Location: Mesabi Landing Type: Medium Educational Mesabi Landing was booming, and Mordo had much to do. Today he walked to a new Business, the Karst Geographers. Karst geographical by North White, on Flickr He entered the building to find one of the Geographers sitting at a desk, penning a letter. Karst geographical by North White, on Flickr "Mr. Mordo! We have the work you've commissioned! Come see!" Said the Geographer "Excellent, Agnes will be most pleased we can gaze upon our fine city." Said Mordo. Karst geographical by North White, on Flickr They all walked over to a table where maps lay spread out. The Second Geographer pulled out a map and showed to Mordo. Mesabi Landing Map by North White, on Flickr "I must say gentlemen, I'm Impressed!" FIN Karst Geographical is now accepting commissions! Any mayor or civil servant can request a map of their settlement for the price of 100 Dbs! Corlanders served without charge! Simply PM Me @Mesabi Thanks for viewing my newest build. I really tried to do something different with the roof this time, and also tried to detail the outside. environment. I'm not sure if this can be counted as an educational, I felt maps were knowledgey, but if leadership disagrees, let me know. I won't license this for a few days. I didn't put much story, as this is mostly to display my new map of Mesabi Landing, but I will get back into regular silliness soon. C&C appreciated!

New Ship I've been working on WIP ship by North White, on Flickr WIP ship by North White, on Flickr WIP ship by North White, on Flickr Thoughts? I don't think I can make the middle curve with the parts I have, so that's out. But any other general comments? -
Great Vessel @Capt Wolf! It looks very much like an official Lego vessel. Are those sails Custom? Because they turned out very nice. Also, Interior?
-
Excellent Vessel @Bodi, The realism you've given her really shows. I'd like to see inside that Captain's Cabin too though. Does it have an interior?
-
Excellent build @Legostone! I love the stern and bow detailing. The Use of Heroica figures is especially nice, as is the lantern. I'd really like to have seen a story and/or a crew with this one though.

Location: King's Harbour Type: Small Cultural (Government office) Governor Cooke sat in his office reading his mail. There was a knock on his door, and a soldier entered. The request by North White, on Flickr "There's a Lady Mesabi here to see you sir." the soldier said. "Curious, send her in." He replied. Countess Mesabi entered holding an envelope. The request by North White, on Flickr "Good afternoon, Governor Cooke. As acting Chair of the Wayfarer Trading Corporation, I'd like to formally present to you our request." She said cautiously, and handed him the envelope. "Very well, Madam." he said, equally cautious. The request by North White, on Flickr He opened the Envelope, and began to read. The request by North White, on Flickr "So, Governor Cooke, What say you?" She asked. FIN Just a small build requesting the licensing status for the WTC. Sorry @Bregir, I had like none of the parts you showed me for Cooke. King's Harbour is free to license this, I'll be concentrating my efforts in Mesabi Landing this month. C&C appreciated, and I look forward to hearing from you @Bregir as to the WTC's Status!

Location: Breshaun Type: Small Commercial "Wow! Breshaun sure is great! It's the largest city on the brick seas! And it sure is nice!" Said Captain Kelly, of the WTC Teamwork. "Yeah, and everybody here is so nice. How do they afford all this?" Said Jane, his right hand woman. Highway robbery by North White, on Flickr "Excuse me sir, is this the place where we register our profits for the KPA?" Kelly asked the guard. Highway robbery by North White, on Flickr "Hehehe. Yep! Go on in." He said with an evil laugh. The two went into the office. An Oleonese Noblewoman sat at the desk. Highway robbery by North White, on Flickr "Well well well, thank you for docking in Breshaun. Are you ready to pay the tax?" She said with an evil grin. "Wait, isn't there supposed to be a free market?" Asked Kelly. "No! Of course not! We need to fund our public endowment to the arts by stealing- I mean taxing ship's profits! Here, read this." She said. Highway robbery by North White, on Flickr "Wait what? You're holding us hostage?!?!" Asked Kelly incredulously. "No... Now give us the money! MWAHAHAHA!" Highway robbery by North White, on Flickr "At least that's how I remember it," Kelly wrote in his diary. FIN Thanks for viewing my build! Just a little poke at Oleon for having such high taxes. I'm sure they appreciate the building in their settlement as well. I'll make sure to pay by the end of the month. Is it Oleon or Breshaun I'm paying? C&C appreciated!

