  1. I don't think they were really a part of any tribe, since they lived in their castle Forge in a multi-tribal city (at least I'm guessing it is) and not any region. My theory is the tribes in Okoto are defined by bloodlines orginating from the first protecters. Mata Nui is the mask maker's father
  2. No one metioned that the Okoto page had been updated to include the ancient city, so just thought I'd bring that out. Most intrestingly when you get to the page about the Forge it gives this intresting bit:
  3. Forgot about that, thanks for the correction.
  4. Just saw slicer's video, guess it confirms that the skull masks are indeed masks instead of faces. It's Bat-Pohatu and his sidekick Robin-Lewa vs The Joke Slicer!
  5. Well look at all this lovely story information! I was skeptical of the 4chan rumors, but reading that Ekimu gets a stronger body pretty much confirms spooky specters next year for me. (Call the Ghoustbusters!) Nice to see that we finally have an alphabet, now all we need is some chicken-scratch to decode.
  6. It's not Bionicle if you don't have names that you can't pronounce. Im glad that the sets only say "Protector of _____" because if those names were on the box, a few translators and language proffessors might've died. also, don't forget BINGZAK, the character who we know nothing about!
  7. *drools* That was unexpected, but that mask looks fantastic. I hope lego will eventually release mask packs so I won't have to pay through the nose for glorious colors.
  8. I LOVE this idea a lot more than I should. Could you imagine it though? Toa exploring the ocean, searching small islands for treasure, facing sea monsters, or pirates, or both! (I need to make a Bionicle version of Davy Jones now) Ehh, as an owner of a few playsets (piraka outpost, some barraki thing) They were just "ok" lego sets in their own right. But if they returned I would buy them just for the mini toa and the AWESOME weapons. Like seriously those playset weapons are some the best minifig gear I've ever seen. Just LOOK at this hammer: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=55237j Glorious
  9. I was reading some of the set descriptions when I came across this; "Rip off their masks with the hook blade and channel their elemental power to awaken more of the Skull Warrior’s undead comrades!" So now this implies that elemental energy is stuff that keeps these guys going, or that it at least awakens them. So remember kids, if you want to raise people from the grave you gotta either have an elemental mask of power, create them using the Mask of Creation, or have a magic skull spider mask.
  10. Huh,those 15 extra seconds make such a difference. Completely 180d my opinion on the commercial. That CGI though... Mmmm hmmm, good stuff right there
  11. He probably shouldve sticked with grinder. XD
  12. I agree about Slicer. Gonna have to steal the mecha idea :). I for one really like the chest prints, great MOCing potential there. Speaking of parts, the Bionicle facebook page uploaded some concept art for the wing/fin part: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1609090712665339&substory_index=0&id=1472651449642600 Edit: Someone on Tumblr got a magazine scan featuring the skull villians! (well two of them) http://captainwhitechocolate.tumblr.com/post/122886582756/red-alert-skull-grinder-has-a-name-and-two-skull Its revealed Grinders name is Kulta. Personally hoping for Teridax but hey, hes got a name. Apparently Kulta wants to destroy all masks of power plus his staff can drain their power as well, must be what his minions do also!
  13. Generic commercial is generic. Not big suprise. Also I guess we know Grinder used the MoC to bring ol' scorpy to life rather than just glueing some bones together.
  14. Wow! Congrats for winning! Love the simple, yet effective design for the platform. Thanks for putting up how to build it.
  15. I'm torn about the split threads idea. On one hand it would be great and easy to discuss the toys and their story roles/media seperatly, but on the other hand those two things often go hand in hand. Lets say some new content gets released; a Bionicle video game or something. So discussion for the game is in the media thread. In said game there is a teaser for next year's stuff (like what they did with the Bohrok in MNOG) so now the toy thread doesn't know about this until someone brings it up, but by then both threads are probably now talking about the same thing; next year's stuff. On the contrary, maybe people in the media thread want to talk about game mechanics while the toy thread wants to talk about the teaser. So is a division really necessary? Probably not right now, but maybe later.
  16. (Ok first off I'm terrible with naming characters, these guys sound like pokemon! ) Anyway this is a project I've wanted to do for a while, but because of exams I couldn't even start on it until yesterday! Essentially I wanted to make a toa of magnetism, but then one of my friends suggested I make 2 of them to account for the opposite poles. And so Charpai and Toraros were born! Charpai controls the attraction forces of magnetism and Toraros controls the repulsion. But then I had the idea of taking these guys a step further by giving them a new form... Polarus! A shot showing the two components, and how they are connected Tahu for size... Thanks for looking . Does Polarus stack up? Comments and Criticisms welcome!
  17. I must say im much more intrested in the summer sets now. Really glad to hear about the return of combi-models, and now even scorpion dont look to bad. But that tibit of slicer being resurrected by the Skull Spider (gold or regular?) is VERY intresting. Bring on the summer! My name is Slicer, I will cut through my enemies. It is my destiny to claim my golden mask of power, and become, the master...OF BLENDING!!!!
  18. Very nice. I don't have much to say on how this can be better, but I notice you haven't given old grinder here his tri-axe thing. Any chance of seeing it?
  19. Honestly I was just wanted to use the no vader pic :3
  20. The shells are PRINTED!?
  21. Once again the prototype mask outshines the finished product. I hope someone makes a 3d print of that double visored one It really bothers me that all these guys do is talk about the mask. I acknowledge the mask is an important part of the character but I'm more intrested of the steps and ideas behind the figure. These videos feel like a wasted opportunity.
  22. Im kind of more intrested to see what lego does after this wave. Will they make some SW7 figures or some characters from the original 6? I know a lot of people are excited for jango for the possibility of sand blue, but can you imagine an episode 2 (sand blue) super battle droid! Its unlikely but still amazing.
  23. Hm. Definatley gonna find some uses for those new leg shells and that new addon. It's that chest piece that really bothers me, Its just too big. I hope someone can come up with a use for it
