  1. The ceremonial uniform tunic and pants are actually first world war U.S. Marine corps tunics and pants, so the color is somewhere between a forest green and a german green-grey. The Russian soldier torsos from the Indy line are sage green, or in LEGO's terminology--sand green, and are considerably lighter.
  2. Consider those instructions purchased. Very nice model!
  3. Very nice suggestion, and please share any pictures of it when have it assembled! As of now, I have no clue it that panel part fits into the wheel face as I suggested it might in the introductory post. I actually reworked the last system scale X Wing with this new set and made an almagamation of the two. Pretty happy with the result.
  4. The Hi-Res images just released hours ago, and I'm already thinking of mods after reviewing them. Overall, I think the X-Wing has some of the best proportions although it's a bit smaller--but not by much. One of the first things that stuck out to me was the parts for the engine intakes. I'm assuming they're new and look to be roughly proportional to the old engine parts used on all the X-Wings prior to 75218. I don't know if it's a new part or not, but the closest I could find in stud.io was a 4 wide although the part in the upcoming set is a 3 or a 3.5 wide. Another interesting bit to note here is the apparent lack of rubber bands for the S-foils. Reminds me of Mike Psiaki's design for his X-Wing MOCs, and he happens to be working for LEGO now. Convenient? I had an idea of how to improve the intakes but was concerned about the internal diameter of the new part. However, upon looking at close ups, it's obvious a 1 x 2 plate will fit in there without clipping the outer wall of the cylinder. So, here's my idea using the 4 wide part as a substitute. The new part looks to be a happy medium between a 4 and 3 wide. I've already got some other ideas to try when I get my hands on the set, such as the canons, how high the astromech is seated, the landing gear, and the boxy backside, but wanted to start a thread for others to share what they've come up with as it releases. Feel free to contribute!
  5. I just did. No VIP points or anything.
  6. Wait, $40 in VIP points? I ordered three through the site and never received them either due to the mobile site allowing me to buy them when they were out of stock, too. Any tips on how to get the VIP consolation considering they let the $120 payment sit for almost a week. Still hasn't cleared my bank as of yet.
  7. Any updates on this one? There's been a good number of new elements with wedge tiles, curves, and slopes since the last post in this thread, so there's a lot that could be implemented and I'm curious on any progress that's been made.
  8. Rather than a TPM wave which would have been nice last year with the 20th anniversary, I hope they do it for AOTC in 2022. There's a lot of potential for sets there that haven't been mined or rereleased.
  9. I concur with that notion. I'll be interested to see how they look, and I'm always impressed by what can be achieved with less pieces. The alleged new nose build for the T65 has me intrigued. That was a constant sore point for me with every single model. The only one I liked was the original, which is frowned upon by most, but at least they got that indentation detail in there with a nice print!
  10. I love the addition of the severed hand and the graflex on the plaque.
  11. We're probably only getting one new mold, and we already know what character that is. They have existing molds for the band, hammerhead, and greedo. Plus, they can repurpose existing parts to make aliens like the wolf man head pieces or the bat head pieces and the like. I'm hoping we get another dew back. Probably some exclusive droids or astromechs.
  12. Outstanding job! I was just finished a moc of the clone lancer bike and a z4f myself. Was hoping someone would deliver a BARC, and you nailed it out of the park!
  13. It's looking amazing so far. When I worked on my interior, I used your's as a guide/inspiration on what I could put in there. I was able to get a walkway down to the cockpit with an open door. Never did figure out how you got the operation ramp. If you want some pictures of what I came up with based on your initial work via stud.io, feel free to DM me. I don't want to hijack your thread by posting images of my mods.
  14. Very nice Redbird! I did some MOC work on my copy of 10212 in Stud.io but haven't done anything with the model IRL since there's rumors of a new UCS shuttle coming. Whether or not that ends up being true is the big factor in me actually integrating the mods. The wings have been a sour point since I bought it last two years back. I always thought the mechanism left a lot to be desired, and I'm impressed to see you were able to move the motors to wing housings and hide the motors there. The clutch gear is needed, and I think the original model even needed some reduction mechanism, too. Are you going to test it on your model? I'll be curious if you do, and to see if this rumored new UCS model shares any similarities with the old one.
  15. I like this more than the brickvault one. There's something about how you achieved the nose shape that nails the aesthetic of the ship.
  16. Killer! Something tells me that droid would become very dizzy with his whole body spinning around in addition to his rotating head!
  17. Maybe the Vader castle could be because of this new VR episodic game that's coming out concerning Vader? It's available to people with consumer grad VR headsets like the rift and vive, but it's still a bit surprising they'd base a set off of something literally few people know about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqPWwz0yFkE&frags=pl%2Cwn
  18. Any updates to this? I like where you're going with some of your mods.
  19. The UCS Y Wing is a real great starter to aid in the building of mining scale Y wings. I might pick up a couple to help with my MOCs.
  20. I doubt they are going to force retire the cantina just because TRU is going under. Regardless of the retailer, Lego still sells all exclusives through their own web-store. Unless someone's got direct confirm that TRU exclusives are getting axed, the notion is just wild speculation.
  21. Whooo! I've wanted someone to make one of these for awhile now! I worked on one for a bit but then gave up haha. Love it! I've been working on trying to build the Guardian Mantis but it has been slow. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Guardian_Mantis
  22. Interesting. Sir von lego was the AT RT cancelled because of stability issues or something to that effect? That's the only problem I initially thought when seeing the prelims...
  23. Just checking in and hope all is well! I'm currently working on recreating your excellently designed snow speeder. I've got a stud.io file complete just need to order parts. Have you worked on your AT AT in the last year? No doubt you had more important things to do. It's hard to make time for Lego anymore.
  24. I won't believe the rumors until we have more evidence, but the V19 set sounds like it's describing a republic attack shuttle rather than the V19 or a RGS.
