Centaurs of the universe
blackdeathgr replied to AmperZand's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Excellent figbarfing and while I also liked BF centaurs too, I never ordered them due to customs skyrocketing the price. I guess TLG (or BL) is going to grab my money instead That makes two of us! Now let's place a Hercules Disney minifig next to them!- 6 replies

True that. Still it has its charm (which evaporates as soon as you check its price at bricklink ) -

A huge plus regarding backpacks imo. That permits you to accesorize your troops to your heart's content (pans, knives, axes, to name but a few)! -
Same. Although I had way more pirate minifigs than Imperials (this has been rectified now), the 3 Islanders I own till today, were sympathetic towards Pirates.

José's Inn - Ye Olde BoBS Drinking Hole
blackdeathgr replied to Darnok's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
@Bregir @Capt Wolf For me it's the summer. Quarantine sort of ended, the sun is clearly calling me to walk by the sea and while my bricks and my Imperial instincts are really calling me (politics these days have really escalated in BoBS), I can't help but feel that meeting with friends and drinking under the moon in a cosy tavern by the sea is something I cannot resist these days! Oh, well, I really have to combine both it seems! Great builds indeed guys! I also like that new energy in BoBS these days that drives us all forward! I can't help but wonder how "Pirates of Barracuda Bay" set helped with all that As always, stay safe and have a nice holidays for those that will actually go! -
Good job people! Nice depiction of Native tribes and great stories that got unfolded! Just wait till the end! . The Oleon strikes back!

The Gran Military Encyclopedia of Oleon
blackdeathgr replied to Keymonus's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Unit Name: 4eme infanterie du bois Unit type/specifications: Light Infantry Officer (l), private (r) Uniform Description: Private, blue jacket with black, gold and white facings and white epaulets, white trousers, standard army tricorn. Officer, blue jacket with white facings and golden epaulets, white trousers, bicorn with white feathers on top. Equipment Description: Private, standard issue musket. Officer, sabre and/or pistol Recruitment center: Oleon border provinces Unit history and description: The elaborate, near-feudal system of Oleon, dictated that the guarding of the border provinces fell in two hands; the kingdom and the people living in these provinces. To entice people to move and more importantly remain in border provinces, the government had a land-lease system that in essence gave farmers free land to cultivate and work, provided that they stay fit and properly drilled and equiped for war, be it at their own provinces or overseas such as the colonisation of Oleon. Those farmer soldiers were harsh but hard working people and they surely knew how to fight. Their knowledge of irregular warfare rough terrains, be it forests, mountains or even grasslands, saw their use in countless fights as light infantry, and a most effective one. They may lack the discipline of the famous Oleonaisse line infantry or their of noble descendance officers, but they surely know their weapons. Campaigns: Juniper War, Colonization of Le Bellan, The Grand Defense of Oleon Unit motto: "Toujours persévére" (always persevere) More about the unit: -

Unit Name: 4eme Pompiers aka "Les Feuyens" Unit type/specifications: Grenadiers Officer (l), private (r) Uniform Description: Private, blue jacket with black, gold and white facings and white epaulets, light gray trousers, standard army tricorn. Officer, blue jacket with white facings, light gray trousers, bicorn with red feathers on top. Equipment Description: Private, defensive or offensive grenades, small knife. Officer, sabre and/or pistol defensive (l), offensive (r) grenade Recruitment center: Oleon mainland and Colonies Unit history and description: The use of gunpowder for anything smaller than a cannon, brought changes in many armies composition. Oleon, being at the forefront of the military breakthrough, decided that a dedicated grenadier proper unit was highly useful, so "Les Feuyens" were created. Not many sane men want to be part of this unit (for reasons we all understand), but then again, who wants perfectly sane people handling explosives? The good food served to this unit is surely another enticement for young Oleonaises to join. In peace time, you will usually find these units stationed close to fortifications or way outside of any settlement. Rudimentary precautions are used such as no smoking (pipe or whatever) and as an observer will clearly notice, there is a lack of epaulletes in either privates or officers as were deemed too flammable. So were the feathers on the officers hats but themselves decided to keep them - always red, in honor the "Feu" eternal. Campaigns: Juniper War, The Grand Defense of Oleon Unit motto: "Tout brûle" (everything burns) for the 4eme, "Le feu nettoie" (fire cleanses) for the 5eme -

Unit Name: 3eme ("du Roi") Unit type/specifications: Line Infantry Officer (l), private (r) Uniform Description: Private, blue jacket with black, gold and white facings and white epaulets, white trousers, standard army shako with the unit’s badge. Officer, dark blue double breasted jacket with gold plastron at the front, completed with golden epaulettes, white gloves, dark blue bicorn with golden rim and unit's badge Equipment Description: Private, standard issue musket with bayonette, sabre. Officer, marchal's rod or sabre Recruitment center: Oleon core Unit history and description: Hailed as the most prestigious and effective units of Oleon Army, their name is but a mere number. Yet, never in the history of war in Halos, has a single number frightened so many armies oposing these elite units. Shooting, stabbing and trampling is the only way forth. These elite units have beared the brunt of many fights and almost always come on top. Campaigns: Juniper War, The Grand Defense of Oleon, etc. Unit motto: "Aujourd'hui on gagne" (today we win) -

And a single bullet pistol. You know, in case he wants to depart... The world can clearly see one foreigner eating TV's food for free. What else can a man ask??? And he has clearly overstayed their hospitality! -
