  1. Endor's been on retirement watch for a while now. Get it ASAP. Slave I is a year newer, so it's likely to disappear next year sometime. There's no way of knowing how long sets will stick around...usually two years but some stick around forever like the Death Star or the recently replaced X-wing.
  2. Given the old heads, it's not like the helmets were ever off anyway. Just keep the helmet on like always. The problem I have with the faces is that they don't need to be seen, but by TLG making them this way they likely cost more to make. Pointless faces adding to the cost of a set.
  3. I hope you consider doing this for models there isn't an equivalent UCS model for, such as your podracers.
  4. If only the Advent Calendar had given us a Lumpy figure. I'd love to see Lucas try to track down and destroy all of the calendar sets.
  5. 2127 parts for R2? While I was hoping for over 3k, that's enough to make a detailed R2 in a reasonable price range. So I'm thinking a Sandcrawler build (bricks instead of plates)? About a foot high (.3 m)?
  6. First off, let me say that I really like the site and what you guys are doing over there. Now to my point. Numerous times I've tried to have discussions about Star Wars, without the LEGO part of it, and every time it's been shutdown. "Off-topic. Has to be about Lego Star Wars." Fair enough, this is a LSW thread. What I'm confused about is the separate site. Is it ok to link to a different website for topics that have nothing to do with LSW? If a new user came in and tried to promote their SW website, wouldn't that topic be locked?
  7. They were. They also came framed with a certificate of authenticity. Considering how much they'd be worth, you'd never find them in some wishy-washy eBay auction.
  8. Love the planets up close. Really wish the label didn't reference the figure and MINI as well; I'm buying Tatooine for Tatooine, not for the Episode I connections. That's quite the doubleplusgood accomplishment.
  9. It pretty much has. You can change the hair, cape, waist attachment, backpack, accessories such as guns, lightsabers, binoculars, etc. It's not a Barbie but all mini figures are Barbie-like when you can customize them. The only way it would be a Barbie is if the hair was artificial and not a plastic mold.
  10. What is the thought of giving characters who wore robes an actual robe mold/cloth instead of a cape? Is that pushing it too far?
  11. For a display piece it's amazing...it includes pretty much all the Death Star scenes while still keeping its shape. It's the most commented on set I own. Don't hate it because of its price, it's worth every penny.
  12. Because then you can act out every Episode IV scene with the Falcon. The droids aren't a huge loss, they're in plenty other sets and not as rare as old Obi-Wan or Episode IV Leia.
  13. But can we revote when new figures are added? This poll won't be fair if everyone starts voting before they see all the entries.
  14. I'd take a one-shot character over one I have duplicates of. I would take "Yak Face" or "Prune Face" over Boba. There will always be a chance to get another Boba. This is the only set that Max Rebo can ever be a part of. If he isn't made now he likely never will be. Granted, he likely won't be made, but it would be a treat. I prefer the muppets over that awful CGI dancer they added in the Special Edition. Also, my favorite character and many others favorite, Yoda, just so happens to be a muppet.
  15. I worry about Jabba's Palace given the jumbled mess of Hoth Echo Base. My only hope is that we get all the figures that are hard to get, old, or havent been made yet. This can be done if it doesn't include all the main characters, which it doesn't have to with the Desert Skiff set coming out. Jabba's Palace Jabba Rancor Gamorrean (2) Boushh disguise Chewbacca Bib Oola Max Rebo C3P0 Desert Skiff Luke Han Lando Weequay
  16. I'll assume you mean a Tusken Raider and are comparing him to a Shy Guy. I hope they appear in a future set with a Bantha. This theory of no famous characters is going to break when we get Luke or Yoda with Dagobah. I think any character is on the table now since they put in Sebulba who requires a fancy mold.
  17. Well that's because it's CW Yoda. Should they do a new Yoda based off the movies it will be more accurate.
  18. The kids driving the majority of the sales do not care how Legoish the figures are, they just want accuracy. If TLG stagnated on figure design they would get passed by other brands. Old Watto is fine, but the new one is more accurate, hence it is better for TLG. Figures are getting better. Parts are getting better. TLG is getting better.
  19. The Endor one coming out this summer has an AT-ST with an AT-ST pilot. I believe the trend is to include whomever would/could be piloting the MINI (although an Ewok did do that).
  20. Ehh... I think that characters with human dimensions can be accurately represented with minifigs from the '99 era, but a lot of aliens require molds to look halfway decent. Let's not forget that TLG has to compete with other toys, and letting their minifigs stay "pure" isn't going to impress kids and keep them ahead of lesser quality knockoffs. If we're going to argue about their minifig designs changing, then we should support them going back to the old minifig design. TLG has to evolve. The figures need to keep getting better. The LSW figs now don't mesh perfectly with the '99 figs, just like the Lego City figures of today don't mesh with the '74 figures. It's progress. Lego is doing a great job with their figures while still keeping the signature shape of a figure intact, which is commendable.
  21. I thought the dome was printed? Is it a sticker you can remove? If not, it will probably be a swirl of blue and white making it questionable in other MOC's.
  22. Well, to be picky, if you listen to the Star Wars radio drama of ANH, Tarkin is actually very worried and only pretends to be as arrogant as he is in the movie during the attack. Vader sure sees them as a threat or else he wouldn't have bothered to get in his ship. I guess my point is that you can counteract a lot of statements with the EU since Lucas will approve just about anything, but the general consensus is that the Interceptor wasn't mass produced until after the Battle of Yavin. I don't really care about the MINI itself; I'm just going to throw the parts in the part bin. I just want to be assured that TLG has someone on staff that realizes the Interceptor wasn't actually there. Note that this is a very small gripe and overall I'm very excited about the planet line, the MINI's and figures are just bonuses to me.
  23. The TIE Interceptor didn't exist at the time the Death Star was around. I understand an Imperial ship with an Imperial base, but putting a future vehicle with a past planet just bothers me. I hope they attempt a DSII with blacked out areas to represent the gaps. Probably won't, but I can still hope.
  24. The only two ships associated with Dagobah are Luke's X-wing and an E3-standard starship lifeboat that Yoda used to get to Dagobah. Since the Yavin-4 set will have the X-wing, they should make a mini E3 for a Dagobah set. Then again, they gave the Death Star a Tie Interceptor so they have no regards for continuity.
  25. I didnt read the dates, sorry. When a topic is at the top of the list I just assume that all posts on the last page are recent, especially when I'm posting from my phone. It's not like I bumped a dead topic to say something. I'm not going to undermine the staff with lots of suggestions on how to run the site, I think my only suggestion ever was titling the image tags on hover so I could know what people have accomplished (or in my case, punished for). My issue was just that he seemed embarrassed for voicing an opinion, and I didn't see him getting any support from any other members, so there you go.
