Impressive army and fine posing! I'm not really familiar with medieval battle strategies, but if you haven't already, I would advise you to do some research and try to replicate that. I think it looks good enough as it is now. For the terrain, I would use a bit more green tiles. In case the battle has been going on for some time: more brown and some clumps of grass to show scars of war on the landscape.

I like the gate and the windmill. The overall shaping of the natural features of the bay, like the shoreline and rocks is good, too. I agree, the trees do not really work out and I feel like there should be a path beween the buildings.

Nice vignettes and a good story to go with it. The first has clean architectural details, I like the wooden floor and the differences in depth of the build. The second one is so minimalist from architectural point of view, but really nothing more is needed to set the scene, really cool! Greenshade, Nar Bilu and the 'world gate creature' are all great figures, too. Nice desert scene (not sure if mushrooms can grow there, but I'll take it)! The base may be a little big and distracting, but it's a creative re-use of the top of a tower. Great work, narbilu! I hope to see you more often in the Guilds!

Good work on the irregular shape of the wall and the matching roof, for that matter. The herbsman is a very nice figure and the vegetation is fitting. It could use some extra tiles on the interior, imo. One point of critisism: the use of (light) tan for the ground is maybe a little inappropriate for the Mitguardian setting. I'd go for dark tan, earth green and dark/light bley. Sure, there are loads of challenges, many of which I still need to try, too. Natural curves (i.e. for a dragon body, foothill or pack of snow), motion-capture (i.e. explosion, flying object, minifig action scene), weird angles (i.e. roof of a house, rock face), incorporating functions, decorative base, just to name a few examples. Happy building!

Thank you! Though the moderators generally don't really appreciate the bumping of old topics, I'm glad you did! It's nice to see new people are still getting into my saga from the very beginning. I guess better late than never: thanks for the compliments, Blufiji and John!

Giants? That's certainly an original idea! We've had bigfigs many times, but real human-like, friendly giants have never appeared (not counting larger scale figures from Technic, Scala and Galidor). With specialized parts for the body with a lot of connection points, it would be a larger version of the bigfig but with improved customization and articulation. I imagine characters like a musician (male) with brick-built instrument, a librarian (female) with a big book, the King of the Giants with a throne room, a warrior (male) with a big hammer and the child giant (female) around which the plot revolves. Sounds totally believable to me!

What if the ninja do not even have (the same) elemental powers here...
-
Suits him so bloody well!!!

I feel the same way, although it's not that bad to get a spare Zukin robe. No real interesting parts this time, aside from the small gold bar.

Let's keep the cast discussion for the movie thread, guys. The ninja look fairly traditional on one hand, but kind of dandy on the other, especially Jay. I think I can get used to the new hair styles, besides, new hairstyles in brick form are always welcome! Anyway, Jay is going to be in the July magazine:

I took the liberty to leave out a few parts here, but the points you are making are painfully valid, and I wasn't fully aware of that before your post. I have to thank you for this, sir. The recently suggested projects (including in my post earlier, more on that later) are no longer products of trolling, but made thoughtfully and with significant quality. For example, this project has awesome figs, pleasant colour scheme and nice parts usage, even, yet it was suggested a page back. It's not even close to being bad! It is shameful that such projects appear here. I feel obliged to apologize for my post from yesterday: The choice of words is very poor. I was genuinely entertained by it, in the sense that it looks so derpy and funny but also, well.. not quite good/accurate. It's certainly instantly recognizable, but just the thought of how it would translate back to animated form made me laugh and made me want to share it. Regardless of this being bad in a good way or good in a bad way or whatever, the creator was serious when developing this, and therefore, I apologize for suggesting it in this thread, even though it's kinda fitting for a thread that is named "The best of the worst Lego Ideas".

So, about the style... this was posted in the movie thread: These are most likely partly preliminary, but it seems like a re-imagining of the team as we know it.

Catapults, battering rams, telescopes, Dwarven iron forges, magic instruments, water wheels, wind mills; all of these can be found at least somewhere in Historica. Not sure about gunpowder, but magic can have the same impact. Rails should be fine in Mitguardian setting, I think. The combo is either custom, photoshopped, or that forestmen hat piece and two brown thorn/seaweed pieces upside down.

Omg, there's news!! Indeed, I wouldn't have imagined it being so different, but I think that's good. What is a little odd are the categories under "themes". If I were to describe the tv series with a list like that, at least 'supernatural', 'fantasy' and maybe even 'sci-fi' should be present. 'Martial arts' and 'outdoor adventure sound good', though. The figs are probably preliminary to a certain extent.

Free Build Registration (5th Quarter, Deadline May 1st, 2016)
Exetrius replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
That is indeed a misleading phrase. I was almost sure it read something along the lines of "create one posts for all your builds ... etc", but I checked the first posts of this and earlier quarters and I can't find a phrase that explicitly states to do so. But seeing posts of others, I thought it would make sense to keep all of my builds in one post, like this: -
Found this today: It's.. eh... entertaining. Anyone, please, make a fanart of this masterpiece! Oh btw, I'm very pleased with the new max part count limit rule.

I am afraid you are wrong in most of what you are saying here, but that's okay, I will provide you with some basic information. First of all, there is the ongoing tv show, the sets are based on characters, locations and vehicles in that story (for the most part): http://ninjago.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_LEGO_Ninjago:_Masters_of_Spinjitzu_Episodes However, the small side-build vehicles and shrines, and dojos in the sets are often not accurate to the show. Anyway, the ninja team: Kai - ninja of Fire Cole - ninja of Earth Zane - (a.k.a. Titanium Ninja) ninja of Ice Jay - ninja of Lightning Nya - (a.k.a. Samurai X) ninja of Water Lloyd - (a.k.a. Green Ninja, Ultimate Spinjitsu Master) ninja of Energy/Golden Power (not really sure) I think this should clean up most of the confusion. If you have more questions, you can just ask in the Ninjago 2016 set discussion thread or the Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitsu show discussion thread.

Don't think that I can express my thoughts about this set better than this! I am picking this one up for sure! Excellent for display, play or just the parts. I'm loving the traditional styling on.. eh.. green guy. -
I sure hope so, at least something that gives us a good idea of the turn that Ninjago will take.
-
I don't understand what you are saying. None of the ninja does have a temple dedicated to him/her. The only temples dedicated to an element are the Temple of Light and the Temple of Fire. I would love to see more elemental temples, though, but that a different thing for a different thread.
-
Pretty sure about that, the face prints that we have are more neutral expressions.
-
Yes, that scythe was pretty good, nicely decorated I hope the Movie sets will bring us all characters with multiple accurate expressions (per fig) and cool weapons, rebooted versions of old ones or complementing the Four Golden Weapons for the other elemental masters. What coloured weapon holders do you mean exactly, can't seem to find them on screenshots.
-
Underwhelming, to put it mildly... I doubt the torso/head prints are going to make it worth it.
