  1. Neat vignette. Love that angled checkered floor. Is that a paper/sticker torso on the left figure? Also, nice little read to go with it.
  2. Only in ML would explosives be stacked between buildings of a printing factory... Nice printing presses. Also, neat use of that piece (?) for the tray of type. Without knowing exactly what a person has in his/her collection to work with, it's difficult and risky. I'll pass.
  3. This is the first shot tower I've ever seen in LEGO form, and it looks great. That tan on grey color scheme isn't commonly used but it looks really good apart from the slight yellowing of the light. The brown shutters are brilliant, and I'm curious as to how you mounted the black lattice pieces inside those small panels. I haven't seen that done before. The various tan design elements help break up what would otherwise be a big flat expanse. I assume the other two walls are missing, and the open windows are just blocked off? Without an interior you don't really need them anyway. I suppose an interior would be a little bit tricky on one of these, with the hollow shaft running down the middle. It would be neat to see even if it's a separate build. How would you build the sieve? A window lattice, perhaps? The scale of the holes would obviously be way off but it would get the point across. Those classic palms are and always will be beautiful. I'll never understand why TLG stopped making them. Knowing the WTC, I fully expect someone to catch that snake and throw it from the top of the tower onto an unsuspecting passerby! Keep it up.
  4. Edit: Forget it. See above.
  5. Edit: Forget it. Nice still.
  6. Very nice little forge, apart from the lack of a chimney! The roof strikes me as too much of a kaleidoscope though: light and dark tan, regular and dark brown, dark orange, olive and sand green together is somewhat riotous. I think a max of 4 interspersed colors would look better. The best thing about all the LEGO forges is the fact that no minifig ever lost his hearing thumping on plastic swords!
  7. Nice pagoda with lots of good build techniques. The angles and gradual taper are nicely executed. Gotta love the round plates with holes, eh? And great to see you building again.
  8. Excellent courtroom scene and MCRA story. It looks very period appropriate. Powdered wigs! White-brimmed tricornes! It seems that Sir Dee has gotten a job as clerk of court... Good work.
  9. Absolutely beautiful. The layout and overall design are lovely, particularly that giant dome. What part is the lowermost blue portion of the dome made from? The color scheme is really good, and the renders turned out nicely. I especially like the view of the second-to-last pic for some reason. The trees frame it all well, even if they are a bit short. Keep it up.
  10. Beautiful design! When you first posted this I tried in vain to tell how you built the plants, so thanks for sharing that. The hillside is also a neat feature, along with further development and depiction of the natives. But... what is LLD?
  11. @Mesabi Yep that's me, the "Cool Random Project-er." Maybe my next one should be a long story... Merry Christmas and don't spike the eggnog too much.
  12. Very nice build and accompanying story. The facade is nice, the pergola looks great, the hedge looks properly prickly, and I like the construction of the handrails. The chess set is neat too, but considering the circumstances, I think they should pack up the Pawns and Bishops (hehe ) and break out an equally-sized game of "Battleship." Keep up the good work.
  13. Nice ship. The bow is pretty good, stern looks great, recessed lower gun ports are really nice, and the strings with stud ends are a great purist idea for shrouds. The sails look a little too blocky vs other digital designs, but the overall shapes are pretty good. But... like, seriously, man, a figurehead that angry should be holding a frying pan!
  14. Hmm... Santa's little helper looks a lot like Abigail Ratchford... All your large models are really well built. The white gears in particular are clever.
  15. Whoa... that's a beautiful lighthouse. The jumper plate technique works really well, but it does look a bit fragile. Here I thought building spiral columns from 2x2 jumpers was a pain, but that's child's play compared to this! Keep it up and welcome to Eurobricks!
  16. I love face shovels! Your first model was nice, and this one is even better. Excellent job with the design and overall shaping. The bucket in particular is really good, considering the small scale, and the teeth look perfect. And that engine is really cool too. The curved shape of the arm reminds me of the old O&K machines (now Cat). Is this model based on a specific design, or is it just a generalized creation? Looks good either way. How big do you think you could go at this scale, and using that type of parts (or something similar) for the cylinders?
  17. Such hogwash! "...an attempt by Corrington to reassert perceived naval supremacy of ages past..." Good write-up.
  18. Very nice addition to your prior "process" builds, both inside and out. The bellows are really good, and the trans-orange tiles as heated iron were made specifically for this, as far as I'm concerned. Good job showing the whole process, especially in a build this size. I like it.
  19. I'm surprised a horse statue isn't somehow featured here... And I wonder when they'll enlarge it to include a (beer) fountain...
  20. Neat. Wonder what that statue would look like with some white headgear...
  21. Neat build, and a cool concept, but methinks it could prove to be a handful in anything more than a light breeze! I think having a second wheel up front for stability would be more believable, but I do appreciate the effort that went into this. He certainly looks like a serious peddler with all that stuff. Something about the way this is worded:
  22. Beautiful, beautiful. One of my favorite buildings in GoH, for sure. The symmetry, architectural elements, use of color, etc are excellent. And I always like big domes; the number here is quite impressive. The central tower is fantastic. And the minor details - the fountain, tree roots, the assembled crowd - are all excellent as well. When you first posted the teaser pic of the dome being repaired, I wasn't convinced that it would really look that good in a build of your usual caliber. Ha!! I should've known better. With all the other domes, I think it enhances the build, and of course you can (and did) rotate it out of sight for certain views. I would love a copy of this.
  23. Beautiful kitchen! And I love those arches. I agree with Henjin regarding the fact that the columns and arches somewhat obstruct the view on screen, but methinks the overall scale is better this way. Great work incorporating all the detailed elements. It looks rather inviting.
  24. Nice house. The exterior design is good, and I'm impressed by the interior. I wouldn't have noticed the clock if it hadn't been pointed out, but... 3.25 hours to get dressed/dolled up?! No wonder he started hitting the bottle! But it's great to see a well-dressed lady, er, couple. Speaking of which... Answering "no" is a double-negative which is another way of saying "Of course blue is acceptable!"
  25. Marvelous as always, and instantly recognizable! Keep 'em coming. (More Pirates, of course! )
