  1. Wow! It's great to see that next year will have plenty of reading material.
  2. Yes, depending on its orinatation it will fill certain connection points, but never all. The PoU is basically the backbone of the upper torso.
  3. So I decided to try and do Umarak's torso with this new info. Tried to recreate the leak pose, the angle here is off. I couldn't take a good picture of the leak poses as I had one hand holding the camera and model in the other so I can't really show you what it looks like. Anyway, I found that the shoulder placement matches the pictures exactly. I don't know why his arms are like that but I'm definitely modding them. Just noticed this, the a ball connection beam piece should be right below that silver piece. It must have stayed attached to the ribcage when I pulled it off. I left the back open because the new technic shell is so unique it fits here perfectly like no other piece. Plus I have no idea what the backs look like. But the head has to be attached to something, so that red piece is a poor substitute. I won't be able to add/fix this build until next week, see you then! Please tell me what you think I should change so I can work on it right when I get back.
  4. -50 Reliability. Just kidding. I dig them. Love the new cloak pieces and gear functions. The head sculpts are awkward as expected, but they could've been worse. Other than her majestic black and red cloak you mean.
  5. Cool stuff. Which thread was that from?
  6. Sorry then! My bad, I thought that was new information.
  7. As far as the Creature heads go, I like them. The fact that they share the same face mold creates a uniformity/team look like the protectors. The extra connection points are also a smart way of making the heads look slightly different from one another. My only complaint would be the the colors, why metallic? It only works with half the Toa.
  8. This belongs here the most I suppose. Graphic Novel #2 will be available on February 23, 2016. I'm glad this one gets a release date early into the year.
  9. Third-party parts are always an option, especially in the minifigure department. However I understand that's not really an option if you're a purist.
  10. The best scenario I can think of for connecting G1 to G2 would be to pull a Star Trek, having someone from G1/G2 travel back in time to change everything. We have means in the form of the Mask of Time. I think the best example for what I'm talking about is the Flashpoint Paradox. In said comic/movie the Flash travels back in time to save his mother. By breaking the Time Barrier he creates ripples through time, much like breaking the Sound barrier creates a sonic boom. The ripples and fractures of time alter all of history. If this was how the G1 or G2 universe came to being it would mean that the universes are one, but not the same.
  11. Alright, time to give my thoughts on the Toa. I've ranked them from least liked to most. 6. Gali: As others have mentioned before the asymmetry doesn't really work. I could pass it if it was just the shoulder, but the left thigh is inexcusable. The orange in my opinion is a better accent to the blue than yellow so I'm happy in that regard. As for the weapon, its pretty cool even though it's a little generic. Nitpicking/improvements: -If they wanted to keep the asymmetrical thigh It could have been excuseable if it was a weapon holster or positioned like a skirt. -Adding the 2015 wing/turbine piece to the back of the legs or the feet would have made the legs less generic. 6. Pohatu: The observant of you may have noticed I did not put Pohatu as number 5. It's not a mistake, it's because he and Gali are so evenly matched I cannot place one above the other. He looks more cohesive than Gali, but also more generic. The new brown looks nice with the reddish brown, but sadly there's not really a lot of it. His weapon is the most generic out of all the Toa, which is a huge downside. The loss of his asymmetry is probably the biggest complaint I have. Nitpicking/improvements: -Asymmetry in the arms. Increase his wastelander vibe. -Better distribute his colors. (ex. Replace the Trans-green shells on his arms) -Inprove the weapon so it is less generic. (ex. A twin boulder mace.) 4. Lewa: His weapons are the best of the smaller Toa. My guess is they are some kind of propeller blades, which fits for his flying character. His color scheme is a little lacking, with the the only accents being the lime on the chest. The mask is one of the best of the wave. I appreciate the custom legs, which was genius in its simplicity. Nitpicking/improvements: -Find a better way to attach the blades. Perhaps add a spinning mechanism to the hands or arms so you can hold the blades securely, or put them on the mechanism to turn them like propellers. -Add more lime or bring back the Keetorange. The color scheme desperately needs more accent. -Place the shoulders a little higher up like his predecessor. 3. Kopaka: Not really much to say. His sword is cool, but the sheild/gun is a little lacking. The inclusion of Metru Blue is nice as it gives him a different accent color than Gali. Custom arm build? Yes please. I like how the mask scope actually allows a stud to be placed there. In the future I hope the masks get more customizable like the SS mask and Kopaka's mask. Nitpicking/improvements: -Cover the back of the lower legs like his predecessor. -Gold or silver? The debate will continue. -Make the sheild larger or more sheild-like. 2.Onua: Wide bulk, amazing weapon, and glorious trans-purple. Onua does a lot of things right. The only real complaint I have would be the gaps in his shoulders and his mask, but I'm sure later pictures will display him better. Nitpicking/improvements: -Fix the gaps in his shoulders. -Improve the feet. 1.Tahu: The golden boy himself. The weapon function looks fun and the fact that the swords connects together is pretty cool. Color wise, Tahu has just a *little* too much gold. Only about two shells too much. I like the blue accents on him as they balance his eyes and gives the impression of hot blue flame. The trans red bones? Fantastic. Tahu is also a tad too tall, especially in the thigh area. His thighs are unnecessary long and the armor doesn't cover it well enough. Nitpicking/improvements: -Add some more red to his color scheme. -Either decrease the thigh length or cover it up better. Combining Concept/Creatures: I like it. It's certainly the best combination concept we've gotten so far. However I feel that some of these sets flaws stem from making room for the creatures. Nitpicking/improvements: -Fill out the Toa's backs a bit more. They all look a little flat. -Instead of making the creature heads Gold or Silver, they should have been their respective elemental colors like the protector masks. This is more of an issue with the smaller Toa, whose silver and gold will undoubtedly clash.
