For the Glory of Corrington! An Enduring Free Build Challenge
Mesabi replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
An updated list of my entries. Task 5: Higher Education Quinnsville University Public Library for the higher education requirement. [Approved] Task 3: Merchant Marine WTC Rising Sun for the 'exotic' requirement. (I renamed it the Red Sun in the forms) [Approved] WTC Libertine was originally planned for this task, but it was not approved, and I will be using it elsewhere. [Withdrawn]- 191 replies

[COR FB] Tailor's shop, King's Harbour
Mesabi replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Excellent build @Bregir, and I am already planning on stealing more than a few of the techniques you used here. I really like how the faced is done on a corner, and the exterior with the tiles looks excellent. The fabric rolls, the sewing machine and the interior is fantastic as well. Great addition to King's Harbour! -

[COR Troop] Dragoon Camp, Mesabi Landing
Mesabi replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Looks tasty great @Ayrlego! I love the look of the troops, but the terrain and tents don't disappoint either. The Tree looks excellent as well, and I love the addition to the settlement. The story is great as well, and I love the worries of Major Bradley. Thanks for building in Mesabi Landing! -
[ESL - Troops] Mercenaries in Fuerte Unido
Mesabi replied to Elostirion's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
That's a nice looking build Elos, i quite like the olive and lime green terrain. You did a great job with the custom torsos, and they look basically like genuine lego torsos. The little watchtower looks great as well. Excellent job!- 6 replies

Nice build Corweena, I like the busyness of the scene, and how it's depicted. Your troops look excellent, and it's cool to see some more mercenaries on the Brick Seas. Only thing I'd poke at, is that Charlatan Bay is reported as having 'steep' cliffs all around. Not that it at all hampers the build, (and this could easily be the 30 feet of land before the cliffs) but it does add a bit extra when the Lore is factored in. Either way, excellent build, and I look forwards to seeing their adventures in Terraversa!

[SR - minor challenge] Gone with the wind
Mesabi replied to Professor Thaum's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Excellent little Schooner @Professor Thaum! I really love the ropework you did, and seeing paper sails turn out so well gives me hope for my ships! You really put the work in for this one, so nice prize, and congratulations to Ayrlego! -
[GoC] Purser's Network 1: The cartographer of King's Harbour
Mesabi replied to Puvel's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Looking great @Puvel and welcome back! I love the use of the dark green, it's such a nice colour. The woodworking, and the walls being set in a half stud really takes the build to the next level. I also like the game pieces for the columns in the fireplace. Great job! -
[COR-sistership] Watching the Corland Supplier 3
Mesabi replied to Brickwolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Excellent little vignette Brickwolf, it's simple but it's done quite well. The colour palette works great, and I like the use of the vine pieces. I firmly disagree, I think that clear 1x2 plates make a good 'spashy' water for coastal scenes. Keep it up @Brickwolf -
Absolutely excellent @Keymonus, and this is perhaps my favorite AMCRA that's currently running. The story is excellent, and every build has a unique character, and looks amazing. I love your portrayal of the Isle of Tam, it's exactly how I'd imagine it existing, and it's honestly perfect, both with story and builds. Additionally, I'm always glad when someone explores the oft-unnoticed corners of the Brick Seas. We get so many builds with Palm trees, I'm so glad to see a story with some ice! Keep it coming, and I can't wait to see how this one turns out! (side note, the Erebus and Terror Arctic expeditions are some of my favorite moments in history, so I might be a bit biased! )

Location: Westface, Terraversa Type: Terraversan Support Build "Form an Orderly Line, and please leave all non-essential belongings on the bridge." Shouted a Terraversan Soldier through a megaphone. People bustled and murmered on the small bridge, one of several on the Drake River. As Oleon had invaded the island, civillians had fled to the last safe bastion of Teraversa, Westface. "Name?" Asked the screener. "Harold Burton." Said the Refugee. "Occupation?" Continued the screener. "Cobbler." Replied the Refugee. "Can you fight?" Asked the screener, this time with a tinge more emotion. "No." said the old refugee, sadly. Further down the line, children cried, and a pig squealed, the only belonging a farmer had been able to take out of his home. Things deemed 'useless' by the Terraversan authorities were cast to the side of the bridge. Form an Orderly Line by North White, on Flickr While they were glad to be alive, there was little hope in the eyes of the refugees. Soon, Oleon would sweep west, and they'd be forced to submit, or flee Terraversa altogether. Under the muskets of the soldiers, stationed to prevent panic or worse, Oleander armies, the line moved slowly onwards. Truly, these were dark times for Terraversa. FIN C&C appreciated. This is a bit darker of a build, but I'm happy with how it turned out. I briefly considered a bridge battle scene, but I've been enjoying painting the different angles of the conflict. Lighting isn't as good as I hoped it would be, it was sunny enough to not have to use my usual set up, so I thought I'd try with sunlight instead. I'm not sure if it worked as well, so I might retake the photos. Thanks for viewing!

[COR Oct FB1] Post Master's House and Office, Mooreton Bay
Mesabi replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Excellent build, and I can see all the techniques you put into this one. I like the use of the rods to make the shutter windows, and the gazebo on the upper floor looks amazing. I like the tiling, and the ,little details, such as the gear being used as a decoration really bring the build all together. Great job! -
[COR-shiplevels] Seawolf Shipping is hiring!
Mesabi replied to Brickwolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice build @Brickwolf, and thanks for contributing to the settlement! I like the use of the WTC elements, I'm always a little tickled when the WTC shows up in other people's stories. The border really helps keep the build neat, and all in all it's a solid build. -
[COR - FB3] - A First Meeting with the Onondaga
Mesabi replied to evancelt's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
looking good @evancelt! I love the technique in that Log Cabin, it really shows a lot of effort, and the sideways bricks really make it pop. The roof looks great as well, and I don't think I've seen the technique in a while. Only critiques, are that all the pictures are from the same angle, and the cabin is missing a door. Otherwise, great build, and the story is quite well done.- 7 replies

Excellent build, and I love the use of multiple angles, and perspectives in the scene. The attention to detail is great, and the technique for the waterfall is superb. It's cause OL is naughty and invaded Terraversa!
