor. He then looked with interest at the glass-blowers weaponry, sad to see that none of it was suitable for a Barbarian. He was fascinated by the process though, and watched the artisans at work with almost a childlike glee.
  18. I'm in the same boat as others - most of these funnies do make me smile and I thank everyone who contributes for that. It's just hard to keep posting "Great job" after each one! This is the same reason I don't post much in the SW funnies thread, and that one also makes me smile.
  19. Well, you guys are among the highest level in all of Heroica. It's gotta be hard balancing Quests for you!
  20. That was a lot more in-depth than most of their surveys. Still amazed by the colour one. They'll have us all doing Rorsasch tests next
  21. "See, this is the sort of thing I was talking about. Getting all our clues together and seeing if they shine any more light on things. I will mention one thing, because I feel I have to. Of the brown-haired men that Firefighter Sue said she may have seen, one is in hospital and one is dead. I'm surprised that I am not under more suspicion, even though I know I am innocent."
  22. Great use of the plumes as leaves! This is a beautiful MOC, full of atmosphere.
  23. Happy birthday Peppermint, hope you have a lovely day and that Tesni finally takes care of those pesky goblins
  24. Winston stands up straighter and addresses the group. "Look, this is getting us nowhere. We have searched residence after residence and found nothing. I have nothing but the greatest respect for your enthusiasm, even after we went through my home with a fine toothcomb. But I really think we must have missed something obvious, because we are just shooting in the dark here. I propose we go through the information and intelligence we have found so far as a group, analyse it, and see if we can get new leads. I really can't see the point in going to everyones house and turning it upside down wily-nily." He looked at Deputy Scott imploringly. He knew the police were key to the investigation.
  25. Sandy, your Auditorium is incredible!
