People in general like having things that others don't. They also don't like paying a high price for something "rare", only for it to become not rare and therefore cheapened. This topic has been covered extensively in the UCS remake thread.

The Executor will be on shelves for another year, it does not make sense to have two UCS sets in that high price range. The B-wing will fill the gap left by the Imperial Shuttle.

This is a fantastic MOC, but when multiple UCS AT-AT's have already been built, you will get nitpicking. Don't be offended Anio.

A nice idea but the price would be horrendous. I think some people underestimate just how much plastic would go into making one, especially one that's sturdy.

Neh, I've tried arguing this point in the past and got shutdown by the mods. If you can make a case for it to fit in SW for any era, it's allowed. It's only pushing it IMO during large sci-fi contests when the vast majority of ships aren't technically SW. Great ship by the way, I like the protruding translucent pieces.

Glad I'm not the only one who agrees with an angled display. The ship is best viewed overhead, so if placed high up its almost required that you angle it to show off the top. Of course, both your stand and ship are better.

The amount of money spent on Legos does not make you a Lego Star Wars fan. Are we saying that an 8 year old with poor parents is any less of a fan because he can't go buy sets? You are a fan strictly by liking LSW and following the releases. If you do want to argue money though, it needs to be in correlation with yearly income. A billionaire spending $100,000 on Legos is not as impressive as a guy spending $10,000 on $30,000 income, or a kid using all his Christmas money on Legos. As for TC-14 being for the fans...no, not really. If they want us to have one they'd sell them for $4.99 instead of forcing a huge bulk purchase, likely without a sale unless you buy an older set. They are pretty much forcing people to go buy LSW sets in May to get this figure. I pat myself on the back everyday for not going down the dark road of figure collecting because it just gets more and more expensive with all the exclusive promos.

On Brickset, the City fans were discussing rereleasing sets from the modular building line, specifically Cafe Corner. Near the end of the thread, the actual TLG designer of the set showed up to give his thoughts on the matter. Take from that what you will, but it appears TLG is not in the business of rereleasing sets if they can help it.

The Super Packs are pure genius by TLG. Say you're a kid and are dead set on getting three sets of a certain era. Well, your mom goes and buys a 3-in-1 because it's cheaper bundled up and is 3 sets like you wanted. Now you have to still buy the two other sets it didn't cover. Maybe now you really like a set from another era and want to collect sets to go with that one now. Fact is, it makes little since for TLG to make a pack of sets that fit together. They want you to buy more sets and this is the way to do it.

So what did we decide on? Keeping the current trend (collectors happy, people who want new ships) is good for TLG, but there's hope that before the license ends that they revisit some popular ships (X-wing, Falcon) before the license expires (people who missed out, people who enjoy accuracy)? To be honest, either one is fine with me as long as the UCS line continues, especially at two sets per year.

I apologize for doubting you; I hadn't heard of it being confirmed by anyone before yesterday, just wishful thinking. Even though Episode 1 disgusts me, I much prefer a chrome protocol droid (that doubles for E-3PO/U-3PO) over a useless chrome Ewok.

If this member were Fallenangel, then the forum would be better off for it. As it is though, let's keep this thread on track, alright? If anyone wants to talk about the forum's supposed descent into chaos please do it in the mod thread.

Well I don't care for TC-14 but this will make a fine E-3P0 in MOCs.

A better comparison would be set weight vs price. But yes, inflation exists; the 15 cents per burger ratio of the 1940's doesn't hold up either. Sets cost more but people are (supposedly) being paid better since then so it all evens out.

I would second that. Though I still think, for the time being, that the current mods are doing a good job.

I'm sure there is criteria that has to be met such as daily activity, years on the site, maturity, etc. Also, I believe asking to be a mod, especially publicly, is a good way to never be asked to become a mod. Just my guess though. So far I've noticed no chaos; infact, the 2012 thread was cleaned by our newest mod quite nicely using fear.

I don't remember anything about TC-14 ever being confirmed. Can you show a source?

I highly doubt it. Sometimes we forget these are mainly for kids who won't care if the other face can be seen. As for displays, just make sure Oola is facing forward. It's slightly annoying but I prefer having both faces over just one.

These threads have been a joy to look at, keep it up! Here's hoping you go for every scene in Episode IV.

I hope Siegfried is our new main mod; I like his style. The best and most helpful comments are usually negative ones...we don't have many of those around here.
