What was the worst construction set?
MakutaOfWar replied to Bigger Fish's topic in LEGO Action Figures
If the sockets didn't break I wouldn't mind them so much... -
Onua is definately better then I thought he would be, and I already knew he would be a killer set. Funny, Kopaka is in my next wave of purchases but I really haven't cared for the set too much which is odd because I really loved Kopaka in Gen 1. I think it's that leg armor. ;_;

I think there was a favorite CCBS set thread but I'm not sure about a Gen 1 topic and I decided to keep this out of the Gen 1 Discussion to keep things cleaner over there. :P

What was the worst construction set?

You mean the arms were too long? And it's really a "whatever floats your boat" topic, some people like Inika builds, some people like limited-floppy arm builds. And saying the Phatoka and Mistika don't look like their 01/02 counterparts can be compared to how the Nuva didn't look like the Mata, were people complaining then? Sure Kopaka Nuva had his scope but so did Phatoka Kopaka. And personally I think Onua Mistika's mask looks more like his Mata form then his 02 Nuva form did, but really there were a few differences between the Mata and the 02 Nuva. Plus I happen to think Tahu's Mistika mask was the best from that year, but like I said it's all a matter of opinions. :P -

Why people complain about the Inika builds??? :S There was still great variety, especially the titans. Not too much different then the way they released the Mata/Nuva. The bulk of my Gen 1 collections consist of post-06 sets, since that is when I really got into Bionicle(first set was still in 01 though). I've especially seen a couple of people complain about Tahu Mistika, who might just be my favorite out of the Inika build era. -
Yeah the first one I have on my phone but in daylight. I'm not a fanboy, OKAY? ...yeah, okay, maybe I am.

I've seen some pretty creepy natural formations in my lifetime... at least one, but it was one to remember. Not very Bionicle like though unless there was a mask that resembles a person gasping for air coming out of a tree, but this comment is semi-off topic just thought I'd share because I'm bored... So if they did decide to make villager sets I suppose recolors of the Toa masks or something would be cool. I wonder how the builds would differ from the Protectors though. Edit: Curious, what mask would anybody want recolored? Thought I'd ask.

Woah, love the talons and the modded katanas. Very nice. Sadly I never mod >_< but excited to see what more people contribute. Though I am so turned away from Kopakas shins...

At least the Protector's masks resemble a Arthon/Gelu helmet hybrid, both of which I loved the looks. ...though full remakes of the Turaga's masks would have been awesome. ç.ç

Ugh, back page comic previews were so awesome. I remember the last winter 2007 comic back page and I tried to guess what color each Mahri was, through Hahli was easy because her blue was very prominent in the picture. I was psyched when I found out in summer they were the Inika again. XD

This competition is just so slapped together. I'm sure they could have come up with something more creative.

I don't mind Bruizer's unimaginative arm function but surely the budget put into the arm(technic beam, ball joints, etc.) could have went into adding a CCBS arm instead, right? Like along with the "function". -

Ya know, I absolutely hated Surge breakouts color scheme. So what do I do? I dismantled him... Bionicle it would have to be one of the poly bags(not the Hero pack!). -

Buying mine in waves, next and final winter wave will be Kopaka and final 3 protectors. Now I'd like to know if I'm the only one that only concerns myself with Bionicle and strictly Bionicle. I miss the YouTube community...

^I would love more piston-aesthetic armor add-ons to be produced, if at least three circulated in production at a time I would be happy. Maybe even a complete shell overhaul would be nice, I don't like the bland-ness of the shells and never did! But Bionicle Gen 2 has some great diversity among the sets so it's less noticeable, which is great compared to the late HF(with the exception of the beautiful Evo XL Machine <3).

Here's a thought; what if they use the prototype MoCR as the MoUP? Or maybe it already is...

To me they're worth the 15-20. XD But yeah definitely good buys. I recommend checking out some reviews on the internet first though if your having trouble contemplating.

Got my package with Gali, Onua, PoE, PoS, and the hero pack today. The trans-Hau(fire mask thing) is stunningly stunning. Gali is more feminine then I expected and her trident axe is huge! I love it <3 while Onua is better then I expected, and I expected him to be pretty good. And as for the protector's, well, they're cute and small so not much to say in that department. :P

It really doesn't look all too bad when raised. :P And for the legs, the pieces used are still overly noticeable differences in length, giving him a somewhat unnatural look as oppose to a human. XD

Finally ordered my Hero Pack(damn procrastination) along with Gali, Onua, PoS, and PoE. Now as on the topic of Pohatu's jeterangs mine have enough friction, though I would like to complain about Pohatu's legs, the thigh bone being larger then the leg bone gets a bit on my nerves, as does the lower gearbox. But he is growing on me the more I fiddle with him. As I don't like modding, with the exception for Xplode's and Witch Doctor's axe and staff, heightening Pohatu's gearbox works wonders in my eyes giving him the hunched appearance he had from 2001. Yes it does make head movement more restricted buuuuut :P he didn't have any head movement whatsoever in the Mata and Nuva days. XD

Ahhh, I love me some purple. Overall nice build. Dat gear system though, if only I had the patience to be able to concoct something like that. ç.ç Well done. Also the legs only strengthen my opinion on needing truly titan-style sets. Someone mentioned how the use for customized legs isn't a priority with larger builds due to the friction extenders, which you used with an overall customized leg build. Personally, I love and don't love the friction extender use in sets. Examples of uses in sets like Lewa and Gali(she uses them right?) I love them giving the appropriate height the set deserves, but uses like Stormer XL, Furno XL, etc I dislike. Although with the "titans" of this wave, highly-customized uses of friction would have ruined the sets for me I think. Ah, sorry for kind of going off topic, I rant too much sometimes. Love the moc! Edit: Ah crap, that spare ball joint on the right leg in the 4th picture isn't used for friction, it's used for armor! My argument is invalid. XD So sorry.