Location: Mesabi Landing Type: Medium Commercial "I can't believe he's late again." Said Pete Zanzibar It's 12:00, and he's still not here. "You haven't gotten to know him." Said Sally. WTC sales division by North White, on Flickr Joseph Zumbro strolled leisurely down the path to the Sales Division Building No. 3. WTC sales division by North White, on Flickr He opened the door and walked in. WTC sales division by North White, on Flickr "You're late again Mr. Zumbro!" Said Karren, the secretary, her face a mess of makeup, as usual. "Well, I had to get over this hangover!" He said with a smirk. "Also it's not like we're doing anything important today!" "Mr. Zumbro, we have a mission briefing!" She said in a concerned voice. "Exactly, nothing important!" He left her desk and walked over to Pete. WTC sales division by North White, on Flickr "Mr. Zumbro, I can't believe you're late again. Do you know how unprof-" Mr. Zumbro cut Pete off. WTC sales division by North White, on Flickr "You know who my aunt is. Besides, do you really care enough to do something about it? I mean it's not like you can control me. We learned that lesson." Said Mr. Zumbro chidely. Zumbro walked over to the next desk "Ugh, you're late again," Said Bradley Stevens, the team accountant. "Just because the Countess is your aunt..." WTC sales division by North White, on Flickr Zumbro picked up Bradley's Coffee and drank it. "Ugh, why isn't this a Sea Rat Coffee? Every Coffee needs liquor!" "Hey! And not only is that racist to Sea Rats- Bradley was cut off "Who are jerks." Said Zumbro "I..." "Have no good response because you're not as awesome as me?" Sally Whistled loudly. "Everyone! We have a briefing to do!" WTC sales division by North White, on Flickr The group gathered around the table. Pete Spoke up. "So, Trador. A Large Eslandolan town just a zone outside our own. Dominated by MAESTRO." "Wait, what does MAESTRO stand for again? Misfits Acquiring Esoteric Stuff, Trading, at Random Outposts?" Asked Zumbro "No, it's Mypa-Stedor... Something Something.. I don't know." Said Pete. "So what about them?" Asked Sally "Well, there are goods they sell that we don't. And goods we sell that they don't." Added Pete "Like anything involving horses?" Asked Zumbro, "Cause we killed a looooot of Horses last month." "Basically. Anyways, we need to establish an office there. And the last time we were there...." WTC sales division by North White, on Flickr "Yeah Yeah. We were pretty drunk after that soccer match. We got some neat stuff out of that warehouse though." Said Sally. "Yeah... And also probably ruined relations with them. So, do what you can." Said Pete angrily. "To destroy their water supply and orchards?" Asked Zumbro "No! To set up a company house, and to start doing business with them. You idiot." Said Pete. "So get a ship and get on it!" "Are you sure?..." "Yes!" FIN Thanks for viewing the character introduction for Joseph Zumbro. I'm trying to work on adding more characters so I'm not limited to just Agnes and the Count. C&C appreciated everyone.

@Bregir Hey, what am I exactly supposed to build here? I want to build something, but what it looks like is you're asking me to photograph my 2 ships doing a thing. I mean, if that's what you want, I will do it, but it won't require any building.

