  1. Show-off. Well, I have, like, 6 or 7. So there. Neat build, and well-written. I really like the big seafood platter/bowl made from the big half-shell pieces. I might have to copy that sometime. And I didn't know the crabs came in that light purple color. The fruit basket looks a bit large, but it's a good design. Are the red horn pieces supposed to be crab legs, or... ? You really need to stop making all these food builds. It's making me hungry. And of course I eagerly await the outcome of the food figh... er, duel.
  2. Question: are there any specific rules about flopping/diving, or do the "unfair play" rules apply?
  3. A solid build overall. Perhaps some fancy curtains and/or architectural elements around the windows could spice it up, unless you specifically want that particular look. Neat idea for the background behind the windows - if you hadn't shown it, I never would've guessed it. I really like the floor pattern. Is that white minifig a standard piece?
  4. I generally don't like stickers, and almost never use them. I prefer set designs that work without them. If something can't be done "in the brick" by TLG to create the desired look, then I prefer printed parts, so long as there aren't lots of them. Case in point: the trans-clear piece with the printed stained-glass rose from the Beauty & The Beast set. It's a beautiful detail that can't be done any other way besides a sticker; and I much prefer it printed if only for durability. Meanwhile, the trans-clear stained-glass panel of the dancing prince and princess from the B&B castle set is... a sticker (and one of the very few I've used.) I would've much rather had a printed panel. When a MOC or set goes full sticker bonanza, especially with customs, part of what makes it a unique form of artistic expression (like, uh, being creative with LEGO parts...) is lost in translation. But in that regard, to each his/her own. If other builders want stickers, have at it. And I just now learned that the xtra stickers even exist (whatever they are...).
  5. Nice frontier-look trading post. Just hope the natives don't go ape and steal the bananers. Oh, and I like the grille tiles on the roof. They give a unique texture.
  6. Question: can Captain Grey carry his own head? Just sayin.'
  7. Looks nice. That roof technique is pretty basic but it does work. The contrast of dark red against... whatever color of green that is looks good.
  8. Close. It comes to precisely 3 PSI (not pounds). Actually, I don't need the translation. I support the metric system every inch of the way. (Especially tires. Might I interest you in a set of 520/85r46" Michelins? )
  9. What did those pineapples ever do to deserve this... Very good posing of both man and beast.
  10. Ok, I'm going to write some words of praise, just as soon as I finish recalibrating my eyeballs... Magnificent composition.
  11. Neat little house. I really like the lower roof technique; it's rather creative. And nice use of the golden apple on the flag. But I wouldn't trust that monkey with swords and pitchforks lying around!
  12. Beautiful fort and clever design. I especially like the third pic; it really shows off the angles well. A complete layout like this would be fabulous.
  13. Looks pretty good. Those panels as sails are neat.
  14. Exactly!! Beautiful ship. She should be honored. I think it would look better if you used some gold decorations. I'm impressed that you built something that massive on a prefab hull, without making it look all funny. The headrails are nice and I like how you've used the masonry pieces turned around on the broadsides. The shrouds/ratlines are... glued? That seems more sensible than knotting, but it must surely take patience. Good work.
  15. Beautiful. What more needs to be said? Well, okay, I have to say that I like all the gold touches, especially the railings, and the stern decor, and... Excellent job recreating the vessel and on a prefab hull no less. The rigging turned out pretty good too. Plan on keeping her built permanently?
  16. You've built another fine vessel. I keep looking at the base, and thinking she's deceptively larger than she looks. The hull looks nice - perhaps a bit narrow, especially with the guns, but still nice - and I really like the rigging, which makes all the difference on something this size. And this is, what, about the tenth different type of vessel you've built now? Or am I guessing low?
  17. I was mobile when I saw it. It seems that not all devices show things the same. What did you think of the minifig? Remind you of KB, or no?
  18. Huh... I can see it just fine. I can't say what it is or who designed it, but being digital and with that particular type of minifig, it reminds me of something Kolonialbeamter might've done (perhaps someone with a bigger screen/better view can determine if the soldier/sailor is one of KB's "Kolonial Minions"). It seems he's abandoned EB, so we can't ask him...
  19. Beautiful build, yet again. You're making quite a start here in BoBS. The mass of solid white could perhaps be broken up slightly with some more bits of tan, or perhaps it would look better all white, without the dark tan, but otherwise it looks great. And the story is getting things off to a good start. But I keep expecting to see Zorro and maybe the Commandante come bursting into the scene at any second...
  20. Interesting native build. The concept is neat and the roof looks nice. I like the big rough-hewn poles in the structure, although the roof could possibly use some braces to support the outer edges. Otherwise, nice design.
  21. As @Bodi says this is more brig than clipper, but classification notwithstanding, it's a pretty good vessel. Nice job with the interior and the furled-brick sails are nice. I also think the staysails would be rolled on the bowsprit; otherwise it's a fine setup.
  22. Yep, that's the one.
  23. Another dr_spock classic!
  24. Ah yes, the occasional madness of Oktobeer Breast Fest... Good job with the design, particularly that impressive sign. "Don't drink and horse."
  25. Obviously that roof is fantastic, and the subtle integration of the modified/recessed bricks is nice. Oh, and a shout-out to gold parts on the roof.
