Heroica RPG- Quest #67: Nova Tertia
Rumble Strike replied to Capt.JohnPaul's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Perhaps it would be best to let me attack the non-Stunned enemy in the hopes of a Ravage so that I can whittle down their health. Then you all pile in if necessary? Surgical strikes are needed here, we can afford no mistakes." -

"I can't afford to lose control with two Ravages as that would kill the Bird. We cannot risk that." -

OOC: I couldn't connect for about 4 hours. Tarn was Encouraged so should have done 72 damage to every enemy rather than 36. -

Mindful that they needed to take two of these for specimens, Tarn switched to Lion's Heart and attacked Bird A and Reptile B from the front row. Bors attacked Reptile A from the back row. -

OOC: Tarn should be Hastened, Encouraged and Lucky. Also as you said we rested before heading off, can we get our health back? Tarn grinned evilly behind his mask as he saw the flying beasts. He realised he would be doing eight times normal damage a hit on those enemies so he raised Helbaerend and attacked Bird-like Sapiasaur B and Bird-like Sapiasaur A from the front row each time. Bors attacked Reptilian Sapiasaur A from the back row. -

Tarn accepts his loot from Haldor with a smile. He then takes a Mead, Smelling Salts and Nostrum' explaining "After being knocked out I'm taking no chances! I am ready to head out when everyone else is." -

Tarn dusted himself down, his armour dented from the hits he had taken from the giant lizard. "If it helps, Benji, I need not the Skin nor the Claw Knife, as my armour and weaponry are at least the equal of those. However I would not say no to any of the consumables. My strategy now will be all-out attack." -

OOC: Sadly Natural Respite only gives Tarn a health increase the amount of his level, so it would be 1 (starting HP) + 23 (level) = 24 health, not full health. Also not entirely sure if 95 gold is correct, seems a bit high to me but won't complain -
That photoshoot is awesome!

OOC: Thanks, I didn't want to overstep any boundaries. I love what you are doing with both characters in the "Crocodile Hunter" style :) I think we are good to run the round then. -

Following his rousing speech, Bors attacks the Allenoid from the back row. OOC: CJP, I don't know how much actual roleplay I am allowed to do with Bors, I didn't know if I could make him respond to Benji myself, or if you prefer to speak for him at all times? -

Seeing Alan and Tarn fall to the Allenoid, Bors does nothing except take his hat off in a gesture of respect. -

Tarn stumbled back from the hit of the claw, managing to stay on his feet, but then he saw Bors take a similar hit which threw him back into the undergrowth, unconcious. "Bors, hold on! Don't worry, I'm coming!" Thanks to the hollow blade in Helbarend, Tarn knew he could use his Phoenix Essence on Bors whilst still attacking the right claw from the front row. When revived, Bors will stay out of the way and do nothing. -
Good luck Joe! You have a keen eye for the battle calculations so I'm sure you'll do fine.

Using Helbaerend from the front row, Tarn attacks the right claw. If it is defeated, he will attack the left leg, if both are defeated, he will attack the Allenoid itself. Bors follows Tarn's actions from the back row. -

Tarn was getting frustrated that they hadn't been able to finish off the Allenoid whilst it was asleep. "Let's finish this!" he roared, attacking the right claw from the front row with Helbaerend. Bors, getting a bit antsy, attacks the left leg from the back row. -

Tarn nods at the orders of his party leader and attacks the left leg from the front row using Helbaerend. Bors again does nothing. -

Tarn screams in pain as the giant lizard savages him. He drags himself up, fury blazing in his eyes, and ignoring the protests of his battered and bleeding body runs straight back at his foe, shouting an ancient curseword, and attacking the right claw from the front row, still wielding Helbaerend. Bors, seeing Jeaux snatched and Alan hold back, decides to similarly do nothing, worried that the chance of falling foul of the beast was greater than the little damage he could inflict. -
Boomingham with a comb-over! Many's the truth told in jest, eh

"Don't worry about that twitchy leg, I can damage it more than it damages me!" shouted Tarn confidently, indicating that Bors should continue attacking it. He once again hefted Helbaerend and attacked the left claw from the front row. Bors stayed in the back row and aimed at the left leg. . -
I love Nerwen's calm and measured response to the were-bat.

Tarn raised an inquisitive eyebrow at Haldor, not really understanding the Nord's meaning. He cleared his throat, and turned to the Assassin. "Benji, to test whether you can hurt the main body of this behemoth, perhaps you should only attack it once, and focus on another part of the beast with your second attack?" -

"Look at the size of that thing!" gasped Tarn as he looked up... and up... and up at the creature. He held Helbaerend tightly, knowing that it would do double damage against Beasts, and attacked the left claw from the front row. Bors stayed in the back row and aimed at the left leg. -
I really like seeing all these alternates. I agree that we are definitely due a Quest where everyone ends up different (classes/powers/gender) or swaps round for the duration. As this is a fantasy/magic setting I think we could easily fit it in and justify it.
