  1. The dark green and dark bley work quite well together, nice little post office!
  2. Nice little boathouse and it is good to see some progress in some of the newer colonies. As for the weather, we are expecting >30C here today... Some cooler weather would be nice!
  3. Very nicely done! The dark tan rock work looks really good, especially when combined with the excellent water and vegetation. Great Job!
  4. A small terraced rice field has been established in Mooreton Bay.
  5. Some time ago, a small boatload of people from the far west of Halos landed in Mooreton Bay wishing to start a new life. The mayor at the time, Major Dirk Allcock, being a typical Corlander and open to people of all cultures, of course accepted them into the colony. They petitioned the mayor for some land in which to grow the staple cereal of their distant homeland, rice. Major Allcock was quite surprised when they requested land in the highlands inland of the colony. Although terraced systems were not unheard off, indeed Stormhaven had a sugar plantation utilising a similar system, it was still quite unorthodox. Nevertheless, Major Allcock approved, and even provided convict labour to clear the land and build the barriers for the terraces. Although he has since left the settlement, work has continued under the new Mayor, and the fields are now being planted for the first time. In this scene, the top tier has been flooded and planted. The middle has been flooded and is in the process of being planted; and the bottom is being ploughed by an oxen driven plough. Hi all! A small plantation for Mooreton Bay. Hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Years!

  7. Drama aside, I quite like this build, while it is relatively simple, the colours really make it 'pop' (to borrow a term from Kai! ) Great job and I look forward to the story continuing, the developments on Nellisa make for one of the most interesting storylines in the game.
  8. Lovely building KB, a very impressive effort and a great start for the RNTC! Lots of cool techniques here I'll be studying closely - the windows especially!
  9. Well there is not much that hasn't already been said... but Wow! Fort Arlin certainty lived up to expectations, a truly phenomenal build!
  10. A huge thank you to all those involoved in getting the results out, you guys rock! As awesome as this result is for my little Class 1F, unfortunately the Saucy Gibbon was actually captured by pirates on the last MRCA run... A form was submitted before the final results came in but I made a note in the thread. Sorry for the confusion.
  11. Fantastic council hall Capt Wolf! I’ve never seen Independence Hall, although the green desks reminded me instantly of the Lower House of our own parliament. (The Senate is red while the House of Representatives is green... I think it’s from the British….) Anyway, the Eslandolan coat of arms is brilliantly reproduced in Lego behind the dias, it’s probably one of my favourite features, and the addition of the front door for the first photo was a great idea. Keep up the great work!
  12. Thank you all for the comments everyone! As mentioned above this one has been in the works for a while, I started around two months ago and took my time. I really think it has paid off as it is probably one of my favourite builds so far, and I deeply appreciate you guys taking the time to comment! Also, if Flickr is anything to go by, I'm not the only one who thinks it's one of my best, as it is only my second build ever to get over 100 favs! So all in all I'm pretty stoked although a little daunted as now I feel I've set some kind of bar!!! Yeah, the balcony/boardwalk uses headlight bricks to offset the tiles. I'd seen the technique used somewhere on Flickr, for fences I think, but couldn't refind it for proper credit. Below is a picture of how it works if you are interested. Unfortunately I ran out of bricks for an interior. The ground floor was almost finished. I had work benches and a storage space for the hats. The upper floor is a blank space! Thanks Kwatchi, I agree regarding @Mike S's artistic vision - I think the reason I spent so long on this trying to get it just right was to attempt to create something worthy of that unique vision!
  13. Nice job Brickwolf, your office fits the style of Mooreton Bay really well, it's great to have your continued presence in the settlement!
  14. Fantastic build with so many great details to take in! I especially like the model posing for the painting, the way you've done the dress is really good. Great job!
  15. As other mentioned, those stands are really well executed, I shall be ah 'borrowing' that idea!
  16. Great way to make the announcement Silentwolf! The Royal Society shall be most interested in the flora of this island!
  17. Widow's Hattery [License status: Yes] [Type: Artesian, medium]
  18. After leaving Mooreton Bay on his voyage of discovery to the west, Major Dirk Allcock makes a brief stop in the Corlander settlement of Stormhaven. His visit is to pay his respects to the mayor, Jack Bain, satisfy his curiosity regarding the island (Serentia was his intended destination before he was asked to supervise the settlement of Alicentia) and visit one of his business investments, a medium artesian which was producing quality head wear for the discerning gentlemen. As you may well recall, Stormhaven is unique in that it is situated in a mangrove tidal flat and buildings are built on stilts and connected by boardwalks. A few months ago, Dirk was approached by a women named Martha Harris. Mrs Harris was a widow who wanted to settle in Stormhaven to be close to her son, who served their as a minor civil servant in the administration. She wished to buy a plot of land and set up a hattery to fund her self. Thus Dirk provided the capital, and now he is here to see his investment first hand. The widow Harris already has gained a formidable reputation, producing quality hats and even winning the contract to supply Corlander troops in the region with replacement tricornes. To keep up with the demand, she now has three ladies working for her. Here she can be seen greeting Dirk at the front door of her establishment. Licensed as a medium artesian in Stormhaven. Well, it's been a while in the making, but I finally have finished (sort off) my Stormhaven project (I had planned an interior, but didn't actually finish it - I ran out of tan bricks!). I had ordered the mangrove parts for the Stormhaven minichallenge, but they arrived slightly too late to submit anything. I've tried to match the style set by Mike S in his settlement - Hopefully this should blend in well! Also a smaller version of his and Gideon's mangroves. The slanted panel technique I found on Flickr here. Anyway I really like this build, I think it's probably one of my better ones! Hopefully you agree! C&C are always welcome!
  19. Great to see Cooke finally made it! I hope Sir Thomas isn't too hard on him! Nice little building. The sand green looks really good with the light bley.
  20. I really like it as well. So clean and 'classic' looking, yet still realistic and with some great detail. I'm also loving the light yellow - a colour I didn't even know existed before I saw this! Looking forward to seeing more as you continue to develop this.
  21. I was planning on refitting the Black Oak from the last challenge as a sixth rate and renaming her Royal Oak. I need to re-do her sails and am planning a huge Corrish ensign. Would she be acceptable for the flagship of one of the squadrons? (my preference would be for white squadron!) EDIT: oh and no reward is necessary. As a prize of war I am happy to donate her to the crown for nothing
  22. Congratulations on the win! There are some great combos and poses in your gang, well deserved!
  23. Very nice Bregir, King's Harbour is really taking off this month! The bley columns with the 1x1 round and normal plates on top are a really nice touch, I'll be borrowing that one! The SNOT walls on the first story are also a highlight, as are the grounds, fences and ground keepers cottage... actually is there anything left not standing out... nupe, don't think so!! Great job all round!
