  3. Cool! So two large "miscellaneous goods" factories, the first in Arlinsport, Tiberia and the second in Mooreton Bay, Alicentia. I'll license and post a reminder in the accounts thread if required.
  4. Well done everybody! An especially enjoyable challenge, in part due to all the collaboration and tie-ins that went on between builders, great to see the community at work!! Thanks as always to the leadership team for hosting and judging, also I think you guys got the prizes spot on for this one, great work! For Cat A, I'll take the two free large licenses as I already have a mayorship pending from challenge 3. When I've got the mirco-builds done (great idea BTW, although I may just do two small minifig scale facades) do I just fill out a license form as normal and note that it is free? Or should I check the 'this is my free license box'? Oh and yay! My 500th post and a Eurobricks promotion!!!
  5. To work out what we need to progress to a Level 4 'Large Town', I've sorted through all the properties for Arlinsport and after some consultation below is the current list of properties and settlement size, together with the requirements to advance a level. @SkaForHire feel free to copy and past into the first post if you want, I can keep this post up-to-date to save you the work if you like? Everyone else, we need x4 x2 factories and a residence, any volunteers? I'll personally attempt a factory for a November licence. _____________________________________ Properties: 94 Size for EGS purposes – Level 8 ‘City’ Required for Level 16 'Large City': TBD Artisans: 8 account sheet says 9 Woodworker’s Shop, small artisan, Mike S (+1 Settlement Size) Amelia Street Bakery, small artisan, Mike S (+1 Settlement Size) The Scribe of Arlinsport, small artisan, Puvel (+1 Settlement Size) Boat yard, small artisan, Brickwolf (+1 Settlement Size) The Captain’s Daughter Tavern, small artisan, Ayrlego (+1 Settlement Size) The Crossed Swords Tavern, small artisan, BrickOn (+1 Settlement Size) Arlinsport Blacksmith Shop, small artisan, SilentWolf (+1 Settlement Size) The Captain's Daughter (2) Tavern, small artisan, Mesabi, (+1 settlement size) Commerce: 17 (account sheet says 18) Coyle Shipping Company, small commerce, Mike S (+1 Settlement Size) Bounty Office, small commerce, Skaforhire (+1 Settlement Size) Bank of Arlinsport, small commerce, Scarst (+1 Settlement Size) Counting House, small commerce, Scarst (+1 Settlement Size) Horse Merchants Office, small commerce, SilentWolf (+1 Settlement Size) Livery, medium commerce, Silentwolf (+2 Settlement Size) Headquarters, medium commerce, Mesabi (+2 settlement size) Seawolf shipping company and offices, Brickwolf (+2 settlement size) ETTC Headquarters, medium commerce ETTC (+2 settlement size) Bank of Corrington Office, small commerce, Arlinsport (+1 Settlement Size) Arlinsport City Gate, medium culture, Arlinsport (+2 settlement size) Bank of Corrington, small commerce, Bank of Corrington (+1 settlement size) not licensed Factories: 8 Miscellaneous goods factory, large factory, Ayrlego (+3 settlement size) Small factory, small factory, Ayrlego (+1 settlement size) Shako Shanty, medium factory, Arlinsport (+2 settlement size) Glue factory, medium factory, Mesabi (+2 settlement size) Residences: 28 (21 NPC) Elizabeth’s parent’s home, Small residence, Silentwolf (+1 Settlement Size) The Montoya Residence, small residence, Bregir (+1 Settlement Size) Micah’s Residence, small residence, SilentWolf (+1 Settlement Size) Allcock Residence, small residence, Ayrlego (+1 Settlement Size) Griffin's Residence, small residence, Silentwolf (+1 Settlement Size) Griffin's Residence (2), medium residence, Silentwolf (+2 Settlement Size) Art and Culture: 4 The Department of Time, small culture, Bregir (+1 Settlement Size) The Gardens of Arlinsport, medium culture, Silentwolf (+2 Settlement Size) Admiralty Office, small culture, Corrington (+1 Settlement Size) Educational: 7 The cartographer, small education, Phred (+1 Settlement Size) Cartography Academy, small education, Kai NRG (+1 Settlement Size) Lecture Room, small education, Drunknok (+1 settlement size) Naval Academy, small education, Arlinsport (+1 settlement size) Lieutenant Joshua's presentation, small education, Spud the Viking (+1 settlement size) Plantations: 5 Sugar Cane Plantation, small plantation, Simon_S (+1 Settlement Size) Little Spices Plantation, small plantation, Puvel (+1 Settlement Size) Lavender Patch and Apiary, small plantation, Ayrlego (+1 Settlement Size) Horse Ranch, small plantation, SilentWolf (+1 Settlement Size) Potato Plantation, small plantation, Spud the Viking (+1 settlement size) Mines: 2 Prospecting on Tiberia, prospecting build, Mike S (+1 to settlement size) Silver Mine, mine, Mike S (+1 Settlement Size) Forts: 9 Fort Arlin, Large Fort, Mike S (on behalf of the Crown) (+3 to settlement size) x2 NPC Large Forts (+6 to settlement size) Other builds: 2 A visit to Arlinsport, unlicensed, BrickOn (+1 to settlement size) Leaving Tiberia, unlicensed, Lord Vladivus (+1 to settlement size) ETTC hires sailors, unlicensed, SilentWolf Reviewing the Guard, unlicensed, Ayrlego A letter, and fish, unlicensed, Drunknok
  6. A change of uniform for Cooke, nice! A good concept for an outpost and a great strategic location - I love the name as well. I've never been a big fan of brick built animals, but I have longer admired your seagulls. I think I'll be attempting one before too long! The trans clear plates for waves are simple but quiet effective. Great job and good to see Cocovia expanding.
