Glassworks and Stone Quarry, Port Raleigh
blackdeathgr replied to Fuzzy MacFuzz's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
A nice colonial feeling stems from this nice MOC. I like the use of island base as quarry, the pieces used as hot glass and somehow the sea! Also i am happy i am not the sole person on earth that thinks these bandit torsos are fit for this era. Oh, better join bricks better (talking about the place where jungle meets glassworks at 1st pic)- 16 replies

blackdeathgr replied to Sebeus I's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I believe it is pronounced like (Nap)Oleon. Just put this word in google translation, press french and listen to the sound. I think that is the correct way to pronounce it given that this fictional derives from the french name -
[Cor - Ch2 CatA] Defending Horses against Pirates
blackdeathgr replied to SilentWolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I like the scene (fences, rockwork, foliage, horses) and as always very imaginative! Coupled with the other MOC for the running challenge is a really enjoyable thing to see. I will double on the cannon placement though. It feels a bit exposed and could be ommited (although admittedly it gives a feeling of sleeping power) -

Although the build was nice, i felt sorry for the poor little horses A great original idea and a nice implementation! My only notice would be the attention to photo-shooting as some photos were a bit blurred.- 5 replies

blackdeathgr replied to robinnilsson403's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Yippi yay for the first Oleander cotton plantation. Wool clothes itch indeed very much. But they are soo warm The cotton technic is indeed wonderful but the cart and the figs steal the show!! Oleander leadership approves! -

Excellent as usually!

Nice squad you got there Eslandolans! These greencoats look really nice. For the muddy tracks to look more distinctly, better use the same shade of green on the patches around them as dark green is distracting the view

[OL- FB1] The Temple Courtyard
blackdeathgr replied to Captain Genaro's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Excellent MOC, depicting an everyday life scene of our nation. Feel free to be embraced by the beauty and serenity of our temples and speak to our priest about calmness of mind and clarity of thinking. On the build, i really like the roof, the wall tiling, the water, the flowers and the multitude of minifigs that really make this moc shine! Great job as always Cpt!- 18 replies

I like this ship a lot! Using prefab totally worked on this one. The masts ar a case study for me and so is the rigging (countless working hours tying ropes for the (ratlines?) or whatever these ropes you use for climbing, are called). The green hatch is a nice feature as well and the number of cannons is realistic. And despite the fact that the cannons would usually be on the main deck, i cant seem to find any real problem with your version. My only concern (which i have seen many people do it) is the plate above the round windows that leaves empty spaces. I dont have much experience using them, but surely there must be a way to circumvent this. Overall a solid ship that can match any rival at sea.
