Good story, and interesting use of parts. The Rowboat roof is not a use of parts I've seen in a while.

Nice build Bodi! I especially like the little rowboat on the deck, it's a nice real world detail. The rigging and sails are impressive, and all in all she looks great!

Nice Foliage Evan, and it's a well put together build

Nice build, and I like the use of the golden rodents near the roof. I like the window pieces as well. I'm also impressed with how put together the build is, while staying so compact. Great Job!
-
Nice build Bodi! Quick reaction too! I like how the fort is sloped, and the build is well put together.

Simple but effective, and good use of the Sun Sails from Jabba's Barge. Your terrain looks great (and I need to get on brickli nking some tiles so I can recreate it!) and the build has a good selection of pieces. Nice job!

[SR - FB]Scandal in Mesabi Landing
Mesabi replied to TomSkippy's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Absolutely hilarious @TomSkippy! I love all the different animals used for 'milk' and the use of parts is done quite well as well. I like the little "hand launch spray" in white being used as a milk mid spill, and the tiles on the floor as spilled milk looks great as well. The fromagerie in Bastion is a fantastic tie in as well. Also, I'm recalling that Simpson's episode as well now too, and that's making me laugh more! -
[OL - FB Royal Collab] Eltina Royal Quay (UPDATED)
Mesabi replied to CapOnBOBS's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Excellent builds Bodi and Cap! The scenes are busy and full of life, and all in all they look amazing! It's always awesome to see someone get their whole collection out for a giant build, and both look great. Great Job! -
Thanks for the kind words Kai! I liked the look of having a waterfall, it was slightly silly, but still period accurate, i.e. much in line for the Count. Maybe less so for other people's characters though... Thank you NOD! Thank you Maxim! Glad to know I've improved, means a lot since I put a lot of effort into this one. Thanks Thuam! The Palace will come over time, I'm making it an ongoing project. The "Garden Man" is a slightly obscure reference to a character that @Darnok added years ago, but refuses to let me develop, because "He's mysterious" So he's hiding in the Garden here Thank you Bickwolf! Thanks Bodi!

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II

Real quick, I've always been a bit confused by this: Is this still per MCRA, or is this per month? I've seen some monthly happen, so I just wanted to check. -

