  1. The modular body makes a lot of sense ... hasn't LEGO said that the building process of this set is simular to how the real Porsche 911 GT3 RS is build together ... Also I really think I won't assemble the stickers coming with this set, apart from the interior stickers (dashboard, ...) Does the huge sticker on the wheel arches really add anything??? It's one of those stickers to peel off after a few years, I won't risk that, I think it looks just fine without the sticker as well.
  2. I believe you can use these parts for shifting instead of the paddles??? I think it's a lot easier to handle.
  3. The only thing I can't get over is the parts used for the paddle shifters ... it looks so out of place ... why couldn't they make a simple new mould that represent real paddle shifters a lot better and would also make it easier to use I believe. This will give most of us a hard time playing with, especially after seeing the designers demonstration - the rubber bands might be broken after a few times because you need so much strength paddle shifter mould where are you???
  4. @Jim, you should really update the #1 post of this topic :)
  5. Great, absolutey great ... although I'm not happy it comes with stickers instead of printed pieces. However my question is ... how am I supposed to use the paddle shifters when I finished building this awesome car? I mean in the designer video it seems like you need a hell lot of strength to get them work, I imagine this could be a serious issue. Why didn't they make exclusive paddle shifter moulds for this??? Other than that absolutely great set and best of all ... it's not the only one to come - Welcome Ultimate Technic series
  6. Interesting idea, but seriously I got confirmation that it won't have any PF and I believe in it ... also as I said before I wouldn't like it, I prefer manual operated functions over electrical driven stuff, pneumatics, etc. for which you need tons of batteries and so on ...
  7. Not sure ... but as far as I know it doesn't have any PF at all. Also I think working lights would be of almost no benefit, if you consider you have to buy like 6 batteries for it ... makes no sense for me.
  8. Yep, not RC, no PF ... this is the Ultimate Technic build with only manual operated functions ... and I'm loving it.
  9. I expect all of this being printed, all the dashboard stuff (speedometer, ...), the little 1x1 round tile for the rims (RS print), the 1x1 round tile on the steering wheel (Porsche logo print), the licencse plates and a special printed part for the Porsche logo on the cars front. (like Lego did with the Arocs)
  10. Yes, definitely ... if you have a close look at the Nuremberg Toy Fair pictures, I believe there's already a round tile like that on the rims, but not printed obviously.
  11. Exactly, but in black with a RS print on it ... it's the same part that's used for the steering wheel also ... with the Porsche logo print on it.
  12. Yeah, that's if you buy it at a LEGO Store or at S@H ... for the rest (Toys R Us, ...) it will become available August 1. Too bad S@H offers such few payment options ... you are lost if you don't have a credit card Can't wait for the June store calendar, we should see the full Porsche on it.
  13. I expect the rims to have an RS printed round piece / same as used for the steering wheel on it which you can attach somehow and easily take off if you want to use the rims for your own MOC.
  14. I think the June store calendar should be only a few days, maybe only a few hours? away from being uploaded/found ... that's where it should get even more interesting Also does everyone agree with me when I say the steering wheel has the Porsche logo printed or is it a sticker? I'm very confident it's a print, as I said before at this price point I'd not allow stickers, hopefully Lego has chosen the same route with this Ultimate Technic set.
  15. Ye, I hate stickers too, pneumatics and electric parts ... it just doesn't work good, we have seen that often enough in the past now. Thank god it's printed pieces ... well so far at least we have confirmation that the steering wheel has a printed Porsche logo on it
  16. Printed pieces confirmed, the steering wheel has Porsche logo print on it, definitely!
  17. I believe it's the first 16+ set because this is really aimed at adults. I expect the build to be very challenging and I expect a lot of manual funcitonality - working gearbox, openable doors that can be somehow locked maybe, openable hood, fully detailed and working engine, maybe you can move the seats forward and backwards, maybe there's some sort of brake function also? and so on ... and last but not least, parents probably won't buy their kids such an expensive "toy" (in there eyes it is a toy) - but for me this is a display model and a model that should teach us new clever building technices and functions and make us happy when we see all the great stuff working in action (gearbox, etc.) As someone said above at this price point I at least expect a printed Porsche emblem (like the Arocs had a printed Mercedes emblem), even if the rest are stickers, but I hope all is printed, how annoying would it be to have stickers all around the interior/dashboard section? I would really hate it. I expect the piece count to be around the one from the Arocs ... I'm still shocked how great this looks, I mean just compare it to previous "super-cars" from Lego, this is an incredible achievement and I can't wait to see it in finalized color, etc. very soon.
  18. Then again it's also the first Technic +16 set? and the first to have a premium, special packaging ... so I really hope for printed panels/pieces, however you name it.
  19. One thing I'm really hoping for is that the Porsche does NOT use any stickers, it should be all printed pieces ... I mean at this price point we can expect that. Yeah I know MOCers might be against printed pieces but I'm sure the new parts won't have any stickers ... therefore no special prints and then all is fine. I just mean the Porsche logo HAS to be a printed part, and all the other stuff as well.
  20. My LEGO budget for 2016 is already at full capacity with 10252 Volkswagen Beetle (€ 90), 10253 Big Ben (€ ~300) and 42056 Porsche 911 GT3 RS (€ 300). So those three sets are the only ones that are on my to-buy list for 2016 - I believe Big Ben could slide into 2017 budget if it doesn't blow me away.
