That exactly what I had in mind. I do agree, the taillights are too low. I did not foresee that. Oh well, thanks for posting my idea! I still love this car

I'm pretty sure the composition has changed slightly. The elements like the modified plate w/ clip is somewhat flexible. Compared to the early ones, if you tried to bend them, for better grip, they would usually snap off. They may even be less toxic, though I'm somewhat sure they weren't, toxic, to begin with. I used to keep many of mine in the attic for a couple of years. We have 95+ F in summer and below 32 F in winter up there. My layout was also in a room that gets quite cold/hot, albeit not as the attic, throughout the year. They are all fine. Many from the layout were exposed to those temp changes for over 15 years. I clean mine in water hotter then 104 F (except for baseplates) and don't have any problems either. Others on here recommend luke warm though, just to be safe. I'm pretty sure 104 F is probably a recommendation so children don't burn themselves. ABS is pretty durable. I would guess anything mother nature will throw at them, so long as they are in a house or building, they can handle. If you are still weary, get you favorite or most prized and store them in a closet or cabinet

Nice Viper 'DrNightmare'. This is my favorite actual car of all time... Nothing like 19 years of 400++ bhp and no traction control. Good idea revising the back though the trunk lid has a sharper curve. Maybe this part: This way you can also lose the red 2x2 plate below the tail lights and get the rear deck level. Keep up the great designs

Excellent layout 'Slovakiasteph'. It's great to see it as a whole! The houses are wonderful. I especially like the lt bgrey with red roof and the white duplex against the wall but they are all great. Keep up the wonderful builds

Since it's opened, I'd take the entire 9V assembly to a local hobby shop that specializes in trains and other small motored electronics. Let them suggest an adequate replacement motor

While looking for my instruction book for 6397 Gas N' Wash, I found this mini catalog. I wish Lego would still make them. The little scenes they set up were always fun to look at, IMO. Anyway inside the first page below 'Jack the Lego Maniac's message was this. I thought I'd share it with everyone Here is the recommendation: And the booklet from 1992 it's in:

How much did you spend on Lego in 2011?
LEGO Guy Bri replied to Legacy Man's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Many used to be in a layout, seen in my sig. Since the collection has quintupled in size, I decided it was best to get those that were NIB or not in the layout out of the attic, box up the layout and use that room for climate controlled storage until I can move them into a much larger room for a new layout. Parts from BL do go into small, relatively simple MOCs -
Another great MOC 'Farnheim'. This one reminds me of a classic take on the new recycle truck, with a bonus feature of the lift arm. What kind of trucks do you use for inspiration? Keep up the great builds

I don't do much selling or trading at all. I think maybe 30-40 sales over 2 years. I only have a hand full of sets to-be-sold. The rest are in those big stacked containers in a closet (previously my layout room) -
What % of your Lego Collection is Pirate?
LEGO Guy Bri replied to TheLegoChronicler's topic in LEGO Pirates
.24% but, I'm not big into collecting other themes from City or City-like sets. This, though, has always been one of my lesser favorites. I love my IFS and it has me thinking about the QAR and Black Pearl -
Very nice house 'Badsneaker'! Haunted indeed, I like the red trim used. A very nice contrast between the grey and black. For some reason, this makes me think of the movie Edward Scissor Hands... Anyway, great job on this house

To repeat what has been said before, that is stunningly huge! Fantastic job creating this master piece

Bummer indeed, how about an entire palm sized set or MOC or take a part from a set to have signed? You can always get a replacement from Bricklink. It's a bit tough to pin point a specific part as I am not sure what you do or don't have, only guess and suggest

Hey Ed, I think this tile or this baseplate would be good for a signature and a small message. They are a bit bigger and easier to see if it goes on a wall or desk, etc. As for sharpie, it is very hard to remove from Lego, so you are in luck in that department! I hope you have some of these parts, best of luck

A bunch of old-school-looking emergency vehicles (many pics inside)

Awesome classic style rescue trucks 'Farnheim'! They look great, very detailed. And excellent job on the lift gate on the last model. That is very clever! Keep up the great work -
Awesome group of fire trucks 'H. PATROL'. A big thumbs up to the aerial platform truck, that thing is HUGE! Great job on all your trucks

Today I ordered a couple small BL orders including one 7634 Tractor and from eBay, two 3677 Tipper Cars. Lastly I finally won a 4549 Container Double Stack and a second 4555 Freight Loading Station. Both a little more than I wanted to pay but, still way lower the BL

I never dismantle sets for MOCs even if I have multiples... I just can't bring myself to do it. While I enjoy my minifigs, especially the newer, detailed ones, I tend to buy the set because it appeals to me, minifig or not. I do use Bricklink or left over parts from friends donated old collections for MOCs

It's all tedious work... But, would you mind showing us your layout when you get a chance? I would love to see it

How much did you spend on Lego in 2011?
LEGO Guy Bri replied to Legacy Man's topic in General LEGO Discussion
After reading some of the replies, I feel much better about mine. I figured I averaged of $800+-/mo, so around $9,600. Pretty much the same for the last 2 years I think I may have a hoarding issue... Hopefully this year will be a little calmer as I am spending much less on discontinued sets -
Fantastic creation 'Konajra' and an awesome concept! It looks great close up, any chance of more shots of the upgrades and equipment?

Feedback on Lego price comparison website
LEGO Guy Bri replied to a topic in General LEGO Discussion
Maybe eBay? Though it's not a retailer, it does have completive prices with sets currently available from other retailers -
Hi 'Paul B', I think I can help you with your questions, At higher speeds, trains do tend to derail on regular curve tracks. If you run them at high speed you need to make longer gradual bends using straight tracks but, this requires a lot of space and track. It's easiest just to run them a bit slower, I used to run mine at a mid range. Yes, all trains from the 1960's to present use the same gauge track and are interchangeable. When it comes to motors, there are specifics. 9V motors to 9V tracks, 12V to 12V tracks, etc. Power Functions (PF) and RC can run on any track as they need no electrical contacts to get power. This one, I can only say, trial and error. Whatever you can make fit and will provide a full circle for the train will do. A smaller circle is about all you can do with this layout. Hope this helps

... because I'm not overly complex, have no problem fitting in anywhere, and I have many uses
