Hey, don't forget Nocturn! And I agree, looking at the differences between Splitter Beast and Evo XL, I definitely wouldn't consider Splitter a Titan sized set but I would consider Evo, and I loved the amount of technic in Evo XL machine. Hopefully Bionicle follows the same route.

I just miss the complexity of the larger sets. Tahu, and I'm sure Onua and Kopaka, are amazing, but I think of them and compare them with Tuma who was similarly priced and more recently(6 years whatever) released and it amazes me how the times have changed. I know that pieces lack due to things such as inflation and such, but I still just expect more and wish TLG would focus the constraction resources where it's due, otherwise Bionicle might not last past or even three years. Remember it's "planned" three years, there were also two more movies "planned" in Gen 1 and look what happened. My Bio-organic dinosaurs <\3.

Prime example of what I'm talking about, Aquagon, you are. So when is NYTF, everybody? Haven't heard much about it on here since we already got fairly good pics from Nuremberg of summer sets. But we could still use a back view of Basher, eh? :P

I would say the 2013 wave of sets was the first to show how little they really cared. You can see the lack of really any creativity in the majority of sets. Along with 2014(except Evo XL, he's my nostalgia love). Didn't they say they decided Bionicle's return in 2012 at NYCC?

Yeah, because we didn't have to wait 1-2 extra months for HF 2014, because we have last years ultrabuilds that have better pieces then HF imo, and because we have that nice trans Hau promo this early. Great to be an American. ._.

Found the atheist! XD I'm more worried about things like personality and emotions. My Bonkles always had that when I was little, it would be too different for my taste to have them be just robots. Plus the sense of magic(souls) doesn't hurt.

Robots(cyborgs) "building" their "children" is less apealing to me because it implies that the characters are more machine and less sentient, meaning they don't have emotions, personality, etc. And this "target audience", I don't care about the "target audience". I'm a gen 1 fan coming from a time when TLG actually gave a shit about the fans and not just making some toys. They're not just "some toys" to me. Everybody needs to stop being sales specialists or whatever on this forum. And is it just me or did anyone else make Tanma and Gavla have a relationship? Just me? Oh...

Why all the hate for the darker story of the olden days? Crap, I miss the YouTube Bionicle community of 09. ._. I'm pretty sure that at least Skull Warrior is a "army-builder" set, with the other 3 medium tier sets being a commander type of soldier, while Grinder being the leader(and possibly being under Makuta). At least that's how I see it. :D

I love how dark these sets look. :P It's definitely starting to open up more lore options to me. I'm so making a centaur moc for the skull(army?).

My thoughts! Mask Maker: Waited 8 years for Mata Nui and 6 months for Ekimu. Go figure. XD Skull Grinder: Knight from DOOM? So creepy. XD Skull Basher: Huge Purple Horns. Also creepy, not bad. Skull Slicer: He's Naked! Seriously, lack of armor, reused silver skull. Pfft, seriously? Wait, Trans-Apple Bones! Okay, he's growing on me. :P Skull Scorpion: Good Nui-Jaga recreation imo. Interestingly good function. Skull Warrior: Two weapons, gunmetal mystery mask. I like. New add-on: I can see where they got "fabric" from now. New bones: Okay for one wave, but if TLG goes back to pin connected armor I'm so down for that. New torso armor: Screams 2008 Phatoka-Makuta to me. Nice visualization of a rib cage.

How are people judging the new photos? I can't see more then pixels when I zoom in... ...of course I'm also on mobile though. XD Hopefully we get close ups. Never send a Constraction-hating system-lover to do a Constraction-lovers job; Taking pictures.

Thanks to arc and legozebra for providing pics! My thoughts: Skull Warrior: Love the bow and staff. Skull Slicer: Four arms! And a mace with a gen 2 head? Skull Basher: I thought he's be bulkier but we get a good look at the new add-on. And those horns are very creepy. XD Skull Skorpio: A bit of "bleh" with potential. Mask Maker vs Skull Grinder: Awesome. MoCR, Hammer, new mystery mask I believe and Grinder's awesome maniacal weapon. Side note: Skull Grinder does not have Lewa masks for knees, those are the new add-ons. Overall Opinion: The new bones are neat but have barely any real potential and make me worry about the future use of these and Bionicle's budget calling for "half-made" sets. Which hopefully isn't the reason for these skeleton creatures(with the piece count made from small pieces like gears and pins.)

Go back to reddit! Just kidding. XD But I agree, although I do miss the darker more complex story I agree this is a return to the more light hearted years of Gen 1 Bio, and I'm okay with that. Though a Gen 2 Karzahni would be epic. ^_^

Well I don't care for system as they don't care for Constraction. Anyways must wait for pics -.- Jan. 28th is going to be a good day hopefully. I do hope Grinder is bigger then a 15€(hope I did that right XD) if not I may be disappointed. Tahu needs a decent villain to fight!

December 2006, crappy internet. I walked into TRU, bam, Barraki. Then from June 07-Jan 09 I relied on catalogs for summer set information. Toa Mahri Jaller was amazing the first time I saw him in the catalog, as was Phatoka Kopaka, Mistika Tahu, and Tuma. *Sigh* Pleeeease childhood come back!

I was reading the Bionicle interview section of this months Lego magazine(only a fan of Constraction here, not system) and there was a concept for some rock-like beast with almost a alligator-like head. It has no resemblance to any of the current sets whatsoever. Summer hint maybe?

I thought this site was for "friendly" discussion, or am I missing something? I think it's best you two drop it so we can continue discussing friend-ily... Anyways I'm excited for NYTF as I usually am, I have been viewing set leaks and NYTF pics since 2009 :P So it's only tradition for me to analyze the pictures everyday until they release. XD Hopefully they are posed decently though.

Gen 1 would have made a great online open world RPG. I've been thinking of how killer they could have made it. People could have maybe created 3 characters: A Toa protagonist with The Order of Mata Nui. A Makuta antagonist with the Brotherhood. And then a Dark Hunter would have been cool. Choose gender, collect armor and weapons. :P Would have been awesome. Receive missions from each faction's leader, etc. Oh well, isn't there suppose to be a 2015 game according to the leaks that predicted Okoto? Will probably be just another game with childish humor. *sigh*

Fighting cancer? I didn't know that, I thought Gatanui was referencing doo-heads or cybots(yeah I'm not too bright). That's actually quite awesome/sad though.
