  1. @Bob De Quatre, I'm sorry to hear you're unable to continue, however I completely agree with @mccoyed. If life has gotten in the way, we understand. Ska For Hire relinquished command of BoBS to the Brethren court, and BoBS has run fine since he has taken an absence. I would be willing to help out, and several other people have offered in this thread. Shall we consider setting up a pm?
  2. Terelli Tell-All Est. 400 Welcome to the Terelli Tell All, your 'New' Source for adventures on the Brick Seas, since the unfortunate refusal of the Eltina Courier's editors to raise our salaries! RNTC Stalls! In Terraversa, the RNTC continues to refuse to choose a side in the struggle for Terraversa's government. Instead, they apparently are searching for some ancient Relic, and other frivolous activities. Perhaps Eslandola will soon gain the upper hand on Terraversa. Eslandola lands in Terraversa! Eslandola has landed diplomats in Terraversa, along with several large big cats. What are their intentions with the Island? We'll soon find out! Pirate Hunt Concludes! The WTC was victorious over the Red Rascal Pirates, and destroying their massive pirate fortress. One can expect safer travels in zone 35 as a result, and a boost in harbour traffic as a result. Our Sources say most of the work was done by someone named Tony. Chaos in Kemblar? Sources from the Brick Seas say there was an attack on the palace of Kemblar, but details are forthcoming. Could Count Mesabi be involved? Storms in the North! A large tropical storm hit Serentia, heading east, causing worry for families of whalers, and adventurers in the North Seas. We can only guess what happened to the WTC adventure in the region. Red Oktober in Altonia: The mysterious 'Red Oktober' now lies safely in the hands of Altonian officials. While we still don't know exactly the Red Oktober is, or what it does, we can assume that Altonia will keep it safe from the prying hands of the mad Professor Thaum. Mokolei Expedition Goes Underground! The Mokolei Expedition has been reported as discovering a massive ancient underground city in the deserts of Mokolei. What treasures lie within will certainly be revealed after some excavation. Stay posted readers! Progress in the New Haven Sea! Reports back from the New Haven Sea reveal that the first Island is home to a tribe of blind natives who speak in clicks! Now the Eslandolan fleet sails for other islands, in an attempt to map out the newest of the Brick Seas. But what will they find? Rodsh Derr: Wanted in Nova Terreli! Rodsh Derr is wanted by his former navy officers for questioning, and a good beating in Nova Terreli. If he is sighted, please report to your nearest Navy official. Editorials: Taxes are too darn High! It seems like everyone is raising taxes on the Brick Seas now, and it's getting annoying having to pay for all that! Only Corrington seems to be refusing to raise taxes, keeping the Brick Seas somewhat tax free. University of Tiberia constructions stall! The University of Tiberia's new constructions continue to stall out, and little seems to be being done to finish them. The December deadline for the improvements continues to look further and further away. Prio! Bullied no Longer! Prio and the Sea Rats conflict seems to have reached it's climax, as talks begin. But one thing is clear, Prio will be bullied no longer by the vicious Sea Rats. Ads: WTCM: publishing the truth! The WTCM continues to be the most reliable, and prolific new source on the Brick Seas. Their constant exposΓ©s on Governor Cooke and King's Harbour have helped bring the truth to the Brick Seas. We are in their debt! Countess Mesabi Seeks Information! 3. Looking forwards to it no matter what! Any chance you could give us some hype? (Can we capture settlements? Will Troop Costs Change? BoBS Land Cards?)
  4. Thanks for the write up @LM71Blackbird! @Bregir/ @Legostone, is the micro license transferable?
  5. Location: Mesabi Landing Type: Class 8 Ship Destroying Angel by North White, on Flickr Having been launched, the WTC's largest ship, the Destroying Angel now floated majestically in the harbour of Mesabi Landing. Destroying Angel by North White, on Flickr Agnes and the Ship's Designer walked along the deck, discussing the mighty vessel. Destroying Angel by North White, on Flickr "How is a vessel with 6 cannons worthy of the name "Destroying Angel?!?" Asked Agnes angrily. "Maybe you should have waited before naming it!" Yelled the designer. "This ship was built as a speedy, long range, maneuverable, gunboat. Not a Hard Hitting Warship." "Easy now-" Agnes was interrupted. "DON'T QUESTION MY DESIGNS EVER AGAIN!" Yelled the Designer. The tour continued in silence until they reached the conference room. Destroying Angel by North White, on Flickr "As you requested, a fully stocked bar, and a conferance room for directing WTC operations." "Excellent." replied Agnes. Destroying Angel by North White, on Flickr The Majestic Ship would soon see action against the Pirates of the Brick Seas... ...except for Sinbad thanks to the reckless actions of Ansa Mesabi... FIN So, finally finished the destroying angel, which I had working on since around November. I recently finished it up and spent the day doing rigging in sails, and I will say the following. Sails are $#@%$#@%$%$#@%#@%$#@%@#%#@%@#%@#^&*&*^(^%#@$$#@^&&(&^%#$$@#$ing difficult to do. And mine look absolutely terrible. They also took me like 6 hours to do, as well as a major chunk of my sanity. So I am not going to fix them anytime soon. Otherwise, I'm mostly happy with the rigging, and the ship as a whole. I tried to follow @Bregir's suggestions for the ship, and worked hard to give her a nice tumblehouse. I also added my own little interior for when I need a conference scene when I'm fighting pirates. C&C appreciated, though the sails are awful. I understand.
