  1. What odd choices to turn into small 18+ sets. I won't be buying any of these since I find them way too expensive for their size and for what look like simple, straight-forward build experiences, but Yoda's Hut is the nicest of the three, I think. Like others have said, the trench run looks like a glorified GWP, and I find the pixelated look of the trash compactor too messy & simple for a display set. I'm glad they're trying new things, though, even if they're not my cup of tea. Perhaps this will bring us closer to highly-detailed, minifigure-scale models of ships that can be done at a 50 - 150$ price point à la Brickvault.
  2. When buying this online, the LEGO Shop should ship you each module separately every three weeks to get the true in-game experience. Nice MOC, have they done a Clash of Clans board game? It brings back memories of the old LEGO Games theme.
  3. If we get another Ewok Village set, it would be pretty funny/cute to get a baby Ewok.
  4. It looks fishy to me because it doesn't have the same cloudy/blue-y quality as the new trans-clear formula that's been used to make the UCS A-Wing & Gunship canopies, the T2 Camper Van & Ecto-1 windscreens, etc, but I'm keeping an open (skeptical) mind.
  5. Interesting that there's no mention of piece count. They mention that the set's price is "probably" 630 euros, like the Titanic, but I wonder whether it'll have more or less pieces, considering it's a much more skeletal structure, without as many opportunities to include large bricks or plates. It'll be interesting to see it in dark tan, since all official and MOC renditions have been in DBG or LBG. Shame that it's a remake, though, there are plenty of other landmark buildings around the world that are deserving of being turned into massive LEGO sets, but I get that the Eiffel Tower is one of the most famous monuments in the world and can reach a larger target audience.
  6. That's one of the coolest dinosaur molds I've seen in a while.
  7. Taking a better look at the Earth Globe, could it be that the continent name plates are shown glowing in the dimly-lit picture because those 2x4 rounded tiles are glow-in-the-dark pieces? They do have a bit of a greenish glow to them, so I'm guessing that could very well be the case. A very nice detail for nighttime displays.
  8. The Globe is very good-looking, it reminds me of the Typewriter in that it is a life-size (or near life-size) replica of a real-world object. I am rather surprised by the rumored 200$ price point, though, but we'll see how many pieces it has when it is revealed. The catalogue says it's a February release - two LEGO Ideas sets two months in a row, then. I wonder what the next two sets, 21333 and 21334 will be.
  9. A Tallneck, eh? I can see TLG pumping out a ~40 - 50cm statuette for 80$. I wonder what the ppp would be for a random AAA game, I imagine it will vary depending on the franchise (?).
  10. Looks like some people's orders are being charged and sent to the warehouse. Meanwhile my Fishing Boat is still in 'In Process' Jail
  11. Well, there he is. I only watched VII out of the sequel trilogy (the reviews of IIX and IX got rid of my appetite for new Star Wars content, and I've already been hurt too much before...), but for all of the sequel trilogy's flaws, performances is something I can't really fault for the cast. Adam Driver is a solid actor and I'm glad they got him on board for the new movies.
  12. Looks like somebody on the Bricklink page of the Castle found the pdf instructions! The set number is the only differentiating element between each pdf instruction link, so changing it manually gives you access to the other sets. A little bummed about there not being an access for the minifigures to get to the lower deck of the Great Fishing Boat, but that would just be a hidden internal detail, so I'm still very much looking forward to getting my copy Anyone know when the first batch is set to be shipped? I've been staring at the "In Process" status on S@H for days now...
  13. Sorry I'm a little behind on the flood of discussions about the rumored prices, but is the 530$ set confirmed to be UCS or MBS? I see a lot of people betting on it possibly being an MBS Jabba's Palace, which would be pretty cool, but does Jabba's Palace have enough going for it to be made into a 530$ set? I mean, the MBS Cloud City was pretty big and encompassed everything that was shown of Cloud City in Episode V, and it was still "only" 350$. Maybe Jabba's Palace + a medium-scale Khetanna to be able to also recreate the Sarlacc Pit scene would make more sense for that price. A 530$ minifigure-scale Sail Barge, though, now that would be the dream
  14. So there's (in order of approval): Earth Globe Sonic & Starry Night Lighthouse Foosball Table Office & Quartet I think the globe and Sonic already have rumored set numbers, 21331 & 21332, which leaves 5 sets in the pipeline for four rumored prices. Could the Office be a full building in the Sesame Street style instead of a sitcom setup like the Friends apartments? I can see the Jazz Quartet be 350$ or 300$, due to the size of both the original project and of the buying power of its target audience.
  15. The instructions will be available to download as PDF on desktop computers when the sets ship, right? Because this is the first time I am checking the instructions app on my device and my god is the performance absolutely abysmal - slow animations, misrendered images - it's terrible. Is there any way to boost performance or just download instructions as image files?
  16. Official images of the final sets from the first batch have popped up on the instructions app and are making the rounds on LEGO blogs. Wow, I can't get over how much official-LEGO-level pictures (or renders? They look too good to be renders ) make a world of difference when advertising a model. I was lukewarm on the Castle in the Forest when it first released but now looking at those pictures it looks delightful. Still happy about getting the fishing boat, though. I hope TLG makes the Bricklink designer program a yearly affair, though I doubt it.