Oleon: Sign-up and Discussion, Era II
Mesabi replied to blackdeathgr's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I take this as complete and utter permission to continue the Count's reign of terror. -
Location: Mesabi Landing Type: Royal Collab Part 1 Part 2 It was a fine day in Mesabi Landing... From the third floor window, the Count peered down at the gardens of his luxurious mansion. Darby walked in panting. "Uh, Count, the meeting is about to start! And I got lost trying to find you!" Said Darby, exasperated. "How many rooms does this place have?!?" "Well Darby, I'm disappointed you didn't use a ball of twine to make sure that you didn't get lost." Said the Count. "That's what Thesus did, and he got the girl!" Just hurry up, Mordo is waiting!" Muttered Darby. Down 2 flights of stairs the pair hurried, before finding themselves next to a curtain of water. "Just through this secret passage into the Garden!" Exclaimed the Count. He lept into the water... and emerged on the other side. "Mordo! Good to see you!" Said the Count. "I arrived as soon as it would be dramatic to do so." "Mesabi," Mordo growled. "There's business to discuss. Business of invasions." "waaagh!" *Spash!* Darby slipped and fell into the river. "And now that we're all here, we can begin. Thanks for keeping us waiting, Darby..." said the Count. The Count removed a large knife, and began gesturing to the map. "So, Fatu Hiva. Oleon's furthest settlement. Here, they are far from the hope of ever being saved by the Oleander crown." "Uh, sorry Count. Now Fort Altrees or Jiangkai is technically the furthest away Oleander Settlement." Said Darby. "Wait really? How $#$#@ing long were we doing other things?" muttered the Count. "Too Long!" growled Mordo. "Now let's hear the plan." "Ok, so they have 2 forts. One big one, and one small one. We don't want to confuse them!" Continued the Count. "Uh, Count, there's someone watching us." Said Darby, gesturing to the mysterious cloaked gentleman hiding n the garden. "That's just the WTC Inqui-" began Count Mesabi, before Mordo slapped a hand over his mouth. "Ahem." Said Mordo in a more grave tone than usual. "Ah, yes, that's a, uh, 'garden' person." finished Count Mesabi. "Stop staring, it's rude!" "Continuing," said Mordo "So, we send a fleet of WTC ships, attack from the west flank, destroying the forts with our overwhelming firepower. We then land the WTC Rising Sun, the WTC Copperhead, and the WTC Seriously to land divisions A, B, and C on the beach." Said the Count. "Ok..." replied Mordo "We then use a pincher maneuver to land the rest of the troops in an epsilon formation... Darby, are you jotting this down?" Asked the Count. "Was I supposed to?" asked Darby. "Also, my paper got soaked coming out of the waterfall!" "Ok, you know what, we'll just go over this when we're on the way." "What's Tony supposed to do?" Asked Tony, with a suave smile. "Can't have him stealing my glory..." muttered the Count, "Hey, I know, why don't you go take out Ile le Sous le vent!" "Can do, Mr. Mesabi" Said Tony, in a cool voice. "That island is as good as dead!" The WTC marines scattered, mostly following Tony. "Alright, let's load up everyone." Said the Count. "Time to do what one rowboat couldn't...." FIN Thanks for viewing my conclusion! I spent more time on this build than I planned. Originally, it was supposed to be a pond surrounded by terraces, but I liked the idea of a river, and then added a waterfall, and well, I ended up doing one of the sides of the house. This build will be part of my builds to put a royal palace in Mesabi Landing, but I have quite a few studs to go, so we'll circle back on that later! I also would have liked to have added more greenery, but unfortunately, it seems that most of my plants are in storage. I think this turned out nice as is, however. The doors are probably the weakest part of the build, as I added them late in the build, so they're a bit underdone, but not bad looking in my opinion. I got the custom printed "Hand punching out of earth" bricks from my mum at an art gallery. I'll try to link the artist if I can find it. It's very thematic to my style, so I've been meaning to use it forever, and I think it looks amazing here. Why does the Count have a waterfall built into his mansion? Why wouldn't the Count have a waterfall built into his Mansion. If your character was smart, they'd have a waterfall built into their mansion! Views of the entire build: I hope you all enjoyed my build and story! C&C appreciated!

Excellent use of parts! I especially like the little crane, it's quite creative! -
We'll expect your arrival! Well, it never came up for 3+ years, until @Ayrlego asked a few months ago, and I actually had to decide on his first name My apologies, the WTC's translation department had a bit of trouble translating such an odd and nonsensical name, and arrived at "Filipo" as a translation. We'll make sure that King "Phil-imp" and Queen "Butt-Rice" are properly addressed going forwards.

Good Work Oleon! Your builds really showed great effort, and I'm glad to see that you took the settlement. As to my work... " To the representatives of Mr. King Filipo I, The Wayfaring Trading Company has enacted a grand military invasion upon the island of Île Sous le Vent. After decimating the local garrison* the WTC advanced upon the Oleander Occupation of the island** and toppled it with a full assault force of the WTC's might!*** Now, Île Sous le Vent is firmly in the hands of the WTC... As such: Île Sous le Vent is hereby named "Soup Island" for ease of communication. Why on earth did you put that triangle over the top in the first place!? Really, this one is us doing YOU a favour!***** All new construction by Oleon in this location is paused until further notice, or approval by Corrish Governments. A Squatter Settlement named Port Chowder is to be built on the island. The Wayfaring Trading Company thanks you for your cooperation in the invasion, and hopes we can enjoy a successful, and insurrection free occupation. Any counter-invasions, or insurrections will be met with the full force of the Wayfaring Trading Company's military might. In The Majestic's Service, Count Irrigo Mesabi of Debonshire, Veteran of the Juniper Wars, CEO of the Wayfarer Trading Corporation, the Fortifier of Nova Malto, Founder of the Grand City of Mesabi Landing, Sailor of the South, Purveyor of Artiodactyl and Equine Meats " *Some very cute, and entirely defenseless wildlife that will be cooked for supper. **1 Flagpole ***like, 10 guys on a ship ****OOC: Look, I know it's named for a real place, but I hate having to figure out how to type the " Î " all the time, and I think naming an island "soup island" is way funnier.

