I just watched the video and figured to post here, very interesting concepts, I would love to see more technic in gen 2 Bio. *Sigh* It's still really cool to see what my childhood hobby actually evolved from.

^Neither should be banned, but the point is everybody is entitled an opinion and shouldn't be attacked(unless it's something horrible, which mine was not) or have other opinions pushed on them. End of discussion. Also this talk about the Voodoo heads makes me think I should actually get around to watching the video, they all sound interesting, and I need a nostalgia trip.

Decided to keep this out of both the Bio Gen 1 discussion and any of the CCBS threads. Feel free to post your pros and cons of each system. Personal opinion: One thing that I think some people don't get is that aesthetic and detail is a big factor of builds and MoCs, in that factor OGBio excels. Building experience, both are very fun and unique, but also similar, building experiences. While CCBS I believe supplies a more reliable selection of pieces in terms of socket durability, and also has the potential for amazing builds, which have been a fairly rare occurrence in set form, but a fairly common in community builds. OGBio: 2 Points, CCBS: 2 Points. Making, in my opinion, a neutral ground on which the two stand. I also believe that, since CCBS is here to stay, it could learn a thing or two from the original system.

@Scarilian. Yeah! @Mandate. By experimenting I mean that it's obviously a new theme. If it had a huge budget, which past users(many of those who disagree with me)claim it doesn't, we would have seen way more to the theme, thus yes they are, in my opinion, experimenting with the theme. And not to sound childish but he did blatantly call me a jerk, and feels my posts have no meaning to this community.

There's no winning with you, buddy. But I gave an example of what you could do with the shoulders due to pin holes. Every armor piece had pin holes, so just because TLG didn't implement too much creativity in it doesn't mean people can't, and truthfully some of the best MOCs ever, in my opinion, were made with the gen 1 system in a way CCBS as is can not. And that is very possibly due to the lack of technic pin holes in comparison. -
^I have nothing against the box comics, it's what I would expect to see on a box, I actually find them cute on the box but a whole graphic novel of them? No. Again my opinions. As for the online animations I would have prefer that they were even more reminiscent of MNOG, of which I extremely found entertaining, but the voice acting in English is just, bleh. I only watched the first 3 promotions for and nothing more due to the voice acting. And since we are talking about promotional material I expect them to be cheaper, since they are after all still experimenting with the theme, but as I said before graphic novels step away from promotional material and into supplying the means of keeping an interest instead of working to gain it. And I'd rather see more stylized and detailed artwork, maybe even the full potential of the artists who created the box work. But these are my preferences which I care about, you have yours and I have mine, but I'm going to back up mine since I don't believe I'm in any wrong here.

Ah, arguing my opinions here as well. The old style of building could more easily implement technic piece connections, which in turn means you have gen 1 molds with technic molds, equaling a vast amount of customization. An Inika thigh armor piece could easily be connected to the shoulder piece with the help of technic, not even that really. And that's just an example, I'm saying the possibilities are more open. Usually when I moc with CCBS it's extremely difficult to create anything non-2.0 figure, but look at more complex Inika builds like Skrall, Kiina, Mahri Kongu, etc. Way more possibilities. -
And your opinion is better then mine? Where is your source that these actually have budget and time put into these? I'm basing my claims on what I can actually SEE. It looks drawn/animated simply, if that's what you like then okay, but I don't and that's my opinion. I didn't state that they should cater to my desires when writing about the graphic novel, I said I hoped it would be better. But oh dear I'm so soooorry for liking my own preferences. And berating on my opinions in favor of your own obviously leads me to believe you feel your opinions are so good that they out-favor everbody elses. Also I feel that last part about the art classes could turn into a navy seal copypasta variant. Finally yes this is a forum for opinions, but the rules also stated friendly discussion and I have a slight feeling there are no kind feelings towards me and my opinions.

Yeah don't state opinions on this forum. By cheap I mean they're cheap, obviously tlg didn't put a large budget into the box art comics, so cheap would be a fair term. And the quality isn't up to what my standards of quality is. Overly "cheap" is not quality in my own opinion, am I not entitled to an opinion?

But they don't also have to be cheap and cheesy. And of course it's wrong of me to hope for something more attractive to my preferences, and most likely those of the fans. When you step into media such as graphic and word novels it fades away from promotional material and more into targeting those who already have an interest and supplying the means of keeping an interest. @The Outsider I was talking about just more detail in general, though the variety of artists and style in Gen 1 was pleasant. :P I thought Sayger's 06's and 07's work was very fitting for the dark tones of those years, and the shift to a new artist in 08 with the cleaner style was fitting as well.

Ew, I hope it's more like the Gen 1 comics, not the box art and web thingy style. Keep in mind that people would be paying for it, it should be of some quality.

Saberwing^Breakout sets? They all made it(American here), but Breeze and Thornraxx didn't get shipped I believe until summer when they were originally due in winter. :P -
A graphic novel? Ooooh the excitement just peeked. :3 The comics in Gen 1 were my main source of storyline information from 2006-10 so that's really awesome.

Not sure if I posted this but I have an irrational hate for Surge Breakout. The color scheme really ticks me off. >^< -
Well, I'm not one for crap competitions anyways, but it's still not fair for those that have entered. Of course people will disagree with me though, I'm not sure this community accepts "fairness".

I see what you did there. And isn't it basically just Dragon Bolt's wing function but with arms? Which I'm totally looking forward to because that kept me entertained.

The story is still really anybody's guess. Not too terribly much to work with at the moment, I just do hope that there is more to it.

What was the worst construction set?

Body wise compare Inika to the 2.0/Breakout/Brain Attack/Gen 2 Bonkle builds, still more variety. Plus the Inika pieces can also be used, obviously, to create non-Inika build characters. I guess there were some faults in my original wording, but comparing the two generations, Gen 1 had more variety. Of course I love Gen 2 Bio as well, but I still find myself occasionally reminded of the plain-ness of CCBS. And I know that people might say "It's suppose to be more bland", but truthfully solely squares and rectangles isn't necessarily attractive, especially when coming from Gen 1 Bionicle, and it's predecessors, which were far more then just that geometry. Also consider that CCBS is a complete building system, but they rarely tap the potential it has. 2 of 18 Bionicle sets this year are of a non-humanoid build. And of course HF had what, 9/10 ratio of Humanoid/Non-Humanoid builds? One thing for more complex builds is the double socket bone piece, a key piece for me, which is rarely in sets. -
The re-imaging of Gen 1's matoran as small size classed sets next year would be awesome, as long as they implement the Toa masks in recolors. As for the medium sized sets I would appreciate more villains before they release more Toa or what have you. Plus a whole wave of small vs large would be refreshing to have again in Constraction. Of course this is rumors aside. Maybe even have Bohrok, but instead of having cloned sets with different colors maybe have actual different sets in terms of build style, like a standard Bohrok, one with multiple legs, etc. But this is all just my imagination. It's allll just my imagination... c_c

^Ccbs has been around for 4 years now and the amount of pieces Bionicle had circulating in production between 2001-2005 was still a considerable difference in variety, even without the Slizer and Roborider molds. Plus look at the pieces that were introduced in ccbs that were discontinued. So I would say in three years IF Bionicle is still a theme that the molds will still be limited.