  6. No please! Can't you settle your conflict with an expensive and highly destructive war?
  7. Hmmm.... I was afraid of this, as Mesabi Landing grew so fast because we actually liked to focus on settlement goals.... Meanwhile the massive Breshaun has an absurd trade value as it took so long to "level up" I don't suppose this rule will change anytime soon?
  8. Excellent lighting, and I can't wait to see where this goes!
  9. Great build Blackbird, and great to see the RNSD builds continuing. I must say though, I wish that 16x8 tiles came in transclear blue in real bricks
  10. Great Series of Builds Gedren, and great story telling.
  11. Excellent build Roadmonkey, I like the Snake Motif! Great job showing all the steps of brewing, the build is very realistic, and well done. Keep up the great work!
  12. So, I had a question about settlement trade values. Settlement Size Level Number of Properties Maximum Number of Fortresses Mayor's Pay Raid Worth in % of Town Bank Trade Value Modifier Militia Size by Crew Attribute Natural Settlement Growth Rate Hamlet 1 <11 1 5DB 20% 90% 0 0 Town 2 11 - 30 2 10DB 30% 80% 0 0 Large Town 4 31 - 60 3 20DB 40% 70% 1 3% City 8 61 - 100 4 35DB 50% 60% 2 4% Large City 16 101 - 175 5 45DB 55% 50% 4 5% Grand City 32 176 - 300 6 60DB 60% 40% 8 6% Capital City 64 >300 7 70DB 70% 30% 16 7% If you look at Trade value modifier, I was wondering exactly what that meant. Does it mean when a ship docks, they get X% of the Settlement's worth? Does it mean that each build added when the settlement is that size adds X% of what it would be worth to the Trade value? Or something Else entirely? Thanks!
  13. I back up @Drunknok with the random roles for Mesabi Landing. I love the idea, and I hope it brings more people to Mesabi Landing. And, if anyone wants to avoid the Chaos, you're free to dock in any of the other 3 Corrish Ports in zone 35 .
  14. Another question about troops: Is 1 Cargo Point still 10 men? Because to move an army then takes 243 cargo points, which would require at least 16 vessels with maxed cargo stats. Thank you!
  15. As in, would it be a poor investment to buy troops now?
  16. So, for the Land Combat rules, will the cost of troops be changed at all? Right now, it's a little prohibitive to get anything other than a Regiment. Platoon: 30DB | 10 Men | Upkeep 6DB / Month Company: 80DB | 30 Men | Upkeep 18DB / Month Battalion: 220DB | 90 Men | Upkeep 54DB / Month Regiment 600DB | 270 Men | Upkeep 162DB / Month Division: 1700DB | 810 Men | Upkeep 486DB / Month Army 4500DB | 2430 Men | Upkeep 1458DB / Month
  17. @Capt Wolf Calvo returned to his flagship, and the men prepared to set sail. The natives had shown him the island and he had learned much. (Island information and rumours Sent via PM) They had also shown him an old lifeboat with the remains of a famous pirate known only as 'Itasca.' The natives, had left the boat intact, as it was from the strange outer world, but offered it to Calvo. According to his logs, Itasca had terrorized the Merlonic sea 200 years ago, amassing a massive fortune, before he was blown far off course into the new world. He eventually found himself in the remote New Haven Sea and slowly went insane, eventually killing and canabalizing his entire crew. By himself. Before hand, however, he reported having buried his treasure on an island in the New Haven Sea. The crudely drawn map resembled Isle 6. (You may hunt this treasure later) The ships sailed to Isle 2, where they found the rest of their ships waiting. Having Rendeveued, they prepared to survey the Island, when a lookout yelled from the crow's nest. A Class 3 Carnivorian ship appeared to have struck a reef, and was listing heavily to the side. Options: Save the Crew: 1 build required showing Calvo's men rescuing the passengers and crew from the ship. Build should indicated who was aboard the ship, and why they are in the New Haven sea. Let the Gods take care of them: 1 build required showing Calvo landing on the island. You may be able to loot the remains of the Carnivorian ship next turn. You may also gain information about the Island. Save the Entire Ship: 2 Builds required showing Calvo's men rescuing the ship, and towing it to shore. The Carnivorians will be very grateful, though the ship will need to be repaired before it can sail again.
