  1. Yes, it does look better with larger wheels.
  2. I can't give advice for ios but for android here is my experience. First of all the controller must have bluetooth and be supported by android. Choose a mainstream one that a lot of peope have and use. That way you increase the chances of working without issues. That's why bluetooth console controllers are best. If you already own a controller you can check if it is supported by android by connecting through bluetooth and upon moving the joysticks you shoud see the cursor moving over the apps. Some time ago I was in the situation to get a bluetooth controller for BC2 and I choose the PS4(v2) controller. At that time I had the unpleasant surprise it did't work with BC2 but it was quickly fixed by Imurvai and it is now supported. If you decide to go for a PS4 controller I must warn you that not all android apps and games support it properly because of the quirky way it talks to the app. For instance Minecraft is not controllable with it because the controller will continuously steer in one direction. Recently I also got a bluetooth Xbox One controller. It works fine with BC2. For other apps/games I only tested Minecraft so far, but I don't expect to have issues because it doesn't have any strange way to talk to the apps like the PS4 one does. I'm not sure if the Xbox One controller is supported by older android versions being such a new controller, so this is something to keep in mind.
  3. Lol! that's strange! It looks like a gator mounted by a truck. A kid's dream toy...
  4. Are you sure you are exiting using the checkmark in the top right corner?
  5. There might be a workaround to this. If in the play screen there is a button to "lock the screen" that puts the app in full screen (or whatever it is called, just like games do) with a black screen (or minimal info displayed) and a giant slider to "unlock". It is unlikely that the slider will be dragged up to the end in the pocket. The slider is one idea, but any other unique "unlock" sequence will work. The only drawback is that some phones have buttons that can't be inhibited in the "lock/pocket" mode. With some careful usage, this may work. I'm not convinced this is feasible, it's just a quick idea that just came to my mind.
  6. Two of my suggestions for the app: 1) Make the play screen "dark mode" (use black background instead of white) in order to preserve battery for those having OLED displays. Or even better enable a dark theme for the entire app. 2) For BuWizz 2, in the play screen, make the Ludicrous mode optional. That is, in the Buwizz 2 device settings add a toggle button for the Ludicrous mode button to be displayed or not in the play screen. That's because some 9V devices connected to BuWizz may not support the 12V delivered by the Ludicrous mode, like an IR receiver supplied from the BuWizz port, and I would like not to accidentally enable it from the play screen.
  7. EV3 does not have a full bluetooth stack implemented because it is based on a heavily cut down linux. Although technically possible it is very difficult to directly connect a controller to EV3, and that would be possible only for one specific controller model. Brick controller 2 would be the perfect tool for this. I would be willing to beta test a version capable of controlling EV3 or NXT (I have them both). The documentation is widely available and examples of source code can be found on github. It just needs to be merged into BC2 and tested.
  8. Yes. With OTG cable and Sixaxis Enabler app. You'll have to test it on your phone to make sure it works.
  9. Unfortunately the only related folder I could find is /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.scn.BrickController2/files and it is empty. I believe root access is needed in order to get to the app's folder you mentioned.
  10. Is there currently any way to transfer profiles from one phone to another? I need to transfer my profiles to a new phone and they are pretty complex. I would like to avoid recreating them. Where are the profiles stored? Is it possible to copy a settings file?
  11. Does the app works (or in theory should) with USB Infrared Adapters like this one?
  12. Maybe let the user the option to tweak the response speed with a slider. By default being the maximum speed. I see this working like this: The servo position is controlled by the joystick position and for turning speed is used the max speed by default. If the user wants to tweak the speed (and power) it uses the slider to tune it down. edit: I tried to understand why would you use the position to calculate the turning speed (like you said you do) because in reality the joystick position should only affect the servo position not it's turning speed. Are you implementing a sort of overshoot protection by adjusting the speed too? Because otherwise the algorithm should strive to deliver the fastest servo turning speed at any time.
  13. It looks as if it doesn't have enough power to return to center. Maybe it uses the last analog value supplied by the joystick as reference for the return power, that being very small as it is close to zero (joystick center).
  14. That would be extremely useful for any kind of device that supports reporting it over Bluetooth. Or at least the battery voltage.
  15. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (2017) and I had success with the PS4 v2 controller connected over BT. It is supported nicely by Brick Controller. Give it a try, though it is not a cheap option.
  16. App is indeed great but it could use some improvement in the profiles management. A capability to clone a profile for further modifications would be highly appreciated. And the ability to assign one profile as default is needed (or change the order of the profiles).
  17. 15 : 10 12 : 6 7 : 4 2 : 3 16 : 2 11 : 1
  18. Amazing model. Seems like a lot of fun to play. Have you tested the latest brick controller app? I'm curious if you find is any difference in the lag.
  19. I like that the communication is open standard and I can use imurvai's BrickController app to control it with a physical controller.
  20. Tank you for your dedication in improving this app. I really appreciate your effort and contribution to the Lego community. Keep up the amazing work!
  21. Even if you don't have a PS4 controller you could implement a small workaround during button assigning procedure by ignoring analog signals with end of scale values (-1, 0 or 1) and take into consideration only values between -0.99 ... -0.01 and 0.01 ... 0.99 because anyway by touching the joystick or the triggers you will get values in these intervals. Thank you for your feedback. I'm glad this is a known problem because I was starting to wonder why I'm the only one mentioning this issue.
  22. After a lot of testing I found a workaround for using the PS4 controller v2 (CUH-ZCT2E) with BrickController: After pairing the controller, or after powering it up, don't touch any of the trigger buttons. If by mistake you touch any of them, power off the controller and power it up again (or un-pair and pair again). This way the button assigning procedure in BrickController can be finished without being disrupted by the permanent "-1" signals from the triggers (the trigger signals are only activated after first use of the triggers). The downside is that you can't use the triggers for motor control (which I would find useful for acceleration and braking). I attached a screenshot of the controller tester with both disruptive trigger signals displayed. Exiting and terminating the app does not get rid of them. This problem is tied to this controller type and is present on every android device I've tested it (Samsung Note 8 SM-N950F with Android 8.0, Samsung S6 edge with Android 7.0, Lenovo A3500-FL with Android 4.4.2).
  23. My name is Iulian and I'm from Romania. I'm 38. I rediscovered Lego around 5 years ago together with my sons. My favorite theme is Technic but I also collect modulars and creator expert, especially the advanced model cars. My favorite builds are trial trucks and tracked vehicles. I have a few participations in truck trial competitions organized by RoLUG in my country. I also toyed around with some GBC-s, some of them published on my humble youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClE1524LwfiIP2qoCkjFREA
