Hey! Colors are nice and leather for sails although stiff, isnt necessarily bad because they capture the full wind mode

[ESL-Ch2B] The smugglers almost get through
blackdeathgr replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great photography here and i also love that fort. I need to build one such later on when the game has expanded :-) Regarding forced perspective pics, do you build the whole ship or fort e.g. or just the part you want in the photo? -

The Empire of Oleon: Sign-up and Discussion
blackdeathgr replied to Sebeus I's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Welcome aboard Duke and Nicolas! Both stories feel intriguing and we are eager for their next chapters! May you prosper in the New World and Oleon will prosper with you! Happy building! -
The following story says it all! I wanted to create it in a more professional way but after a wise advice, i made it in MS PowerPoint, a program i was most proficient with. Enjoy! P.S: These stories are always coming from real life!

Earthwork fortifications - Ch2a
blackdeathgr replied to blackdeathgr's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
As always thanks everyone for your comments! What i finally built, wasn't the original plan i had in mind as i was thinking more of a shallow-ish trench or two with a "big-wheeled" cannon or something. But it eventually upon building it, it turned into something like "Maginot line" or something similar to the WWI trenches And i couldn't omit the cannon so i shoved it there totally unrealistically as most of you had notice (operators dont have view, cannon barrel cant turn and earth works might crumble upon firing this cannon). But at least the cannon is secured and isnt falling while i was moving the MOC for photoshooting! Another historical reason as to why cannons of that era were mostly uncovered or at least not entirely covered, i think, was that smokeless gunpowder hadn't been invented yet Indeed, thanks for noticing! it was a mistake and i corrected it (i had already posted a ch2b entry earlier ) -
Oo! A fine mighty ship! Great job on the design, colors and ofc the "dreaded" rigging!

Settlement: Eltina, Le Bellan, Oleon
blackdeathgr replied to blackdeathgr's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Earthwork fortifications | small fortification -
After the failed attack at Eltina, Oleander colonial leaders decided it was to their best interest if Eltina had some enhanced fortifications. Alas, with Eltina built on rather flat grounds with not much wood around (since most of the nearest small forests were cut down in order to establish sugar plantations), earthen fortifications were the most suitable solution. Below, our Oleon finest, enjoy themselves building them. And of course, given the significance of the fortifications in our proud military history, nothing less than a Field General was needed to supervise the whole task.

[ESL-CH2A] The Gun(s) of Ferro Azure
blackdeathgr replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I really liked your version of artillery emplacement! It can easily be used as piece of artillery in a strategy board game as well! I particularly liked the sloped earthworks dressed with timber and the ingenious depiction of the cut down trees so as not to obstruct the artillery view.- 23 replies

Really nice idea, especially for the heated canonballs (i knew someone would use these pieces as such), the sniper rifle and the baskets full of rocks. All these were real and thus makes this little MOC shine! I might steal that sniper rifle idea... Stealing from pirates...? Pfff... more likely returning it to the rightful owner
