  1. The only way I think we would get a Dagobah related set again is if they released one similar to the x wing with Yoda's hut. I don't know how many kids would be clamoring to build a swamp and Yoda's house but throw in an X wing and bingo, sales.
  2. Lego Fett: Thanks for your interest and subscription! If the technic build is the one I'm thinking of, it's probably going to be the definitive x wing build. Drakmin isn't to be underestimated. He's a literal technic god as far as I'm concerned. He just needs time and parts. Lots of parts... I also downloaded LDD! I didn't even know about that haha! I'm working on the engines and the wings right now. Some of the parts don't want to go together because they're "not a legal connection". Well, I've got physical parts on hand and *emperor voice* I will make it legal. 1st Lt. Jedi: Thanks for the complement on my nose err my x wing's nose! Also, I appreciate the clarification on the scale. I've been trying to figure that out for years! I'll see what I can do with my MOD/MOC but I agree that 9493 was the best they could do at the time.
  3. Thanks guys! I agree about the size of the nose as well. I'm no lego guru by any means but there have been some outstanding parts that have been created by the company since I built sets as a kid. However, I find it nearly impossible once you get down to produce a small object such as the nose of the X Wing. I don't believe the limitation is in the parts to create something more likely the size limits what you can create if that makes sense. Guydudeman27: If the design you came up with is what you used in the headhunter MOC then I really like it! It's truly innovate with the snot usage and how you oriented the pieces. This project is going to be slow as I actually don't own the last system scale X wing. I'm planning on getting the new one as I'm curious on how the wing mechanism works. I can then get the instructions online and parts (first ever bricklink order) to 9493 and use my own mods to build the X-wing I'd like to see. Naijel: Thanks for your comment! I agree on the width of the nose. I believe all the "system" scale X-wings are legitimately out of scale with the figures. To be honest I have no idea what scale lego figures are supposed to be 1/35th? There's an excellent rendition of the X wing I have seen that was created by Mike Pisiaki that has a nose similar to what you describe. His rendition of the classic snub fighter is fantastic! Mine may look like a mushroom in the end, but I like my mushroom. I want to able into retractible landing gear and even attempt the dreaded hexagonal body. Oh boy... I doubt I'll get a perfect hexagon but I'll see what I can do! The things that bug me about the last rendition lego released were that the sidewalls of the ship made it look like it and "chubby cheeks". So I'm planning to work around that as well as get the astromich unit facing forward like the 7140, maybe some storage compartments, and hiding the rubber band mechanism (wishful thinking). I'm going to be halfway across the country starting my sophomore year in college in a couple of weeks so I don't know what I'll have done, if anything, before then. Education comes first!
  4. Plus the new Echo base both rebel trooper to boot!
  5. So this supports the fact that we probably won't be getting another Deathstar soon. I understand it plays a role in "Rogue One" but I doubt that warrants another Deathstar, especially from one of the spinoff films. Did anyone figure out where the $500 UCS rumor originated from yet?
  6. Everything is organized so uniformly and it looks so clean. The atmosphere you created is great, too. The walls and lighting really seal the deal!
  7. Hi everyone! I've been thinking of working on a system scale version of the classic X wing for a around a year now. I've been working with the parts I have at hand and with the impending release of the new trilogy x wing approaching (and it glorious new canopy!) I figured I might share what I have been working on. This project is going to be very slow, but I'll have fun doing it and sharing it with you all here! My goal will be working with and incorporating the designs of all the system scale X wings alongside whatever MODS or MOCS I can create to make a "more" accurate X wing. I'm not shooting for perfection here as lego's are toys and I want to have fun with it! Also, I have about 8 5 gallon tubs of lego bricks from Starwars sets (dating back to 1999) that I broke down as kid that I'll be using to test build ideas out. So, if your OCD like me and hate seeing rainbow colors, prepare yourself. Alright to get started, I began working with the nose around a year ago. The noses of the X-wing sets have always bugged me in that they never achieved a certain curvature and look rather stubby. Compare the nose to that of the actual X wing as seen below and you can see the curve and indentation at the rear of the nose the Lego model lacks. I fiddled around a bit and came up with this. I don't know if someone has done this before me or not but this was my result with some spare parts. If someone has came up with this design then all credit to them!
  8. I'm leaning more towards TFA because the snow speeder coming in September is named the "First Order Snowspeeder" and I would assume it would have it's opposing counterpart. However it might be from Rebels as well, considering they're debuting the prototype of the B wing in the series. I don't know if in one season they would show the genesis of two of the iconic vehicles of the OT but they might. I was hoping for a prototype X wing from the upcoming season but I'm fine with waiting for season 3.
  9. If you go on eBay and type in Force Awakens Lego you'll see them. I doubt the lego stores are letting them out. It's probably toy stores like Toys'r'us or other retailers like local walmarts or targets. Most of the hasbro stuff has been coming out of those outlets.
  10. Yeah, if you guys want to look go to eBay. The snow speeder, tie fighter, and Rey's speeder have all been bought and people have them in hand. The tie fighter has three hatches: front and rear windows and top. It seats two figures. Rey's speeder is a mystery though? Has a play function to store supplies in it. I'm also intrigued by the image on the back of the box. All the sets were purchased in Texas and New Mexico.
  11. I'm still debating whether the snow speeder is going to be OT or not.
  12. I wouldn't say it's ugly. It just looks like someone sandwiched an AT AT head between two massive wings. I hope that the V shaped flight mode means it is fixed in place in the V shape to fly rather than "flapping"to fly. Oh, that would be hilarious. However, in some of the promotional posters of the film the wings are indeed fixed in the vertical position so who knows maybe the V flight mode was removed in post production for some reason?
  13. I do have to admit they did a nice job with cutting the pauldrons for the stormtrooper officer. It has the right curvature to it!
  14. Hahaha Oh I know the feeling of this all to well. No worries though, it's lego it can be rebuilt. However for those who no the horrors of having a model plane fall from the ceiling ohhhhhhh
  15. Emperor Voice: "BEGIN THE GREAT PURGE EXECUTE ORDER 67"
  16. Alright thanks everybody! I need to get one or I'll be like:
  17. It's going to be super funny to me if you can retract the wings but cannot put them in flight mode. That is literally the major feature of the vehicle. I'd be like having the imperial shuttle with its wings fixed down the entire time lol. I'm going to wait off to see if it has a function to tilt the wings. If not, that will be the dumbest part of the wave IMO.
  18. Does anybody know what the actual status of the Ewok Village set is? In the US it says it's sold out and to "call back" in January? What? I understand that it's being replaced by Echo Base sometime later this year, but they never marked it as officially retiring yet.
  19. Does anyone know if the command shuttle's wings fold out for flight like in the trailer? They look like they are permanently fixed in the landing position apart from retracting the wings?
  20. Now that you mention it, it does look like they rehashed the AT-RT design but made it smaller. The box art makes it look like it sprints through the battlefield which I assume would make it an "assault walker" ? Aha! Just read the description on the back of the box and they do indeed sprint to hunt people apparently. I like the lethality.
  21. Anybody notice these two potential candidates for the vehicle in the First Order battle pack? There's a hasbro action figure vehicle set that has a first order assault walker and another one that has a black "elite" speeder bike with an elite trooper. The elite stormtrooper looks similar to the new elite tie fighter pilot with a red diagonal band across his chest. That could possibly be one of the figs. Here's a link to the images: http://www.rebelscum...kens_165344.asp
  22. The wing is evoking nostalgia of 7140 with the little service cart...
