2018 is becoming a good year to lego train fans, we wanted more of course, but give us material to moc at least, hehehe... Sources like brickfinder talk about 801 pieces at USD$79.99 All aboard the LEGO® Harry Potter 75955 Hogwarts Express! Vanish through the brick wall on Platform 9 3⁄4 at King’s Cross station and join Harry, Ron and Hermione on their journey to Hogwarts. Find your seats in the carriage and get a chocolate frog from the Trolley Witch, but watch out for the Dementor! Luckily, Remus Lupin is at hand to cast a powerful spell and shield Harry from the terrifying creature, so you can get back on track for more magical Harry Potter adventures. Includes 5 minifigures: Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Remus Lupin and the Trolley Witch, plus Dementor and Scabbers figures. Features the iconic King’s Cross Platform 93⁄4 and Hogwarts Express train. Platform features a railway bridge with a clock, steps that lead to a moving brick wall entrance, newspaper stand with 2 Daily Prophet newspapers, and a ‘Wanted’ poster. Hogwarts Express train includes a carriage with 4 seats, removable side panel and roof, plus the Trolley Witch with sweets trolley. What do you think?!

how the hell is this on ebay, I'm still waiting for better pictures of the new city trains and this comes up... You can check it at: https://www.ebay.com/itm/273209312221?rmvSB=true source: http://minifigpriceguide.com/wordpress/lego-30543-seasonal-train-2018-new-set/

Aah, trains rolling, always beautiful, nice space usage, and btw that steam train is a beauty :)

Well, let me share a little update... Couldn't leave this matter, so I entered in contact with LEGO about the poor minifig print alignment, and awesome as the customer service is, got to be honest, they are brilliant, they sent immediately a couple of "legs" after seeing the pictures I sent (posted above). And the result is... The first picture, (with the lego bag) has the ones I bought, and in the second photo you can see them with the new "pants"... What can I say, nothing... just laugh... nevertheless two of "legs" will be acceptable with the torso.

Hmm, I'm a little happy to see that the front piece of the passenger train is not an exact copy of the last 60051, and as said before, in my opinion its better to have 1 loco and two carriages than the previous passenger train configuration. Allows more construction. Sad note to see that the new carriages are copys of the previous, nothing a couple of changes cant fix :D Then there is the will to support the theme and buy them in the first wave, but damn, the sets don't appear to be so appealing to me... probably will wait for the discount, or not...

Yes, as you said its a matter of batch quality control. You're a lucky one with those prints, its a fairly cheap set, but for LEGO quality has to be better than this, check mine:

Nice review. I love the battlepacks, also collecting minifigs, bought one of this and I'm mad, they look awesome, but the print alignment between the upper and lower torso in the one I got, god damn!... Sadly another friend of mine had the exact same problem...

Great work with the wagons, that part (2032) is brilliantly used.

Lego Train MOC's. Saddle Tank, Tram, Shunters and more
rahziel replied to LegoDad01's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Well done, lovely mocs, specially the steam train, keep showing us more ;) -
Nice initiative, well done! This one is an icon, so many great details, and some of them hard to come by, I think this one came before the horizon express, it was not easy to get the orange bricks no? :) The creator of this beautiful locomotive with some years in the bricks already, has in my opinion the best work by far of Portuguese railroad history, and one of the best worldwide "train master builders" with the attention to detail. Constructions like these inspire others like me, to try and do a version they like. So, kudos to you Sérgio Baptista, "és grande, caral..."! Um abraço, Rafael Costa

Two Swiss Alpine inspired trains designed with Pick a Brick
rahziel replied to James Mathis's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Two cool trains, well done, and thanks for sharing the files! -
What an amazing work, great design! Just loved the pantograph mechanism, the doors, the interiors of the carriages and the simple method to access the inside of it and the space it gives. You gotta put this on IDEAS as said before. Well done!
-
Excellent work, as always, those front windows got to be a pain to build, but gave the cabin the real look, well done!
-
Very nice locomotive, massive orange steamer ! The detail in the steam apparatus is great, you got to do something about that roof cabine connection to the windows, and what the hell of piece is that wheel rod or what its called? Anyway, loved it, keep them coming!
-
Congratulations, well deserved, and it was funny that the winner when asked for a review his first statement was "I'm speechless"... :D
-
Exactly, even forgetting the "harry potter brand" we're talking about a beautiful steam locomotive :) With a loco, tender, and a carriage without tracks or pf, would gladly spend 100/120€ at least two times ! :D
-
Indeed, I've got little, really little hope for it, but a revisited and well done hogwarts express would be amazing!!
-
What a beautiful and "clean" work, very well "moc'ed" the only thing that I'm not a fan, are those 1x2 slopes on top of the boiler, and btw thanks for the file share, kudos to you!

rahziel replied to Vincent Q's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
This is really an awesome creation, I gotta be honest at first, the roof and upper windows it seemed to me an Asian Simpsons house, hehe, the scenery is beautiful, I love all the detail, that lake, and your roof technic, your fingers were through some pain no?! :D Congrats you made a piece of art!- 54 replies
