  1. Well, he wasn't at Hoth, so I wonder why he would be there. Oh yeah, that's why.
  2. His character is a homage to the 1951 movie The Day The Earth Stood Still, referencing the famous line "Klaatu barada nikto". Nikto is referenced elsewhere.
  3. This sounds incredibly stupid. The figures are the only thing going for this set.
  4. I like this version much better, especially moving the specially molded pieces to the lava bank.
  5. Given the recent trend, I think we'll get multiple figures with this set. A pilot of course, but I could see it coming with characters from the Home One set, such as Ackbar and Mon Mothma. Possibly someone new like "Prune Face".
  6. I don't understand why there's a massive wall behind Obi-Wan, the ground was sloped but still flat. Whose battle was their last? They both have future battles, and even battle each other again.
  7. Overrated and overpriced. If you want Star Wars art go buy something from Ralph McQuarrie or one of the many other artists who have done unique designs. I bet multiple people could pull off these pictures with a nice camera and Photoshop.
  8. Hate Santa Maul. While I wasn't a fan of Santa Yoda either because a green neckline is the only new thing about the figure, at least Yoda as Santa is somewhat charming. Santa Maul is akin to Santa Satan. Some characters should NOT be given loveable roles.
  9. I currently have never resold a set. I keep the manuals and boxes though in case I ever needed to sell them for financial reasons, you never know what will happen. As for selling for a profit, that's an interesting game. You'd need to find sales, and they'd need to be on high reward sets that are about to go out of print. For instance, getting the Death Star on sale now would be a steal since it will likely command a high price when it's off the market. You'd need to figure in shipping costs, and the time your money is waiting on a resell instead of out there working for you in other investments.
  10. It's confirmed by the catalog, the B-wing is there but is still in "unrevealed shadow form".
  11. I don't know why we're not allowed to have controversial topics as long as it has something to do with LSW. It's much more entertaining than "I want this set, and this set, and this set" as well as "they should make this set with 10 figures and it cost $20." Speaking of which, what happened to the "Is Anakin good/evil topic? Sometimes this forum is a killjoy on anything slightly off base, as soon as a thread gets moved it dies because no one visits the other areas.
  12. Had they continued doing that they would not be liked. They quickly learned the error of their ways and ended up powering the city with laughter. They make a transition from misguided to good, whereas Anakin goes from misguided to evil. There's a big difference. They also didn't murder any children like Anakin did. People are judged for what they are and will become, not what they were. Anakin is not a little kid trapped on a desert planet, he's a selfish, angry Jedi who has already murdered many people and will eventually become the biggest mass murderer in the galaxy.
  13. I thought the in-universe answer to that was the Rebels couldn't afford to throw money into fancy software interfaces. Their ships were highly competent though, and they were constantly working to improve their fleet as shown in RotJ with the A-wing and B-wing.
  14. The corporate response says that Anakin was good in The Clone Wars, but by then he had already murdered a bunch of women and children, among other things. In fact, he's so hard pressed to find good things Anakin has done he lists "won the podrace" and "built C-3PO" as good things. Would losing the podrace make him evil? Does building a robot designed for edicate and protocol to clumsily do chores instead a good thing? Anakin is never really good to begin with anyway. he's just selfish. He's the most selfish character in the galaxy. Me, me, me. I'll do what I want, when I want! He dates Padme when told not to, never listens to Qui-Gon or Obi-Wan, doesn't bother to save his mother from slavery, whom he's supposed to love, for years and years, etc. He only gets in the podrace because he really wants to podrace, and outright lies to Qui-Gon that he will win even though he's never won at anything. He probably built C-3PO to get out of some chores. He destroys the Trade Federation ship just goofing around when he was told not to. Even in his redeeming good moment, he only saves Luke because the Emperor is killing something of his (and tried to have him executed only a minute prior). I understand kids don't really see him as evil, but that's my major flaw with the prequel trilogy...we're rooting for a character that is not just going to become evil, but is already evil midway through Episode II.
  15. I have a hard time believing this ship of many wings is so great, otherwise we'd have seen ships like this in the OT.
  16. No, I'm referring to sets like Ewok Attack and Droid Escape. They add more parts than needed to improve the model, and toss in some good figures. Those kind of sets used to be the cost of the battlepacks, but are now significantly higher. Of course we'd rather have the option of multiple small sets over large sets, but TLG makes less money that way. At least, I assume so, or else they'd go back to the way things used to be.
  17. Given how well the Delta-7 bombed, I think you'll be waiting quite a while.
  18. The slope is at such a small angle that it is practically unnoticed in the movie and by other toy companies. Also, not only would most people assume the cockpit was badly built, TLG would likely sacrifice stability to achieve that angle. As you've already pointed out, there are still tons of other problems to fix anyway, especially my favorite TLG problem (droid facing wrong way, again).
  19. It's a good start...could you use the bottom piece to replace your neck piece? You'll want your bottom piece to be about the same size as your head piece. Also, the body remains gray throughout so I wouldn't use white. Good so far though, I like the many "hands". I'm interested to see where this goes, and to get any tips on building one. Personally I'd prefer one at minifig scale, but there may be some techniques here I could use to shrink it down. Here's mine working in the medbay.
  20. They still make those small sets, they just cost more. Inflation + improved building techniques + costly figure molds = higher prices. The answer you're looking for though is TLG makes more money by forcing people to buy the higher priced sets to get all the figures they want. Figures are where the money is these days.
  21. The BTL-S3 (two man Y-wing) was never featured in the OT, and can only be seen in alternate works like the Holiday Special, video games, and other EU. It's unlikely TLG will ever make it, your best bet is to MOC it.
  22. Noooo!!! Get it out of the sun! My Executor is still sitting in its box, but it saddens me to know it won't have the same excellent modifications yours has when I get around to building it.
  23. Threepio is actually a figurine, so I don't mind having him in sets. Artoo is just a parts pack that TLG calls a minifig, so they gladly put him in every set they can. Almost everyone should have a decent army of R2-D2's, I know I do.
  24. I love how Luke is trying to hide from this MOC. Seriously though, you've made the barrel the focal point of this picture. Try taking a picture from literally any other angle.
  25. Love the tiles...not many people bother to tile their entire MOC, especially the rarely seen bottom. So you should be applauded for that. Also love the stand, I'm a big fan of stands where the vehicle rests on the stand and is not fixated to it. People want to pick up creations sometimes and they should be able to.
