LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
joebiwankenobi replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Well, this is a little bit of a shock, eh? I mean disney got the rights to the starwars franchise and then price increase. Now that they have had it another year? Price increase. To be honest, I'm not that surprised. You can blame lego all you want, but my money is on disney calling the shots on pricing. They're literally pricing it based off the figures in it. Ok, the set with the two main characters that sell in $100 + be sold in a $40 set? Wait, no. That's not right. Hold on a minute. Let me cross out the 4 put a 6. There we go. That's more like it. Profit! $$$! And for anyone willing to rebuttal what I'm saying, think about it. As if Force Friday wasn't an indication of the things to come. I'm expecting it to get worse down the road. Time for disney to milk the golden cash cow while it's still kicking. I'm in CA right now for school, and went to the disney store once. I'm not going back, either. They were charging $140 for Kylo's shuttle when I could drive literally 5 min to a target and get it for 100 flat. Disney is notoriously expensive when it comes to any of their "owned" franchises. I don't hate Disney, but I'm warning that it can get worse down the road. -

You know after watching that part of the live stream I have a theory why his arm is red. Anthony said the movie will explain it but maybe it's a nod to episode IV. Maybe, C3P0 didn't let the wookie win? Let's see how wrong my guess is come Thursday night. I've got tickets. -

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors

Along with updated minifies, they could also provide the exterior surface of the death star this time. It could open up to reveal the rooms and such. -

The only flaw is that the only way you can "blow it up" is by pushing it off the table. They better include some explosives with this rendition... -

Welp, time for me to eat crow. I didn't believe we were getting another one,and my opinion has now changed. It's going to be an interesting and expensive year with the possibility of a revised Death Star and Echo base... Shark, I'm also a fan of the black hands and crotch pieces on the OT stormtroopers. The all white FO troops seem a little too "blank canvas", but I can get over it. At least, it's another point to differentiate them from their OT predecessors. -

After mulling over the FO battle pack, I actually like it. Although some people are mad they included only one stormtrooper, I think I understand why they did that. We are getting three films, and like the OT, I doubt the stormtroopers are going to go through armor phases like in the PT. Therefore, I doubt it would be a stretch to say we'll be getting a great number of them in the upcoming years due to their presence in the following films. We're getting two more in the Battle for Takodana, and surely more in sets to come. The heavy gunner truly isn't a bad figure, either. Technically, he's a stormtrooper armed with a space MG34/42. What's there not to love? He's pretty accurate to the images from the film. -

I was just noticed 2/3 OT sets we are getting for January are from Episode V: the carbon freezing chamber and the hoth trench. If they are making an emphasis on sets from Empire for the OT we might then get a tie bomber in the summer wave. It's not needed; it's justified at this point. Its going on 13 years at this point without rerelease, and if we aren't getting cloud city in some form, I bet we're getting tie bomber. -
Exactly.

Yeah, that one. It could be done on a smaller scale like the phantom I suppose. I doubt they would rerelease that considering it's retiring currently or soon will be. -

There really haven't been any vehicles introduced in the rebels series other than the A wing predecessor that I think lego would want to produce currently. There's the first generation AT AT, AT TE mobile home, star tours esque flying bus, and the bounty hunter ship. However all of those sets would probably be in the $60 - $100. With Force Awakens material yet to be seen, OT, PT, and Rogue One on the horizon I'm assuming we'll get an A-wing and possibly a yet to be seen inquisitor ship from season 2? -
WOW. I've never noticed this either and had the same assumption that it was made up. You can tell that they drew inspiration from the WWII halftracks in it's design and I like how you incorporated the fold down sides to allow the cannons to traverse! Reminds me of the German vehicles.

Hehe, I like it! Very unique idea. You should add some snow speeder pilots trying to chop it down the legs with some axes or maybe Luke having a go at it with a lightsaber.

Yes it is LOL. I just noticed the carbon freezing chamber allows for the stairs to be folded up. Could this be for storage purposes or something else? -

Is anyone assuming we are getting a cloud city set in the nature of Jabba's palace a few years ago? I find it interesting that the carbonate freezing chamber has an odd open end to the right of the set that serves no purpose. It reminds me of the rancor pit and how it had the odd features on the top with the pyramidal builds. No one knew what they were to interlock into Jabba's Palace which released that summer. Is a similar thing happening where the carbon freezing chamber is hinting at a cloud city release in summer 2016? We shall see... Does one of the stormtroopers from the Takodana set have that anti saber staff thing? At least I think that is what they're trying to represent. -
[MOC] The Moldy Crow 2015 with Custom Minifigs
joebiwankenobi replied to Suboken Brick Project's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I was just playing Dark Forces II yesterday! This is one of my favorite mocs of the Year. All the details you worked into the model are absolutely stunning. I like the turret and the engine details. The tapering to the front cockpit with the windows is dead on too, not to mention the details you got in the cockpit! Functioning retracts!- 19 replies

Alright, officially done minus the laser cannon tips. Everything is done in LDD inside and out. There is some stuff that LDD is a little glitchy with and won't let me put some connections in that I have tried and work in real life. however, all that is here checks out for stability and all I need to do is order the parts. The canopy piece and some printed parts for the inside of the canopy will be used so the tiles there are just placeholders for the moment. I finally got the landing gear to sit stable with the offset engine thrusters, too. The nose gear got bumped forward as well. The service hatch that Luke gets his lightsaber and rebel military gear out of in The Empire Strikes Back. Profile View. Cockpit pic 1. (Build complete; details not) Cockpit pic 2.

[MOD] Wing and landing gear for Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle

Nice spot! I didn't notice that. -
Hi Khatmorg! Thanks for the compliment and comments. I've reworked the engines already and I know if I go any farther it will affect the wing stability. It's also a little difficult for me to know exactly how it will handle in LDD rather than bricks so once I get it done "in the flesh" I'll consider going further getting the wings/ engine alignment right. The build i used to get the engines as they are is pretty complex and I don't know how I can get the engines lower a stud without having to start over from the ground up. I personally prefer having the large slopped wedges over plate built sides. I started off with stacked plates on page 1, and felt I didn't achieve the "hexagonal" tapering shape of the fuselage with plates and decided going with the huge wedges. Having just looked at the photos, I just realized I need to work on the lazer tips, too.

Lock S Foils in attack postion! The only thing left to do now is order the parts!
-
Not much of an update but thinned the wings out and lowered the engines.

Wow! I asked and you delivered! It looks great. I don't know what the canopy color is on the regular First Order Tie but I love it in black! Nice Tie Squad too.

That single stormtrooper is screwed going up against the falcon by himself.

The baby phantom is cute. Welp, I never thought I would describe something as "cute" on the forum...