Turn 1: Location: Mesabi Landing Type: Medium Artisan/Ship "So," Said Captain Angles, "Peterson's Discount Boat and Scavenge seems to be our only choice." "Yeah dude, even Tony isn't cool enough to get the Judgement for this mission." Said Tony. "Speaking of, can you stop speaking in third person?" Procuring a ship by North White, on Flickr "Nah dude. Tony does what tony wants." Tony said, flashing a grin. The two arrived at Peterson's Discount Boat and Scavenge. The building was a two story building built in the style of Mesabi Landings other buildings. "I'll go talk to the owner. You stay here and, I don't know, guard something." Said Captain Angles "The Tony cannot be contained!" Tony said, but stood outside, and began flipping a coin while chewing on a toothpick. He was so cool. Procuring a ship by North White, on Flickr Captain Angles walked inside. At a small desk Parker Peterson sat, drinking a bottle of rum. "Well if it isn't Captain Louie Angles. I think you should leave." Said Parker Peterson "What? Why? Said Captain Angles. Procuring a ship by North White, on Flickr "Because I'm hungover, and you let the light in. Now go, before I have to get violence on you!" He said anrigly Captain Angles turned to leave, as Tony opened the door, and walked in. Procuring a ship by North White, on Flickr "Heeeeeeeeere's Tony!" Tony said happily. He was awesome. "Woah #@%&! It's Tony! Hey Tony, what brings you to Peterson's Discount Boat and Scavenge?" Said Parker Peterson suddenly happy. Procuring a ship by North White, on Flickr "We need a boat!" Said Tony "I have boats!" Said Parker, trying to suck up as much as possible. "I bet I know where those pirates you're supposed to be hunting are too." A little bit Later. Procuring a ship by North White, on Flickr "...and that's where the pirates might be hiding." Said Henry Peterson, Parker's older and more reserved brother. "Wow, that's really comprehensive and clear. I hope we remember that, because that will save us a ton of time if what you said is correct." Said Captain Angles. "I wasn't listening because I know we'll beat those pirates no matter what. Go Team!" Said Tony. Tony was always upbeat about the situation. "Well, let's take a look at the ship Countess Mesabi is buying for you guys. Are you sure she's okay with paying for it?" Asked Henry "Yeah.... Totally." Said Captain Angles. "Well, I present to you the WTC Checkered Past. She's a class 2, 2 mast with an emphasis on speed. Originally she was 4 different vessels!" Procuring a ship by North White, on Flickr "Wait, how is that even possible to make 1 ship out of 4?" Asked Captain Angles, "And is that even safe?" "Industry secrets, and probably." Said Henry. I'll remind you of the terms of service." Any and All ships created by Peterson's Discount Boat and Scavenge are QUALTY vessels. Therefore, we are not responsible for any deaths that may occur from misuse of the vessel. "Wait, you misspelled 'Quality'" Said Captain Angles. "Don't worry, ships don't sink while Tony is aboard. Because Tony." Siad Tony, flashing a grin. "Let's go get my troops, and we'll get going. Shall we Angles?" "It's Captain Angles. And Yes, we'll do what I was about to say as LEADER of this expedition." The two got aboard, and made preparations to sail. Procuring a ship by North White, on Flickr FIN Thanks for viewing this AMCRA! I'm really having fun with this one so far. I'll be licensing this as a medium artisan in Mesabi Landing. I doubt there were any real ships made from the remains of 4 ships in real life, but I had three different coloured hulls, so i wanted to address that. I also tried to improve the ship by raising the stern a block, so hopefully it meets @Bregir's approval, though that might be a stretch. I also need to add custom sails, but Since it was docked in these scenes, I thought I'd wait. The building was part of my goal to make more two storey buildings, so I hope it looks alright. C&C appreciated. More pictures.

Restoring Order, Mesabi Landing [Part Two]
Mesabi replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Excellent Builds, and an excellent story @Ayrlego! Each of the builds really helps to further the story while looking clean and profesional. Thanks for doing this excellent CoLab, with @Drunknok! Mesabi Landing is named for the act of Mesabi Landing on Argentia. It's not his Landing. -
Excellent build @Drunknok, The build is an excellent fortification. The detailing is fantastic, and really shows the work you put into it. Altogether, I like how it has the features of a real lego set, combined with the quality of an upper class MOC. Keep up the great work!
-
Very nice ship @Drunknok. The ship turned out excellent, especially the masts and sails. I like the figurehead as well, it's very expressive. The only criticism I will add is it could use some crew, and a story. But hopefully we'll see that down the line.

Hey, am I allowed to gather intelligence and buy a ship this turn? I have the ship built, and I'm working on the dock, but I would like to gather intelligence.

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Mesabi replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Really? I was hoping with the skill tree we could increase it. Any word on the skill tree in general? -
Very nice analysis @SpaceJoey86! I should have done one, but I've had some trouble calculating the upkeep of vessels. Very interesting data!

