[W-OKT] The Sea Horse Inn and Round Barrel tavern
Captain Dee replied to Tezclatipoca's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Part of me thinks this scene is almost too busy, but another part of me thinks it captures the energy and excitement of Oktober Fest perfectly. Nice job with the details of the buildings, and the interior shots are nice. -
Fabulous introduction, and welcome to the Brick Seas! There are so many nice features packed into this build. I look forward to seeing your contributions.

[GoC - Ship] Class 5 Xebec "Sternidae"
Captain Dee replied to LM71Blackbird's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice vessel. I appreciate the effort shown on both hull and rigging, and it's good to see another build in real bricks. Approved for the Glory of Corrington! -
[W-OKT] Barbaric longship !
Captain Dee replied to Professor Thaum's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Haha, way to turn the plot around! Perhaps they've taken to non-violent plundering: first, get the locals drammered hunk, then... um... The vessel is obviously nice, but the furled/unfurled tent and concealed details are nice as well. -
Hahaha, classic WTC... Where is the crying man's face from? Way back yonder in 1997-98, during a break from a school trip to NASA's Wallops Island, we stopped by an amusement park for the evening. I had one of those fabulous disposable cameras and when we stopped by the laser-rifle shooting range I learned that the camera flash would set off all the animatronic targets simultaneously. No, we did NOT get kicked out after a half-dozen flashes. Why do you ask?

Well that's a creative entry. Nice job presenting the first pic to hide the background.

Beautifully done micros! (And funny story...)

[W-OKT] Beer tasting at Weelond
Captain Dee replied to Maxim I's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Colorful build. I like the floor and table. I don't drink, but those customs are neat regardless. -
[GoC] Watching coffee beans dry...
Captain Dee replied to Darnok's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice coffee production setup. It reminds me of the collab from a while back. The drying racks in particular are clever. Approved for the Glory of Corrington! -
[GoC] Queen's Birthday Parade, Various Settlements
Captain Dee replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Just beautiful. The Jameston build looks a bit out of place - perhaps a combination of size and not as many details - but besides that these are all excellent scenes. I think Port Raleigh is my favorite. Approved for the Glory of Corrington! -
Nice table in particular, and the way the minifigs are seated and posed is good. And I'm impressed with the girl's armload!

Who doesn't like a good lobster? Pleasant little scene (well, except for the seafood-to-be!) The variety of animals is nice - pity TLG is so stingy with 'em - and I especially like the custom crab on the right. Where is the man's head from?

[COR] Prospecting on Gunpowder Island
Captain Dee replied to Legonaut's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice collab. The prospecting scene is nice and I really like the Martell(eg)o tower. It would seem to me that firing all the guns at once would indicate... that the fortifications are surrounded, and it's a last gasp attempt to fight off attackers! -
Another fine vessel. That custom hull is pretty neat and good job with the rigging.

This looks like a fun build, but not exactly a fun situation! It's certainly creative, and I like the color you've used for the water, but I must wonder how that small raft manages to support the weight of a deck gun...

[GoC] Class 3 Merchant Lugger "Plucky Manatee"
Captain Dee replied to Wellesley's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Very nice. I enjoy looking at your vessels and this one also turned out well. Approved for the Glory of Corrington! -
[GoC - FB1 - COR] Spirdkirk Forward Outpost
Captain Dee replied to LM71Blackbird's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
This looks almost like a set! The tower strikes me as a bit modern, but the tent is lovely and the overall scene is nice. I see @SilentWolf already gave some detailed input. Approved for the Glory of Corrington! -
[GoC] Queen's Birthday Parade, King's Harbour
Captain Dee replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Beautiful scene and good job with the rich variety of troops. That's rather impressive. Approved for the Glory of Corrington! One small gripe: the white rope almost looks like a ghostly noose just floating in the air...- 6 replies

[GoC - FB - COR] All Hail the Queen!
Captain Dee replied to LM71Blackbird's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Apologies for just now posting a reply. Nice design, good use of color, and a neat arrangement with the arch and landscape. I see the render issue was thoroughly discussed. Approved for the Glory of Corrington! -
[GoC - Gunboats] Colonial Gunboat Mk II
Captain Dee replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Beautiful gunboat. I especially like the form as seen in the last, elevated pic. I can live with the baseplate in the pics, if only to demonstrate just how big she really is! The variety amongst the crew somehow doesn't do it for me, but that's perhaps a matter of taste. Overall good work. -
[COR - FB] Charming the Locals
Captain Dee replied to Spud The Viking's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Well now... what have we here hear? Excellent action scene, and I love the use of lime green (or whatever it's "officially" called) as the base for the jungle. That alone enhances the build, methinks. -
[OL-FB] Armorer's Workshop - Acropolis Naval Yard
Captain Dee replied to The Sarge's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Apart from the gables being lower than the roof, this is a lovely build. The scale is quite believable for a colonial workshop, and I am especially impressed with the fact that you have so nearly perfectly captured what I call the "Colonial Williamsburg look" with the interior pics. I feel like I could step into the room. -
[GoC - Sloops for the RN] Class 3 Cutter
Captain Dee replied to LM71Blackbird's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I see @Bregir has already given some very good input, so I will cut to the chase and give my approval. I particularly like the fact that you made this in real bricks, even if your collection is somewhat limiting. Good work. -
[GoC - Gunboats for the RN] Class 2 Gunboat
Captain Dee replied to LM71Blackbird's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Aha... we have here a realistic version of that classic set, "Harbor Sentry." And a very good design at that. The panels work surprisingly good here. Keep it up. -
Nice office. I like the basic arrangement, the building design is creative, and the mangroves technique turned out well. The siding looks intense, but I suppose if ya got 'em, flaunt 'em, eh? I like that water technique too. All we lack is a good interior of some kind. Am I correct in assuming the boxes* of explosives are for clearing more such building sites, or fishing, or maybe just entertainment?