  18. Slightly dejected, the Andromeda turned, and began the long journey home. But first, they had to make some stops. First, in Terraversa Wapasha had to be taken home. He treated the crew to a feast, and when it was over, he presented Captain Barney Wolf with a pile of documents. BoBS card added: Atwi Exception [Serial Number To Be Added] A pile of papers and documents guaranteeing this ship safe harbour in Terraversa for free, no matter the leadership or taxes in Terraversa. (You may always dock in Westface or King's port. No Terraversan Taxes are ever owed.) (Applied to the Andromeda, cannot be removed) The voyage across the Terraversa sea was pleasant and uneventful. They stopped in Pontelli once more to restock. At the dock, the scientist they had helped earlier on their adventure came out to thank them, and offered them a stake in his company. (Free medium property license granted in Pontelli, activated by microbuild) Finally, they arrived in Tortuga. They unloaded their cargo, and their loot. They had made it home, and were far richer than before. (476 Dbs added to @Professor Thaum's account. The Andromeda is now in Tortuga. You are free to begin another AMCRA)
  19. @Drunknok The crew of the cranky parrot continued to sail east. Days became weeks, and weeks became months. But after 2 months of clear weather, their fortunes changed. A great squall appeared from the west, and hit them fast. The waves tossed them, and heavily damaged both ships, as their crews were spread to thin to man both ships. The storm lasted for a week, and the pounding rain swept the decks, washing their maps and navigational tools overboard. When the storm ended, they found themselves adrift once more, and very low on supplies. Their heading was completely a mystery to them. By some blessing, a tropical island appeared on the horizon. With no other options, the expedition took to the rowboats, and set out for the island. Landing, they found debris from the storm. Half of a ship lay upended on the beach. Various barrels and bottles littered the sand. A small dock section seemed to have been ripped from somewhere, and had ended there. A whale skeleton sat higher up on the beach. An abandoned house washed from some far away port was partially buried in a dune. Sea lions sat sunning on the sand as well. Regrouping, the expedition was faced with options for how to proceed. Repair the Ships!: Show your expedition harvesting wood, and repairing the ships. (You will need to do this before you can set sail again.) (1 build required) Explore the Beach!: Show your expedition exploring the debris on the beach, and showing their finds. (Will become unavailable after this turn, as the debris will be washed out to sea. 1 build required) Find our Heading!: The expedition is Nowhere near the North of Serentia, and is completely lost. (This may reveal where the expedition has landed, or at least clues to it's location. 1 build required.) Into the Jungle!: Show your expedition entering the interior of the island. (1 build required) You may pick 2 of the options this turn. 1 required to progress.
  20. Nice little series of ships Drunknok, and great adaptation of the prefabs. Great creativity, and I can't wait to see them in action.
  21. Aw come on guys, don't let prio off the hook! This is worth fighting a war over!
  22. To all Sea Rats: If you guys are really worried about your power on the Brick Seas, you should really consider going on AMCRA's as they can really increase your power, wealth, and influence on the Brick Seas. If you can tell a good story, or do some great builds with them, you can easily earn powerful BoBS cards, tons of wealth, or influence NPC relations. @MKJoshA, and @Professor Thaum both completed AMCRA's and both were rewarded. (technically, Thaum will be soon ) As someone on the AMCRA committee, I can tell you that AMCRA's are probably the best way to increase your power in the game at the moment. While the Land Combat rules aren't out yet, you could take that 8,000 Dbs and do a Sea Rat AMCRA invading Prio, or go to Mardier and look to help them retake the island, or try to make other allies on the Brick Seas. The only real limit is your imagination here. Really, I think AMCRA's are a little overlooked, as they are slow, but considering the rewards we give, I think more people should go on them. (The rest of the AMCRA committee may disagree as it give us more work to do. ) So get to it! You've got some time before the next MCRA turn comes up.
  23. Location: Fatu Hiva Type: Small Artisan The Three walked across the beach to the local native workshop. Challenge 6 Category A by North White, on Flickr "Bah," Said the Man with a moustache, "Are we really so desperate to do this?" Challenge 6 Category A by North White, on Flickr "You know this course of action is the best we can do on such short notice." Said the Nameren General Challenge 6 Category A by North White, on Flickr "Oy! You in the Blue!" Said the Moustached man. "What do you know about the Jungle on this Island?" Challenge 6 Category A by North White, on Flickr "Only that it ain't someplace I'm going. He said in a heavy Accent. Maybe ask the natives here?" Challenge 6 Category A by North White, on Flickr Without a word, they entered. Inside were two natives sowing pants. Challenge 6 Category A by North White, on Flickr The native sighed. "If you're here about the evil in the jungle. I implore you to avoid it. You don't want to lose your soul do you?" Challenge 6 Category A by North White, on Flickr "What's that supposed to mean? Asked the Moustached Man. "You go into that jungle, you will lose your soul, and wander an empty shell. Now begone." Said the native, turning back to the pile of fabric. The Moustached Man put his hand on his sword. The Nameren General opened the door, and beckoned him to leave. Challenge 6 Category A by North White, on Flickr Wordlessly, the three began to walk into the Jungle. Challenge 6 Category A by North White, on Flickr They each recalled their last asignment. The smell of the burning abbey, and the screams of the Priests of Hades as they had been slaughtered by the trio's hands. To Be Continued.