  7. Me too. This is an interesting point. I was planning a 'Royal' level educational build(s) for Arlinsport. The plan was for 5 individual MOCs, x2 48x48 MOCs of the exterior of the building (one the front façade and driveway etc, the other the rear façade and formal gardens - the building will be 4 stories high). Then I was planning a minimum of x3 separate 32x32 interior scenes (members lounge, library and laboratory). This would be a total footprint of 7680 studs. Would this kind of plan be acceptable? Or is it a strict 10000 stud footprint?
  8. @SilentWolf, may I ask what you licensed this as? I'm trying to work out what Arlinsport needs to progress to the next level, so far I have your contributions as: Elizabeth's parents home, small? residence Arlinsport blacksmith shop ? artisan Back on the ranch, small plantation Horse merchant office, ? commercial? Micah's Residence, ? residence Livery, medium? artesian? Can you confirm the license status of all for me? Thanks! EDIT: All good, I figured them all out! Thanks.
  9. Somehow I'm waiting for something to burst out of that lovely water and devour the prospectors whole..... Good Luck!!!
  10. Very nice - definitely a rich and extravagant feel about this that displays Brickinson's new found wealth! I especially like the use of the grooved bricks as columns. Great job!
  11. Nice! What better way to foster good relations between Blue and Red!!!
  12. Thanks, I was lucky to get two at the time - both used in this build! Thanks Garmadon, I agree the roof looks somehow wrong. Actually this little section is really a trial run for a big project for Arlinsport I am planning in my head, so I'll note I need to work on the roof transition! The reason I didn't do a door is that I figured it would be weird for the guys to be dancing right outside someone's front door! Thanks SilentWolf, it was your Octoberfest builds that motivated me to stop being lazy and get something together! The trim is indeed tan! No problems Capt Wolf! The lighting does seem a bit weird, not sure what was going on. The green is medium green - a colour I didn't even know existed until recently. The piece selection is really limited, a couple of months ago I managed to get 300 from a Bricklink seller in Denmark for the planned project I mentioned in my response to Garmadon. The trim is tan. Thanks! I studied your Weelond builds for both this scene and the red school - got to get the little details correct right! Also the spectator on the left with the children is a certain Corrish school teacher...
  13. Great looking dock scene. I love the atmosphere of this build, really piratey! The Ashen Guard looks very impressive as well. Great job!
  14. Really cool inn! The flower roof technique looks great and is quite unique. Good Job!
  15. Weelond Octoberfest - Highland Sword Dancing
  16. Weelond Octoberfest - Highland Sword Dancing
  17. Angus and Dougal Macalister, brothers from the highland region of Corrington, have recently arrived in Weelond looking for work. Former soldiers from one of Corrington's famed highland regiments, the two have heard rumours that Eslandolan employers may be recruiting experienced soldiers. On arriving in Weelond, the pair found Oktoberfest in full swing. Seeing an opportunity to both make a little money, and at the same time market themselves, the pair donned their former regimental uniforms and are performing traditional highland sword dancing for the crowds!
  18. Second post updated with a list of properties owned by the Royal Society. Which reminds me.... I forgot to post this here at the time! The Royal Society of Natural Philosophy is pleased to announce the establishment of the An Holli Corrington College, known to the locals in Weelond as the Red School. Licensed as a small educational property
  19. Great story update Bregir, and good to see the Royal Society spreading it's influence further in Eslandola.... next we'll even be openning branches in Olean!!! Soon the whole world will be enlightened and peace and prosperity will reign!!!
  20. A salt pork factory has been established to supply visiting vessels with preserved meat.
  21. With the establishment of a hog plantation and salt works to Mooreton Bay, Major Allcock has established a factory to produce salt pork to resupply ships visiting the settlement. Together with hard tack, salt pork forms one of the dietary staples of long ocean voyages. Out the front of the factory, a victualler from a visiting naval vessel arranges the delivery of additional rations for his ship. Inside the factory, which has been sunken into the ground to help keep the temperature down, the process of preserving the meat is carried out. Firstly the pigs are butchered and the meat is cut into pieces ready for preservation. Each piece is then dry rubbed with salt and placed in a barrel of brine for five days to remove the blood (blood can spoil the preservation process). After the five days the meat is removed. An additional layer of salt is added to each piece of meat as it is packed into a barrel. Once full, fresh brine is added and the barrel is then sealed ready for storage. At the rear of the factory a worker loads freshly delivered salt down the specially designed chute. Two of the newly raised colonial militia pass on patrol. _________________________________________________________ Licensed as a medium factory in Mooreton Bay. Inspiration for the build came from @SilentWolf and @Brickwolf 's builds of a hog plantation and salt works. The factory design is heavily influenced by @Elostirion's barrel factory in Nova Terreli. The front wall and roof detach for easy access to the interior. Hope you enjoy and C&C always welcome!
  22. As commented the mob is done well, I like how you reposition them as the story progresses. Great job!
  23. Nice prospecting scene and great story to go with it. I hope Liza found something valuable - Good Luck!
  24. A very fortunate discovery indeed! At first I thought the miners may be under guard, but the amount of silver in that shaft explains the security!!
  25. An excellent landing scene, the troops are positioned perfectly! Should be interesting to see how this international cooperation plays out! Royal decree has made official support not possible at this time, mercenary companies however, might be a different story...
