Huh, as excited as I am that we are getting a new X-wing, I've got some serious reservations about it. It's great that they're finally modeling the correct sized engines and have the astromech in the correct seating position, but it just seems a little chubby around the astromech port. Also, I find it odd that they copied the same construction from the recent T70s for the laser canons as well as the forward fuselage. There's a lot of excellent new parts that have come out in the last few years that could achieve better shaping for the nose and fuselage and I find it somewhat strange that the designer didn't use them. I'm curious to see more of it at Toyfair and better assess it in hand when I buy one, or two, or more haha. The new sand crawler is pretty great. Ironically I was looking for a UCS one last week. Now the battle pack makes sense with the Jawas. The 501st construction figure with AT RT is really a neat inclusion. I didn't see that coming. What's the expected price on that? I'm thinking $80-100 USD? Also, are the sets coming out in August? That's what the catalogue states, but I remember last years summer wave came out around May - June in the US. -

Yes, thank you very much gentlemen @Milan and @Stash2Sixx. You don't hear as much praise as you mods deserve for your work. Thanks again for resolving the problem as soon as you were able! -
I love the candle on the fireplace mantel. Such a great use of parts!

Thanks for the great pics of the cantina! Are those new hinge pieces connecting the rooms in the cantina set? I haven't seen those pieces before. -

I'm hoping the best for everyone in their attempt to get the set within the next couple of days! Stay positive and remember if you don't get one on release day, you'll have many opportunities to get the set during its shelf life. Wish I could go and see the wheel cart box in person. Biggest set they have ever made, and I'm more interested in the box. Help me. If anyone attends the launch events, would it be appropriate to post pics here? I think I'm not the only one who'd like to see photos. Also, let us know if you're successful. Best of luck people! Concerning the exclusive VIP card what exactly does LEGO imply with this statement: "You'll be entitled to Star Wars themed offers, gift with purchases, and more." Does anyone know what entitled Star Wars themed offers a cardholder would be entitled to, that say a normal VIP member would not? Also, is the gift with purchase just VIP points? This statement is incredibly confusing to me. I'm currently a VIP member, as I'm sure everyone on here is, but it sounds like only holders of the exclusive falcon card get certain promotions going forward. Is there any more news or clarification about this statement? -
After looking at the second trailer rebel's last season, we definitely need a tie bomber now considering this is the 2nd year in a row it has popped up. There's x wings in the series now so who knows? Maybe we might get an OT x wing from rebels although I doubt it. It'd at least be a somewhat reasonable excuse to do an x wing again and we could get some new pilots to boot. The tie defender is back so that's definitely up there for them to do as well. There's a new AT DP looking walker with a disintegration beam on it that could be a set as well. That's about all I saw from the trailer that could warrant a set. However, with TLJ and the Han Solo movie coming out in the Spring, I think Lego has completely abandoned ship as far as rebels is concerned. Kind of a shame really, as they could have made some great sets from the later seasons. We're getting too many movies and series anymore for all vehicles to be covered. I hope we'll get callbacks like you suggest because we need some of these ships as sets. I'm still holding out for cloud city. I know many people believe it's not likely that a modern rendition of the playset could make a comeback, especially with he carbon freezing chamber being it's own kit, but I'm going to hold out hope. They had the final duel kit out the same time the death star playset was out, and they had the hoth attack set out at the same time as the assault on hoth playset. They could include a twin pod cloud car and add a couple of rooms like the one where 3PO gets busted and the entryway rotunda where luke runs into boba, in addition to what the original set had--just updated and more detailed--for around $300? They could include R2, Luke, Vader, 2 stormtroopers, 2 cloud city guards, Lobot, Wilrow hood, 2 ugnaughts, Han, Chewie, Leia, Lando, Cloud car pilot, some cloud city citizens too?

[PRESS RELEASE] 75192 - UCS Millennium Falcon 2017

I haven't bought a lego set in 3 years now, and was hoping this would meet my expectations. They actually surpassed what I expected with an interior. To counter Han's statement this model really looks like much and definitely has it where it counts. I've finally got a more than reasonable excuse to get out of the lego famine. It's going feel good to back. Also, I'm dying at the limit five per customer -

Sets look great! That bomber is like the space equivalent of a B17! Does anyone find it odd that the resistance Bombardier has an OT rebel pilot helmet rather than the new ones from the force awakens? Also, I find the serrated front legs on the new walker humorous. Seems the empire finally figured out how to "snip" the tow cable issue that the snow speeders presented. I can't wait to see what else is coming! -
@drakmin I can't wait to see this completed and hear the final piece count. After you're snow speeder model, I expected this amount precision and functionality. You deliver some truly beautiful builds. Terrific work and congrats on your degree!

LEGO Star Wars 2017 Pictures and Rumors
joebiwankenobi replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Both reasons. I doubt there will be major improvements to the model. It's probably just going to get a 'face-lift' with some of the newer parts that have been released since the original came out in 2007 much like the death star and its rerelease received. I'm curious as to what the other "stuff" is that has yet to leak. In short, I'm looking forward to the next relevant batch of confirmed news. -

I agree with Josh on this; For all we know, the set names could simply be placeholders concealing what the actual sets will be. Remember the yoda's hut set that ended up being his straighter from the Clone Wars. Nothing is set in stone. -

The old cockpit mold is fine for the Y-Wing; the only thing they need to do is update the print in the fashion of the old UCS Y Wing and it'd work perfectly. Hopefully, they'll do that considering they gave the original phantom a unique cockpit print. If not, I doubt they'll ever make a unique Y Wing cockpit mold or print. -

Some orthodontists and dentists give out gift cards for perfect routine checkups. Everytime you come in and have a perfect check up you get $5 or $10 increments on a gift card. I would know. My Dad's a dentist haha -

Now that you pointed that out Brickdoctor and I took a look at your avatar pic, I agree with you. A 2D print of 3D field gear piece on that surface does make it look a bit odd. Either way it's amazing to see how far the license has come since the late 90s. I remember reading back on the board here in '07 when people were skeptical whether they'd ever go the lengths of detail in the figures we're seeing today. -

I'm impressed that they printed the AT-ST driver's goggles on his helmet. That's some outstanding detail! Pretty neat too, now that we have a face print with the goggles on from the old AT St and a helmet with the goggles in the "up" position wrapped around the helmet in the new one. That makes some nice variations for figures. -

So according to SVL's info we're getting three additional Rogue One sets come January at 39.99, 59.99, and 69.99? Great news! The price points have me a little concerned and excited though. I'd imagine the 39.99 set is something totally new, but the other two seem oh so familiar. Isn't the new T 70 X wing and first order tie fighter at those price points currently? I've got a feeling we're getting a new OT T65 x wing and OT Tie fighter after watching the trailer and seeing those two classic ships feature predominately. It's been five years since their last respective releases in 2012. This is pure speculation, but the points seem to coincide. The only other vehicles are the new shuttle and AT AT variant. I'd have loved that double wing shuttle and the AT ACT but they're pretty impossible to do at those price points. Thoughts? -

I was just thinking since we don't have concrete info yet that 75179 is a ROTJ based set, is there a possibility it could be from Rebels? Lando is rumored to be returning in season 3 and after watching the trailer there is one ship that caught my eye. The OT Y-wing is debuting in the series and I wonder if that may be 75179. It would make sense to have a rebel pilot and crew member for that set. We had the B-wing only a few years back and haven't had a Y-Wing since 2012 I think? The only thing that wouldn't support my train of thought is that there is no astromech droid in the figure lineup.