  17. Hello, everyone, sorry for the tiny topic but is the VIP rewards center down for anyone else right now? The website interface loads, but the tabs for "Get a discount in-store or by phone", "Get a discount at LEGO.com", etc. are blank, occasionally displaying " We're currently in the process of building new rewards. Stay tuned for more soon!" Is anyone else having trouble accessing the rewards? I'm planning on heading to my local Store tomorrow and am riding on about 20,000 points...
  18. Searching for minifig-scale AT-ST MOCs and I came across this AAT from Brickvault: God I wish TLG made 18+, highly-detailed, not-necessarily-intended-for-play, minifigure-scale vehicles in the 30 - 120$ range. The UCS Millenium Falcon, Slave I and Imperial Shuttle, all of which are minifigure scale, are my favorite LEGO Star Wars sets trio, mainly because they look so good together in display. I get people like the helmets, the large-scale droids and the fancy 18+ vignettes, but I would be more than willing to exchange all of those to get minifigure-scale, UCS-quality vehicles. EDIT: Holy smokes, I'm absolutely astounded at how many minifigure-scale Star Wars MOCs there are on Brickvault. The Bricklink prices to get the necessary pieces to build the MOCs does kinda rain on my parade, but seeing all of those ships together only makes me want more for TLG to tackle something like this.
  19. I don't care for the interior except for the cockpit, which I am happy can accommodate Veers and the two pilots, but this looks like another UCS Star Destroyer situation where the set begs to be modded with more tiles and textures to reach its full potential. I'm eager to see official HD pictures and get the measurements of the set. I'll wait for the CAD price before making any decisions (I expect it to cost around the 1K mark ). I was lukewarm on 75252 before it came out but now, after modding it, it's one of my absolute favorite sets. EDIT: I spy a weird tool needed to bend the legs? On the bottom right of the back of the box, it's like a locking mechanism needs to be unscrewed for the legs to be able to move. If it is what I think it is, it's a good solution to the problems with stability while maintaining some mobility.
  20. Good to know we're getting close to the official reveal of the UCS AT-AT. I'd be surprised if TLG announced anything before the 8th, which is when the Titanic becomes readily available in stores and online. I'd imagine TLG would want to space out the release and the announcement of their two most expensive sets of the year. Did we get a teaser with the UCS Star-Destroyer? I remember the box leaked a few weeks or days before it was revealed.
  21. Three stadiums in three years? Wow, they sure seem to be taking the Landmarks subtheme by storm - they're releasing at a much quicker rate than the other, more general Landmarks sets like the Colosseum, Big Ben and Sydney Opera House. I wonder how well they are selling, though. They don't seem to be very popular in online discussions, but of course that's not necessarily representative of sales numbers. Interesting to see that the stadium is being rebuilt. I have no interest in the set, but I would nevertheless prefer to see the 'old' building, just because it seems to have more potential for a detailed facade. It would be strange to see the 'new' building being made, since it is so sleek that making it larger than the standard Architecture scale would not add much to what could be achieved with LEGO bricks, IMO.
  22. LEGO Minecraft is almost 10 years old??? --- I'm usually indifferent to minidolls, but I guess it would be nice for TLG to phase them out and just put minifigures in Friends sets, just to make the sets more universally cohesive with the rest of the LEGO City and City-like themes. I do love the brighter colours of the Friends sets, though, since they bring some variety to what one can include in a town.
  23. CaptainRex101 over on Brickset's article makes a good point: "The annual LEGO Ideas selection generally encompasses relatively specialised sets, including 21325 Medieval Blacksmith and 21327 Typewriter, alongside licensed products with broader appeal, such as 21326 Winnie the Pooh or 21328 Seinfeld this year. Since the three previous chosen submissions have occupied the more specialised category, something with a popular license seems probable this time. On that basis, I think The Nightmare Before Christmas, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, My LEGO Totoro, or perhaps one of The Office submissions, are most plausible." -- I'd love a single Marine Life aquarium for ~60$. I'm also enamored with the shaping of Samus' ship, so Metroid being approved would be quite the nice surprise.
  24. Huh. Indeed, they have mentioned that. I don't know if TLG makes any reveals on Fridays - I remember most of them being on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays. As much as I would love a reveal tomorrow, it would be strange to have the second-largest set of all time receive no teaser at all. Promobricks is very reliable when it comes to prices, piece counts and other set details, though they are not immune to error, particularly when it comes to announcement dates (it has been the case that a couple of announcements ended up being the following week or two). Nevertheless, fingers crossed they are correct.
  25. I wonder when the set will be revealed. Last D2C with VIP early-access was Santa's Visit, which was revealed a week before its release. As much as I hope that the VIP release of the Titanic is indeed on the 20th of October, and that it would be revealed this week, I wouldn't be surprised if we had to wait another week or two before any official information. Besides, a set this big would need a teaser as well, right?
