Talk to the Star Wars Moderators and Regulators
StoutFiles replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I agreed with all your points, but then again I have a baby bottle as a special tag. I do feel that every theme should be treated equally though...and if we must play favorites, the older themes should get more respect. No need to apologize though, you've been here long enough to say what you feel and it was all valid. -
I still say it won't happen, the UCS line has never reissued a set. Perhaps when the license is about to expire they might as a cash grab, but until then they will keep releasing ships that haven't got the UCS treatment. Note that I don't own this set, wish I had it, and would buy it if rereleases. I just feel the UCS should maintain its collector line integrity and only have each ship released one time. Besides, a rerelease now would have the ship costing $700 due to inflation...you're all saving money by collecting parts anyway.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
StoutFiles replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Exactly. The sandtroopers searching the desert for the droids will be dirtier than the ones doing vehicle inspection at Mos Eisley. They will still integrate fine with other sandtroopers, but no, you can't take off their accessories and group them in with stormtroopers. -
They have made prequel UCS sets, including two from Episode 1. I agree though that PT sets are a much harder UCS sell right now, although that could change as kids grow up. The OT doesn't use as many new molds as the PT/CW does, so it would make since if the price per part ratio was slightly skewed. However, if there is a difference it's hardly noticeable.

They're both equally expensive.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

Let's not forget R2 is now in sideways. I can forgive ship details being slightly off, but having to reposition a character because of bad design is awful. To me it's like putting Luke in the cockpit sideways. -
LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

Agreed, the game is too old to fully enjoy now. I believe the Rogue Squadron series to be the best of the modern Star Wars games in terms of flying a ship. -
Good job, we have a lot of snowspeeder designs on here so I glad you didn't copy other designs. Not to be a stickler, but there is no T-47 snowspeeder. There's a snowspeeder, or a T-47, but not both together. The ship is a modified T-47 airspeeder, Incom never made a snowspeeder variant.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
StoutFiles replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
KOTOR was over 6 years ago. Its time has passed. I'd like some Shadows of the Empire sets, but its time has passed. -
Just makes me want an official Boushh disguise even more. Great work. Is this referring to another time that Boushh was actually there? You can't call him Boushh if it's just Leia in disguise.

This is very nice, although I hate seeing that bigger door from the Blu-Ray version.

I still don't know why you guys don't title the image tags. I have no idea what the majority of them are for...I can't be the only one who is in the same boat. If you can't title them for a hover explanation, maybe a page explaining all the tags and what they're for. I'm not just referring to these new tags, but all tags in general.

Fair enough. Save for a few large sets (DS, DS2, Executor, future Cloud City) I don't have the room for the UCS Falcon nor is it even remotely practical to buy now. This is the next best option...hopefully a 'Flail' design comes out for it to at least shorten the cockpit jutting out and to integrate the mandibles more than they are. Probably 4 times a year. That probably isn't enough, but oh well. If I wanted them to stay in mint condition I would have left them in their boxes. My sets will someday be old and brittle after years of air exposure, but I enjoy looking at my collection everyday so it's worth it to me. I didnt buy them to make money. If you truly hate dust, add an air filtration system to your glass cabinet.

What angle would you display it at?
-
I display mine at around a 30 degree angle. It hides most of the technic underbelly and helps show off the detailed top. I originally had it at 45 degrees but the cockpit was too prominent and I'd rather hide it somewhat since it's grossly oversized. I suggest making some sort of stand for it instead of propping it up against the glass. I make all mine out of Lego and let the ship sit on the stand instead of connect to it.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

I thought it was well known that the show hasn't been made yet because of budget problems. This show has been rumored for 6 years now. Please note that by quality, Lucas is only referring to special effects. Sigh. -

I'd prefer Boushh and Oola myself, as well as an updated Gamorrean. Max Rebo would be cool as well. There are plenty of creatures at the palace that did something, unlike two bounty hunters who just stood there for one scene. More than likely they'll come with a future Slave I set to help sell it. -
You're right, Lego had all yellow figures until '03. Its all very impressive of course but not as good as if it was all done back in '92.

I care a lot. Alderaan is incredibly important, it showcases the Death Star's laser which creates all the tension for the second half of Episode IV. It's destruction was very memorable.

Looks like Endor ™ Rebel Trooper ™ -
I enjoyed that ship. IMO, that's fine, the center piece was the Jedi starfighter, it didn't matter who flew it. My beef is with everything being fanon to the point it's not Star Wars anymore, even if the ship is very well imagined and constructed. SW forum, SW stuff. However, the mods have given their stance on it so I'll respect that.

I'm just wondering where the line is. If FBTB has a Star Wars pirate contest, where it's basically the Lego Pirate line but they're holding lightsabers, is that Star Wars? If the forum was filled with pirate ships it wouldn't bother anyone but me? If it was the Green Grocer but populated with Stormtroopers, is that Star Wars? We have a fun parody topic where it's loose and fun, but it's contained in one thread and it does use the canon characters. The two ships posted don't bother me at all actually. They're very well done and they're as close to Star Wars as you can "fanonly" get. I just wonder where the line is drawn for fanon creations because of how open ended Star Wars can be. As I've said, you can make ANYTHING Star Wars if you want. I'd like to know the rules, and whether it hinges on a back story, or a contest, or quality of the MOC, or random moderator discretion.
-
I don't want it moved, I just want to know the guidelines for the Star Wars forum. What makes it a Star Warsy ship in your opinion? Is it the back story? Is it the vehicle itself? Is it the contest? If the same ship had been introduced as a ship from Star Trek would it have been allowed because it still looks Star Warsy? My definition is hardly strict (your own interpretation of scenes, vehicles, or characters from canon Star Wars) so I'm not sure how loose we can be without letting anything in. All I'm asking for is some guidelines, so if anyone from the space forum wants their ship to be seen here as well, all they have to do is come up with a Star Wars back story. The ship is great. I'm not trying to take away anything from the ship here. I just want to hear the rules on MOC's and how they pertain to being allowed on the Star Wars forum. I won't knock the rules, I'd just like to know them.

[UCS MOC] Escape from Docking Bay 327

So very awesome. The lights make all the difference. -
I'd like all the movie planets to be covered first. Then start the CW and retreads.
