My Whole LEGO layout - the town of Barretts Station
THERIZE replied to Murdoch17's topic in LEGO Train Tech
i think the big tender is actually better! The new one looks to long in my eyes. And There are steam locomotives with large tenders like those. -
You could try to gear the wheel down but an controller can also be fun...

Getting started with monorail (how bad an idea is this) . . . .
THERIZE replied to Breakdown's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I don't have monorail myself but i think only the middle motor is needed for powering. I have seen emerald night as a monorail so i think modding is possible. -
and have the Backhoe and crane to move the scrap! Then you have a scrapyard lego set...

What is the handiest way to power a 3 axle bogie? Im building a LKAB 6 axle locomotive and i don't know how i could power a 3 axle bogie with power functions. I have seen some designs with motors placed vertical above the bogie but i don't know how to attach something like that to a frame. And what would be the best motor to power it? Thank you for helping!

[MOC] 60052 meets clone brand: Dull City Railway
THERIZE replied to Princess Amy's topic in Community
One tip: the lightning is pretty bad. Try making pictures with more light. It doesnt need to be fancy studio light, a 5 euro flashlight would be enough. and the build: well its different. I have never seen a design like this but it looks cool! -
Your shunter is also nice! I never thought about using a standard battery box...

tomorrowland is a Dance event in Belgium. I don't know what the tomorrowland train is but i think that's related to the event.

im from Holland (europe). I saw it on 'brickshop'. And that is strange because brickshop usually is the store with the first new LEGO sets in the shelves.
-
Good start! Only suggestion would be making it longer. Although i could see a small Santa Fe locomotive working as a shunter at a yard! Oops i clicked 'quote' instead of 'edit'.

Thats a cool one! And those long coaches! Very nice work with the lights!

Just looked at a store for 60098 and it is expected in November...

Man it looks epic! Won't bid on it. Can't spend more money on LEGO sadly. And brickworld is in chicago? That's a long trip for me.

and what I wanna ask, would this be a good starter set for a power functions newbie?
-
i still see some 3 car sets.

I also saw, it on the website of a big dutch lego site. 180 euros. I can't wait for the release. I could buy one in discount.
