Heroica RPG - Quest #53: Chaos in Eubric
Professor Flitwick replied to Zepher's topic in The Heroica Archive
Relieved that Felton was still alive, Thothwick breathed a sigh of relief. "Is it back to our headquarters? Mr. Malleio, Mr. Felton will either of you be requiring assistance to walk back? I mean not to sound patronising, but should you need help, I (and Mr. Ablesword, I am sure) will be willing to oblige." -
What perfect timing, seeing as Atramor and Thothwick are now both beyond Heroica's resurrecting powers! Might be hard to justify a sudden fight to the death in-character, but roleplaying be damned, I want my place in the court of King Guts!
-
Bah! We S.O.Ws will be the most dedicated of servants to King Guts, as soon as the Witches are cast out. Choose us, not them!

"[He has parents? SO, he isn't a mechanical being. Makes things easier, though he's definitely a new one on me... Eubric really confonds me sometimes...]" Shaking off his confusion, Hoptet extended his arm. "Hello, I Hoptet."

Hoptet staired in wonder at the latest hero of Heroica, but couldn't quite work out what it was. A species from a far off land? The workings on an eccentric Eurbician? A prophet of an rising demigod? Tentatively, Hoptet approached it. "Who... made you?"
-
Yeah, one. Care to take on the dynamic duel of Thothwick and Hoptet? Lets see Atramor beat an Ogre to death, too!

One should never underestimate the might of two Metasimians!

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion

Don't say they will like you know it's going to be made. Do you seriously think the bust of Watto, giant Medical Driod or the giant Imperial Probe will ever see the light of day? That picture doesn't confirm anything.- 7,499 replies

Go ahead. The S.O.Ws will swarn you as soon you step the training room.

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion
Professor Flitwick replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Okay, but just think for a second, who are their fans? Bare in mind that Lego, at it's heart, is a children's toy. TLC main target consumers are children, most of whom won't mind that the each Orc doesn't have its own individual print. Most will be content with three different Orcs, or three different Uruk-hai, or two different Goblins. Now, I want you to ask yourself this question (which also applies to a few others who frequent this thread) 'Is Lego the right hobby for you?'. You seem to have a passion for all things Middle-Earth, and might be expecting too much from a child's toy. Perhaps look into Games Workshop miniatures, where you can have a myriad of different characters, or action figures, wherein the more obscure figures are likely to be made (also, folks asking for Gamlings, or Madril - just be happy that we've got Haldir, or the Mouth of Sauron. Major players have been left out of other themes, it's gonna happen here too, and to much more important characters than 'the orc with the other orcs head on his hat' ). Sorry if the above strikes you as overly critical or harsh, but I just think some of you could do with a reality check.- 7,499 replies

Isn't that exactly what everyones first quest is, except more patronising? Everybody has to start somewhere, I don't see why new players should get a dumbed down experience, when you, me and everyone else managed just fine starting out on a normal quest? They, like us, can and will learn the game by playing the game.

No. TLC releases liscene-theme sets in time with their release to maximise the amount of sets sold. Holding back on the sets until the excitement of the film has died down and the kids have less interest than they would have, just so they can make sure the correct Orc is on the correct Warg is not a viable business strategy.- 7,499 replies

Wow, those figures look great. Never thought I'd see the King of the Dead in Lego form, let alone the Peter Jackson pirate, so the selection looks great to me. I would hardly call it a 'big' mistake. Yeah, it's an error, but whatever. We got a Yazneg figure out of it, a character we would never of got otherwise, and will likely get an Azog figure in the next wave. Hardly cause to say that the Hobbit sets should be released several months after the film was released (which would be a terrible marketing decision).- 7,499 replies

Whilst attacking Advanced Chimera Guard A from the back row with his Banana Sabre, Thothwick's mind was racing with excitement. "Can't quite fathom it! I've been this close to a Dragon before, but to see one in combat? At such a close proximity? What wonderful luck Orang Pendek has bestowed upon me!" -

For everything the Witch stood for, Thothwick didn't wish death upon him. That wasn't his way, nor the way of S.O.W.s. Deportation would be a suitable punishment for his choices, but death, less so. Raising his eyebrows, Thothwick contemplated his next few words. "Well. If you're certain, may Orang Pendek guide you, Atramor." -

The minifigures that they include is no indication of how long a liscene will continue. In the Harry Potter line we never got a Kingsley Shackbolt, nor Cedric Diggory, but got comparatively minor characters such as Professor Sprout or Professor Flitwick. The fact they included the Mouth of Sauron (which is, as stated before me, a miracle in itself) is no indication of how long the sets will continue to be made.- 7,499 replies
