  1. Questions: 1) Will one have to build a MOC for these ships after buying the license? 2) If I already have 3 ships and I get a ship via auction for 100 DBs: How much will I have to pay?
  2. Fantastic mansion. You really had a tough task making the mansion look more noble than Capt Wolfs barn, but you definitely nailed it! Great job.
  3. Stunningly beautfiul. And hmm, while the Fontonajo family is quite happy that someone acts against those Mardierian privateers, they are not quite convinced open war is the answer right now.
  4. Dear Ibn al'Sayeed, unfortunately I have to inform you that my people did not manage to set up the granite quarry in time. I am afraid that our business will not be able to earn us profit next month. Of course the Fontonajo family will compensate your losses by passing up on the first monthly income after construction has been finished. My kindest apologies Juan Alfonso Fontonajo
  5. The must be the most beautiful barn I have ever seen. Might have been the mainhouse with some minor adaptions as well. Really love your build. Also the small details like the cart or the drunk guy are cool.
  6. You are so incredibly, amazingly good at those caribbean jungle scenes - just perfect!
  7. Your irrigation canals are so cleanly done, really like that the water keeps getting slower to the end of our plantation. Also those small planks above the water are definitely a great addition, well done! But the farm part is absolutely great, I love those small houses for the pigs and chicken, the soild beneath the animals is great, as are the trees and carrots and so on - love it!
  8. Just talking about the economic game system ships definitely offer the highest rewards, but also bring along risk. Building in an existing colony is the way to earn some steady and safe money. Freebuilds, story etc. almost do not help you at all in the economic aspect of the game, but of course add a lot of value to the game. A good way inbetween can be the challenges: Lots of story, but also high monetary rewards. The current challenge for the fountain of youth has been extended to the 10th of July. But most importantly, really, just MOC what you want to the most, what is fun for you, whatever motivates you. Enjoy the game. :-) About founding your own settlement: Noone can forbid you to just start a settlement somewhere in the world. However to get this officially recognised you need your queen. Squatter settlements are what Sea Rats do, all others are members of real nations for a reason. I can really recommend you to start building in an existing settlement that you like the most of them. I for one wanted to start my own when I joined the game as well, but kabel convinced me into building in an existing one. Today I am glad that I have contributed a lot to Nova Terreli. I still have the chance to start my own city whenever I want it. And by the way welcome, nice sigfig intro!
  9. It's harvesting season in Bardo on An Toli. Eager workers are doing their business and collect the cotton. Which is then transported to the manufacturing facilities. Especially to those of MCTC itself, like the huge one in Weelond. Will this ball of cotton become a shirt? Or a pair of trousers? Who knows, who knows... Lady Estrella and her niece Clara enjoy the flowers in the garden. Estrella once demanded that small garden, to have some deviation from the ever-white cotton fields. Clara however is always keen on learning new details. "How is that flower called?", "Why does cotton not grow on trees like apples?", "How did MCTC become so rich", "Why don't we build ships that can fly like birds?". Lady Estrella smiled and just thought to herself "you silly little girl". This poor guy is running away in pure horror. He must have seen something incredibly terrifying. Or from someone... Does he have an upaid debt? Or has committed some minor crime? Or maybe he has done nothing wrong at all, like others before him? Who knows, but fleeing seems an appropriate response anyway. The fields are in full growth, the cotton is ready. Believe it or not, Bardo is not only known for its Musicians, but also for its huge cotton plantations.
  10. Absolutely ingenious lantern design! I like the building as well, the whole upper part with the roof design is quite cool, though I have to agree it doesn't look like a slum to me at all.