Arlinsport AdvisorThe Economic Guide to the SeasIssue 1, Vol 2 Wealth on the Brick Seas Wealth on the Brick Seas has long been measured by the standardized unit of Doubloons. (replacing the antiquated term of piece of eight) But how is wealth distributed on the Brick Seas. Read along to find out! Notes: This analysis does not factor in everything. It does not include players who make extra income as mayors, and does not include any MCRA funds being added. Only assured funds are added to the counts in this analysis. Sea Rats The Sea Rats have long been known for their squalor and abject poverty. They have little and often resort to piracy and breaking agreements to make ends meet. Just last month, after agreeing to return a ship in return for some property creation, Captain Silas Pike ordered the ship scrapped to fill his own coffers. Fortunately, these wretches are poor, as empires are far better than a bunch of loners building small settlements. The Sea Rats Currently make the following: Sea Rats Summary Account Holdings Income Sea Rats 5,503 36 Settlements 2,613 292 Players 20308 770 Corporations 323 20 As one can see, most income generated by the Sea Rats comes from it's players. However, this has left their leadership poor and feeble. Making them easy pickings if there ever was a war... But the Arlinsport Adviser would not be a quality magazine if it did not include graphics! Sea Rat Pie by North White, on Flickr Oleon Oleon's selfish nature may soon be their downfall, as they have concentrated much of their earnings in their central government. Almost half of Oleon's total income is generated by Oleon itself, not factoring out taxes or fees, something that was not counted in this review. Their holdings are far better distributed, but with their taxes, their players may soon begin to suffer. Perhaps their faith will lead to their downfall... Oleon Summary Account Holdings Income Oleon 23,375 2016 Settlements 4584 456 Players 47536 1620 Corporations 810 133 Little to none of Oleon's holdings are in their corporations, and citizen's income makes up only 80% of what the crown makes. But here's a friendly graphic! Oleon Pie by North White, on Flickr Corrington Long known as the greatest most orderly most scientific nation of the world. Corrington's efforts to help the Mardian people alone should be something to stand back in awe for. However, Corrington herself has not kept up the process of keeping one's coffers full. Despite being great, projects have lagged behind, including the Cocovia wagonway, which still needs to be completed. However, here is an overview of Corrington Corrington Summary Account Holdings Income Corrington 14059 660 Settlements 5110 810 Players 49858 2003 Corporations 16,923 1193 As can be seen, most of Corrington's wealth is generated by her citizens. But these numbers, while impressive, will seem inadequate compared to Eslandola. Corrington Pie by North White, on Flickr Eslandola Eslandolans are well known for their ability to rub two coins together and produce a third. They are money grubbing folks who make a ton of money and manage to hang onto a ton of money even though they were at war with the Mardians. Anyways, they have money. Eslandola Summary Account Holdings Income Eslandola 23,829 1446 Settlements 5660 791 Players 94986 3618 Corporations 15,216 2256 Most of the Esladolans earnings and income comes from their citizens. They also have a very healthy private sector, and public sector. Anyways, their filthy rich. Eslandola Pie by North White, on Flickr Overview But the Eslandolans true power can be seen when all of the nations are compared at once. Nation Total Income Corrington 85950 4,761 Eslandola 139,691 8146 Oleon 76,287 4225 Sea Rats 28,747 1128 Making almost twice what Corrington and Oleon produce, the Eslandolans are poised to take the Brick Seas with their money. BoBS Bars by North White, on Flickr (Blue is holdings and red is income) So, things will get interesting on the Brick Seas, as the gap between the nations continues to grow. Giving us a lot of things to fear... Advertisements Are you Hungry for Horses? Horse meat is the new in on the Brick Seas. So we'd like to ask you, are you hungry for Horses? WTC: Your solution to Chaos! The Wayfarer Trading Company is proud to announce the opening of at least 5 factories over the past month. Can your Trade Corporation say that? OOC: Thanks for viewing this analysis. Yes, I know the MCRA is a major source of income. No, I'm not going to argue about it, as it's unpredictable, and hard to measure. C&C welcomed

Fantastic build man! Very nice exterior, and interior, and it's a great addition to the settlement. I agree with @Drunknok that you should use tan baseplates to match the aesthetic of the island, but that's a minor critique. Keep up the good work!

Nice build @Ayrlego, I like the purple Aesthetic. The build turned out well, and really showcases your abilities, even in LDD. No interior though....
