From the Lego Store: Nexo Knights: King's Mech Nexo Knights: Moltor's Lava Smasher Star Wars: First Order Snowspeeder microfighter Nexo Knights intro pack came free From Toys R Us: Star Wars: First Order Battle Pack A pretty good haul.

Bought the King's Mech and Moltor's Lava Smasher at the Lego Store, as well as some other sets. The promo set came free. I'm kind of disappointed how the promo set lava monster is just a combo of two regular lava monsters. They could have at least included an exclusive print. Still, not bad for a free set.

The version that comes with Jestro's Lava Base is an evil Jestro, but he's completed his transition now....

One of these two. Can't wait to see what the second batch of Lava Monsters look like. I know that we've already seen Flama and Whiparella, but I'm curious to see what Magmar looks like. I wonder if there will be six in the second wave....hopefully there are more than that.

It's just ridiculous, light-hearted banter that will go on for years between full Historic fans and those who are open to change. Nothing to worry about there. I just realized that I re-kindled the fire with part of that first sentence.......

Is there any way to find out more about those prototype Castle sets, or where to find more of them? I think that prototype sets and unreleased themes and ideas are more interesting then the sets that actually came out.

Lyichir makes good points. You should listen to what he says here. The people that dislike Nexo Knights would tell you that there's nothing of value in these sets, but as you say, the smaller ones, and other sets such as Infernox Captures the Queen and Jestro's Evil Mobile are great for Castle builders. While the good guys lean towards the Sci-Fi side, the bad guys fit right in as another Castle 2007 (You called it 2009) faction. All of the Lava monsters are useful as regular fantasy creatures, and their vehicles can be used to building terrain. There's a lot to like in this theme if you get to know it.

First of all, congrats on coming out of your dark ages. Motor is possibly the scariest Lego figure of all time. We basically already know who next year's bad guys are, and unless you're afraid of plants, you're going to be disappointed.

Having an Imp costume guy wouldn't really make sense. Imps are fairly obscure, and the other costumes are basic things, such as the Gorilla, Hot Dog, Shark, etc.