  11. Thank you. The interior is my favourite part as well. Thanks, I really had to do some tricks due to lack of especially flat sand green bricks, but I managed to build the deposits in some way. Glad you like them. I really had exactly one 1x1 sand green brick left at the end of the MOC. Maybe there are two or three flying around in some box they don't belong in, but that was really close. Glad you like it, especially the golden roof in the middle. That was really just some kind of "emergency" plan ("what should I put on that roof?"), but I like the result as well. Great to hear, I am glad you like all the little details and ornaments. Also great to hear that a Caribbean vibe gets transported through the MOC! :-) The black was actually added quite late in the process. Thanks for the compliments on the floors and pillars. I really just had to use those round golden bricks I recently acquired for the pillars. Thank you, as I stated above, the interior is definitely my favourite as well. I wondered about that as well, but hey, here we go! Who else than an Eslandolan should open the first bank, right? Btw. thanks a lot for the idea for the corner design, which I 100% stole from your great white-yellow creation. I guess Alberto at least did some consulting for the architects of the bank in Nellisa. Thanks, I am so glad my gf kind of forced me into changing the roof, which was initially a dark red roof with a point in the centre (not with a gable like now) consisting of classic roof elements. As I didn't have dark red for the corners I took red. It didnt even look crappy, but it absolutely did not fit the rest of the MOC at all. Really happy I changed it.
  12. Some fantastic techniques: The wall of the lighthouse, the rocks, and especially the wooden pier look absolutely fantastic. Great entry! Your photography still has room for improvement, however it has already become a lot better if you ask me.
  13. That's quite a fantastic jungle MOC. Both because of its fantastic execution and its fantasy flair which I like a lot.
  14. Why not? This is, if Román gets his replacement warship in time.
  15. Great concept, superb execution!
  16. I claim another 2 contribution points. The Bank of Nellisa
  17. Even for Román Esteban Fontonajo some days are still special. This is one of these days. Opening the "Bank of Nellisa" in Nova Terreli, as the central point for all commercial activities on the island, puts a smile on the Eslandolan's face. Shipbuilders, adventurers, merchants, captains, even smugglers or pirates - they all need some money from time to time, and they all want to deposit some for worse times. Today a well known admiral of a small trade fleet is coming with two of his man, bearing a chest so full of gold, that it didn't even all fit in. The Fontonajos have appointed Helios Caraja as the director of their bankhouse in Nova Terreli. He has stored a lot of files in his office already, waiting eagerly for the first customers. Money is the only currency he knows, and that's all the Fontonajos need for their bank director. There are two counters. Because not everyone will get to talk to the director. Juan Alfonso has just closed the big safe where most of the gold is deposited. Little does he know that the first burglar is already inspecting the outside of the bankhouse. A glimpse into the director's office never hurts: The Bank of Nellisa in Nova Terreli - your place to deposit money!
  18. I really like the MOC. The wagon looks quite amazing, and I like the rest as well. Two (very) small suggestions though: * While I like innovative part usage (in this case: barrels for the palm tree), I think you should limit parts to one usage per MOC. You use barrels as both palm tree trunk as well as, well, barrels. Which I perceive as a little odd. * I think it's quite amazing how in sync your plants look, and I think that's great for a field. However I'd suggest to have at least every tenth plant vary slightly, and also maybe not have them in a 90° angle from the road directly pointing towards the corner of the baseplate, but maybe turn them all by like 20-30°. Small things only, still like your MOC a lot!
  19. Great write-up, I wouldn't mind to have you do this next month again. Great to see others taking some work from Ska's shoulders, and you did a great job. Results are somewhat mixed for me...
  20. What a fantastic creation, I love the multiple layers, the difference between water and the bottom of the ship is awesome, as is the whole MOC. Amazing job.
  21. That's a cool idea. Looking forward to the finished MOC!
  22. Thank you, trying around with new roof techniques is fun. Thank you, I am curious to see if there are other ways to get the half-stud offset done. Skillsystem, where are you?! Thanks! Thank you, feel free to copy it, or even better to improve it. I think BoBS has developed some great roof techniques over multiple MOCs of various people. Entrepreneur sounds like a great idea for the skill system. Ska? Thank you for the compliments! Thank you, I like it too. Ingenious, I would like that in my skill tree as well. :-) Thank you. I have to admit though that photography wasn't even the initial idea (it was rather: "how can I manage this half-stud offset?"), but it turned out to be immensely useful. Thank you, that's a lot of compliments! Glad you like it. :-) I have to admit, though, that I just took the lanterns from my Royal Factory (although maybe most people probably didn't even see them there...).
  23. This is a really nice MOC and definitely deserves some more comments. I like those pillars a lot, and the desk with that Nexo Knights (?) element looks really mystical, great job. Will you use this MOC to contribute to Nova Terreli becoming a Large Town?
