  2. Not a sale as such, but now Halloween and Bonfire Night are out of the way, Swindon Tesco has started its Christmas reset, which gives a lot more shelf space to toys. As well as the standard Lego section, there's a special section with a red Technic supercar and the Millenium Falcon in cases, along with loads more larger sets that they had not previously carried, from all kinds of themes: Harry Potter Hogwarts, SW Podracers, Alien Conquest Headquarters, etc. The standout price was the NinjaGo Fire Temple, which was £77, matching Amazon. Might be worth exchanging some clubcard vouchers for double points now! Also, the two 2011 Advent Calendars were there, I believe at £18 each.
  3. I think Oky's take on Mr Freeze is very cool (heh) so I would be happy to play someone else if it meant I got in. My other choice for someone who I believe hasn't been picked yet would be Deadshot (go Floyd!), but I'd play anyone but Simon The Pie-Man, as I have no idea who he is (I don't watch Brave and the Bold).
  4. Happy birthday to you both, especially Masked. Glad you had a great day!
  5. Tarn nodded enthusiastically at Sir Glorfindel's last suggestion. The fact that Julian had bought a turban at Mandrel's Curiousity Shop had intrigued the young Barbarian since he had heard of it. In no other shops was Julian credited with buying something other than the ingredients needed for the Guild. Perhaps the turban was a clue to where he had gone or been taken? Tarn thought it was worth checking.
  6. Tarn was highly suspicious of the alchemist's motives. Tesni had been right to be suspicious, no good could come from messing around with those ingredients. He imagined her taking control in her own unique way, using her sword to good effect on this doctor. He put that rather entertaining image out of his head to address Doctor Mynatt. "Sir, I find it astounding that you are willing to risk an outbreak of a highly dangerous plague purely on the whim of one of your customers. No amount of alchemical safety procedures would ever make the virus not a threat to the local population. We will certainly keep looking for Julian but we will need to discuss amonst ourselves whether to release the ingredients to you now that we know what they are being used for." He looked at Atramor, hoping the Rogue party leader would back him up on this, as it seemed to be the view of the majority of the party.
  7. Tarn shook his head. "We haven't found Julian yet. We were hoping you fine folk might remember more details - like what this magic turban did and where he might go once he had it?"
  8. "Seeing as we haven't really got any leads, I'd be happy for us to get Sir Glorfindel kitted out."

  10. Tarn grimaced as the rain fell, soaking him. He knew his hair would get frizzy in a moment. He nodded to Sir Glorfindel. "If it gets us out of this infernal weather for a few minutes then let's go back to the fish market."
  11. Tarn was impressed by William's deductive skills in solving the riddle. He'd just wanted to cleave the two annoying grobs in half and be done with it. "I am not sure. If Julian has been taken we have no idea by who. However Fort Boneparte has come up in our discussions before so perhaps that's a good choice".
  12. I think you all need to chill for a bit whilst we wait and see which other enemies of the Bat show up.
  13. Victor Fries reporting in. You rabble need a true scientific genius to inspire you, someone cold and calculating. My cryo-freezing technology will one day save my darling wife, but for now I will use it to ensure victory in this mafia game! - Your chosen character Mr Freeze - Your availability during the coming few weeks Around all the time - Your previous Mafia game history I passed in Hinckley's "Fabuland Housewives" Mafia School, and played in def's "The Coming Darkness" Mafestry game. - Your existing interest in the Batman universe I have loved Batman since I was little. I say Batman, I really mean Robin. When I was about 5 my mum made me a Robin cape and I wouldn't answer to my real name, I wanted to be known as Robin! I have many Batman graphic novels and enjoyed playing Arkham Asylum and its current sequel. I really love the two Nolan films for their more realistic portrayal compared to the previous films. I may well use Arnold for a bit of inspiration as Freeze though. His one-liners were so bad, they were good! editFlitwick, you took The Ventriloquist! Awesome. I thought of you the moment I saw him in the possible characters list
  14. Oooh a chance to roleplay as a batman villain? Awesome! I shall have to have a good think about the audition and then give it a go. Good luck to all who enter!
  15. Go on Alexis! You can do it!
  16. Alf is becoming a true Barbarian!
  17. Tarn looked around the shop, content to let Elgar question the Orc shopkeeper.
  18. I think the one theme that would be a good fit with the CMF concept (should it ever come to pass) would be Lord of the Rings. There would be the opportunity to create several different army builders at once (orcs, hobbits, dwarves, elves), plus they'd throw in some regular characters so the kids could get a few of the main characters.
  19. No worries WBD, you are doing a great job as Quest Master
  20. As I said before, the characters and sets were fantastic Hinck, and I loved the Mafia in-jokes too, now that I've been watching long enough to get them. My only complaint (maybe that's too strong a word) is that because it was a shared action game, the day threads were pretty much dead. I know you guys must've been working your megablocks off behind the scenes, and the day threads were played in character and that was a lot of fun, but it did lack the drama that a "proper" Mafia game has. Bloodbrick II avoided that pitfall because everyone had to choose their meds publicly. Here it seemed like we (er, the audience, for want of a better word) didn't get to see a large portion of the game. So much of it was played "behind the scenes".
  21. Congrats to the Town, I think after a couple of very rocky days at the start alliances were formed and that helped. Plus having a pretty intuitive vigilante! Huge respect to badboy for his hosting and also the sets - bright and colourful and also fun characters, just the way we like 'em!
  22. "Do you think we have time to check out some of the other rooms?" Winston heads for the Master Bedroom.
  23. "That sounds like a good plan of action!" Tarn said. He didn't feel the group were as tight-knit as his friends in Quest#5, but it had been partly the gloom of the cave and the horror of the undead that had brought the adventurers together. This quest was different, however with several battles successfully fought and some puzzles and encounters navigated with distinction he thought things were going pretty well.
  24. Tarn equips the hollow blade axe with a Mead, smiling as he does so. "Potions, no... what I need is even more strength in battle..." he murmured. Turning to his companions, he spoke up. "I am happy to go back to Gurnam as Sir Glorfindel requested. I believe he wants to go see the loan shark. But after that we must hasten to our final destination, Mandrel's Curiosity Shop."
  25. "Hold up Atramor, I would like to upgrade Kyrferath before we depart." Tarn goes to the glass blowers and carefully presents the battle axe that had been one of the Porthiar's prized possessions, which had later been elemental gem-enfused by Anwyl the Blacksmith. "Please take care with this weapon, it is very precious to me", he almost whispers. Tarn also hands across 50 gold, leaving him with 19.
