  1. With the loosest guidelines ever. I can make a website page detailing a contest if that's the guidelines for posting a space MOC in the forum. I can make up a contest and say "it's Star Wars" but let people make up their own ships and characters. Seriously, I'm really tempted. They'll be half-assed, horrible MOCs but they'll be Star Wars because I'll follow the guidelines. They better not get removed from the forum either because I will follow all the rules. 1. Story background for ship and character. 2. Contest backed by another website. 3. Contest is supposedly Star Wars themed.
  2. Anything could be a Star Wars ship. Space MOCs aren't normally allowed in this forum, but if you say "oh, well the pilot is a bounty hunter" its suddenly Star Wars. I'm wondering where the line gets drawn. You could even bring in Lego City MOCs if you make up enough of a backstory describing a planet that is exactly like Earth. Both contest ships are awesome, but they are fanon space MOCs, not ships from Star Wars.
  3. How is it Star Wars based? Build a new original bounty hunter and a ship for them to pilot. Spaceships and bounty hunters aren't even close to being Star Wars specific. If anything, it asks you to branch away from Star Wars and do something original. You could take any ship MOC on the Space forum with a pilot and call him a bounty hunter, and you've fit the loose guidelines. I mean, I don't care if we allow Space sets over here, but if we allow this one then we shouldn't redirect other Space MOCs either. Might as well let them all in.
  4. So are we now allowing any space MOC to be on the Star Wars forum? I'm not trying to be difficult, I'm just wondering. Should we link the two forums together?
  5. It really should be in sci fi. Everything space related could technically be Star Wars. The forum should stay on topic. Great ship though.
  6. To be perfectly honest, I'm happy prices are going up. I already own just about every ship from the OT already, so I don't really want to be tempted to buy remakes forever. And, of course, high prices help hold the value of the sets I already have. Certain sets I'd be more than happy to pay the premium on, such as a new Cloud City set, which would be more than worth it.
  7. Wow. If so this is a HUGE markup from previous years.
  8. It's a great cave. I won't throw around perfect like everyone has been doing, because it is very loosely based on the shots from the film, but it's a very nice cave given the small dimensions. I like the lighting as well.
  9. Agreed, power functions on a display model would be pointless and would only raise the price.
  10. It's a popular debated subject. The Y-wings in the Death Star trench are missing their droids but they should be there, there's an empty space for them. An unconfirmed mistake by Lucasfilm. There are three different droids seen in the ship at the hanger, one being an all gray R2 unit. The actor who played Vander is quoted as saying the all-gray R2 unit was his. So, TLG picked the wrong droid most likely.
  11. By that same logic you should not care what we choose to discuss since these are all toys based on a fictional universe. None of this really matters. I can't understand why people try to downplay the product to change the discussion, it's contradictory. I agree though, we should probably continue any further X-wing design discussion in a different thread so as not to bury the new pictures. No one has to get over it, but it should be localized somewhere else.
  12. The only summer sets confirmed are the Planets.
  13. I concur. The TLG guy said there was something in the '12 line that can't be missed, and won't be seen again. My guess is a large molded Rancor.
  14. Well, Cloud Car pilots have white uniforms with some yellow here and there. It is still likely Lobot, but I'd rather have the pilot since Lobot will likely be included in a future CC set whereas a pilot would probably not. I think if they wanted to revisit planets, they would have have planets be a random grab bag of figures/vehicles to sell more of them in the first place. Maybe they will go back to sell more, who knows. I just don't think its likely but the planets are new so there's no history to fall back on what TLG will do. Just saying the skiff has been done as a cheap set before, and with the Droid Escape set coming out it's more likely were getting a small 20-25 set for the summer. As for the lack of PT sets for the 3D rerelease, that puzzles me as well. I expected a lot more. We do know Queen Amidala will find her way into some set this summer though.
  15. The desert skiff was a standalone system in the past, it isn't surprising they would make another. I doubt theyd revisit Tattooine in the planet sets so soon as well, lots of other planets to make.
  16. That's nice and all, but I will continue to voice my displeasure with elements of a set like anyone else. I will not "get over it", and am frankly offended that a moderator would want to silence any conflicting viewpoints. It's my opinion, and I'm welcome to voice it when the topic is brought up. I'm not the only one who doesn't like certain sets (far from it) and I'm not the only one who questions TLG decisions from time to time.
  17. You're setting a disappointing precedent by saying that everyone should "get over it" when voicing dissatisfaction with a set decision. I think we have the right to complain about a set just as much as we praise a good set.
  18. His visible legs would still be the wrong way. If we turn the pilots head 90 degrees it doesn't change the direction he's sitting. I'm more surprised that Fallen supports this change. I feel like TLG could work this in correctly if they cared more about it. Putting him in sideways is the easy way out.
  19. Until all the TIE's are designed this way, the new TIE looks out of place with the others. Or, rather, all the others look out of place with this one.
  20. So was Yavin IV. The Death Star is man made. It should just be "Large Circular Sets".
  21. "This is Rogue Two. I've found it. Repeat, I've found it." "Yeah, the Death Star is pretty big Zev." "Cut the chatter!"
  22. Could I have a tag perchance?
  23. Any chance the pilot could be Biggs or Wedge? We really need an updated version of both of them.
  24. They still can. There isn't one SW set that you can't get on the aftermarket. TLG can only make so many sets a year. Every reissue means a brand new UCS set doesn't get made for a ship no one owns. I'd rather the line move forward rather than back. I'm not opposed to the idea of, once the SW contract is set to expire for good, releasing a new UCS Falcon, bigger with a full interior for an insane price as a last farewell to the line. Until then, keep the new sets coming.
  25. This is a remake of 7104 Desert Skiff. Since the new Droid Escape added two characters, maybe the skiff will add Lando and/or a Skilling and/or a Weequay. Please don't give us another Chewbacca though TLG, I'm already drowning in Chewies. He can mix and match into any set so stop including him.