[OL-FB] Large Wooden Fort in Tarlor
Mesabi replied to CapOnBOBS's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Looking good @CapOnBOBS, and your work towards securing Terraversa is certainly going to make it hard for Oleon to be scraped off! (Personally, OOC I hope this conflict ends with a heavily guarded DMZ between King's Port and Westface, as you all have put so much work into all of this!) (IC the Count is on the warpath!!!) I've got to say, the sloped sides transition excellently into the fortress, and there's not a detail I would change. Bravo! (And congrats on making it to front page!) -
[COR-FB] The return of the Count pt.2
Mesabi replied to Mesabi's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thank you NOD! The plan is to build a royal residence in Mesabi Landing, through a series of small scenes. It'll take a while though! I'm looking forwards to building it! I've got one more build in the pipeline first....- 5 replies

José's Inn - Ye Olde BoBS Drinking Hole
Mesabi replied to Darnok's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Taking this from the KPA thread, so it doesn't get in the way of discussion about the battle.... I kind of want to know some of the answers to these questions, partly for Fatu Hiva. Are occupiers / invaders allowed to build fortifications in Settlements? i.e. can I build Forts in Fatu Hiva? I hope this doesn't take MUCH more time from the court, and I'm in no hurry to know. I've got a idea backlog a mile long.... -
Nice cut out, and good looking scene! I like the mundaneness of the scene. great job!

Location: Mesabi Landing Type: Royal Collab Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 It was a breezy day in Mesabi Landing, as the winds of change blew through the dusty settlement. Karl Mordo stood on the WTC VIP dock, waiting for the arrival for Count Mesabi. “Now, the Count has always been insane. Unfortunately, after his return from the south, he’s only grown more egomaniacal, and crazy. He’s also very lethal. Unfortunately, we can't strike first. We'll need to wait till he attacks.” Said Mordo in a concerned tone. He peered out into the water towards the approaching rowboat. “I knew the danger when I signed on, sir.” Said the WTC Elite Guard. “Good," replied Mordo, "I have already prepared the pension for your widow. It is possible he may decide to orphan your children as well, so there are funds allocated for a new orphanage.” Replied Mordo stoically. “Is it a coal mining orphanage, like the other one?” asked the guard. “It may be a coal mining orphanage, like the other one...” MEANWHILE The rowboat bobbed in the water as Count Mesabi and Darby were rowed towards the shore. “Alright Darby." Said the Count, "The man we’re set to meet is very dangerous. His work in the Telvoki campaign of the Juniper War earned him the name, ‘The Ripper.’ He’s going to try and have us killed. We'll wait for him to strike first” Darby: “Wait! We hired a guy with the nickname 'The Ripper?!?' Why?!?” Said Darby, realizing his life was once again in danger. Mesabi: “I remember his resume being near the top of the pile. Anyways, expect a sniper team, and perhaps cannons…” Said the Count with the same regard for the statement as his tea order earlier that morning. The Rowboat found it's way to the pier. The Count and Darby disembarked, and began to walk towards Mordo. “Hi there, Karl. Glad to finally meet you…” Said the Count, with more than a hint of paranoia. “And Hi to you, Count Mesabi. Glad of you to Grace the settlement….” Replied Mordo, with slightly more paranoia. “I hope we can discuss business” Continued the Count, accentuating more of his words. His eyes darted the horizon, looking for snipers. Karl: “Yes, business is to be Discussed. Shall we?” Finished Karl, not venturing out further onto the dock in case it exploded. The two continued into the settlement.... TO BE CONTINUED.... Continuing Mesabi's story of his journey towards Fatu Hiva. I hope this build looks polished enough, but @Darnok is going to find some brick I didn't push down. I had fun writing the story for this one, but it took a few drafts. I resisted the urge to have an action sequence, but I think it's better without one. C&C appreciated! pt. 3, coming soon...