  12. Huh, turns out I was actually right. Tahu's Skull addons do attach to his shoulders. http://board.ttvpodcast.com/uploads/db5640/original/3X/d/2/d26fbe92acb60d1fabcfad141748f03a6561f090.jpg (Revealed by Lord_of_Flatulence on TTV) I gotta say this is a pretty sweet poster. Notice the island on Makuta's forehead.
  13. I'm not too sure of it myself. The piece just seems to suddenly fade to black. I'm only guessing it's the Skull Addon by the shape of the silhouette.
  14. Looking at Onua's midsection/crotch area I'm pretty positive his chest is still gold. Shame. As for Tahu the gold Skull Cloth addon is instead attached to the Tnr Orange shells on his shoulders. It's a little difficult to see the piece as half of it is obscured by dark lighting, the easiest way to see it is to look for the shape and not the colors. At first I thought the black was a part of Ikir's wing construction, but it actually covers part of the flame piece.
  15. Weird. Judging by the simple text of "Chapter book 3" I'm guessing that is just a placeholder cover. Why LOSS would appear is beyond me, if anything I would expect him to be on the cover of ROSS.
  16. Maybe not "died", perhaps he just transferred his consciousness onto the digital plain. I would love to see a Merlock fig eventually. He's probably one of the best wizard designs I've seen.
  17. I'm wondering if Merlock was an actual wizard at one point. If the original Merlock is still out there, what would happen if he returned? What if he had turned evil? What if Merlock 2.0 became corrupted. I'd love to see Merlock vs Merlock 2.0.
  18. That's a big overstatement. Lego is simply taking down the small HQ images on their cache. They're everywhere now at this point. The only downside is that we probably won't get any new pictures until an official release. Edit: CM4Sci beat me to it.
  19. Maybe. Not sure how I'd feel about that. I like dragons as much as the next guy, but I feel there's been a little too many dragons lately. If they chose to go that route I'm sure it could work, dragons are bound to show up in a Castle-esque theme eventually. I hope we get Dwarves later down the line. I've always had a soft spot for Dwarves.
  20. The issue is that they wanted a historic castle theme. Since Nexo is obviously not that they feel it's unlikely that Lego will release a historical theme. I actually think that it's more likely as Nexo won't be competing with it.
  21. No, think more like Minifig equipment packs. From the "Way to Battle" trailer you can see both Clay's (twin propellers attached to the back) and Lance's (A cross between wings and shoulder shields) Ultimate forms. Speaking of the Ultimates, I wonder if they will be displayed soon?
  22. Have you even been here a couple pages back? The majority of Classic Castle has already expressed their distaste for this theme multiple times. I think the thread movement is an explanation in itself. A fully trans figure would be amazing, but even a partial trans would look great. My only fear would be if his color is changed from the yellowish orange shown on the promotions to the reddish orange shown on the Nexo Knights.
  23. Hmmm, after looking at Clay's blade cruiser and the Comic Con trailer (0:40) I think the two front wheel detach into two smaller vehicles driven by the robots. This makes Clay's vehicle thinner and explains that third wheel in the front. I might actually get it after all, depends on how good that mode looks.
  24. Just some thoughts and first impressions: Animation Like other Lego shows, the only things that actually look like Lego are the mini-figs. I can understand landscaping but there's no real excuse to not make the vehicles and small structures out of bricks (Except the Fortex, but we'll get to that later). The daytime landscape is alright, but the star of the show is easily the nighttime scenes. There the Tron-esque lighting really shows its style. Personally I think that when Jestro attacks a dark purple cloud should be there just to make the lighting darker. Fights in broad daylight really seem goofy. Anyway, this is pretty solid animation. Characters Stereotypical, but they have potential. It'll be a shame if they don't develop these characters. All of them have very strong personality traits, so it'll be interesting to see how they work off each other. Jestro looks like the best of them all. He just hits that perfect balance of being both humorous and creepy. The lava monsters are goofy like most Lego villains. I suspect this is because these guys look straight up demonic. I'm a little disappointed in the lava orbs, but the golems and even the minions look great. However I can't help but notice the monsters don't actually set fire to anything in the trailers. If nobody else, the lava orbs could definitely be improved if they had a tail of fire. They look ridiculous in broad light, but probably menacing in the dark. Making their attacks covered in shadow would be better. Voice Acting Phenomenal. From the few lines heard each and every character (I need to hear more of the book before deciding on it.) has a fantastic voice. Let's hope the writing can live up to the talent. Concepts The Fortex is clearly intended to be the knight's base of operations . It also is portrayed larger than the set probably to contain both the vehicles and living spaces of the knights. From what I've seen I'm guessing it is both the knight's armory and motor home. Since it partially isolates the knight's from the outside world hopefully it will lead to some good (and humorous) character interactions. The only thing I can't understand is how available technology is. Aside from the knights nobody else really appears futuristic. This is most apparent in Lance's character video. In said video, two Knights fight for the affections of a princesses. Nothing even suggests the world takes place in a futuristic society until Lance shows up near the end of the video. Needless to say the Knights just look out of place. If you're going to go sci-fi, go all out. I see no reason why a regular bow and arrow should exist in the same world as laser crossbows. The upgrade concept could either be handled very well or very poorly. I fear that it will be used as a constant MacGuffin. Hopefully they use it sparingly and creatively. Final Thoughts All in all this series has potential. At this point it can just go either way. It could turn out good, or another Chima. I'll be interested to see how it turns out.
  25. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought the book sounded like a Yorker! I hope they don't go too over the top with it. I'm also wondering how the Library will look with the possibility Merlock is an A.I. System.
